They took such care in my home and were so respectful and efficient! They assisted with some installation questions I had and got right to work. They were so careful moving my furniture around and I was so touched that they made sure my bed area was cleared at the end of their upstairs workdays so I didn't have to sleep on the couch. They used plastic sheeting to mask off closet and bathroom contents to keep the dust down as much as possible due to the floor leveling process. The layout continually had to be adjusted due to poor measurement application. Even after the plan was complete, several cabinets were incorrectly made and significant workarounds implemented. We like the look of our wood plank tile, but it will never been sound. Several loose tiles have been replaced and more is needed. I don't think it will ever be 100%. Getting tiles replaced is like pulling teeth, uncomfortable and painful.

I had about 5 layers of flooring layered one on top of the other which increased the height of the floor above the original hardwood floor that was installed in 1956 way too much. He tore out all the layers of flooring and got down to the original hardwood and installed the new hardwood directly on top. The finished product is perfect. 180 square feet complete in one day. I prefer to hire contractors that actually do the work themselves and work side by side with their employees like Mr. Mendoza does. It seems like all the other quotes I got were much higher because the owners are just sales people and the quote includes their overhead which may include paying for a secretary, their own pay, and the laborers that actually do the floor installation.

I waited a few weeks and tried again and finally got in touch with Manuel at Stone Polish. We settled on a date and I confirmed the day earlier to make sure he was still coming. He messaged me back quickly and the next day he showed up 20 minutes early. We discussed the situation and the process for repairing the granite behind the sink. About two hours later he was finished. It's significantly better than what it was. There were a number of granite chunks and pieces that were loose plus, some of the metal reinforcement was so bad, it had disintegrated. Manuel reused some of the larger pieces and used epoxy to blend in some of the other areas. All in all, we're very happy with the outcome. Manuel was very personable and I wouldn't hesitate to call him again.
