Like paint you can think something will look good and you'll never know until it's installed. I am glad I trusted James's instinct. His two staff floor installers were also some of the best I've seen. Prior to James I had a carpet installer at another place and the carpet ended up having rolls in it 1-2 years later. AND.. I also had a kitchen remodel where the flooring people allowed water to seep in and the floor was damaged a year later (but it was too late by then and I could not get it replaced). These are OTHER experiences I am comparing to so you understand HOW GOOD JAMES IS. To-date, the carpet on my stair well is still flawless (this is now years later). And the the luxury vinyl plank James recommended are still my favorite in both color and quality. There have been zero issues. They were installed in 2020 and now in 2026 they're still phenomenal (sorry for the late review). We did the LVP flooring in our master bedroom, closet and bathroom. Thank you James!

Another company said that repairs were impossible, and that they could only replace the entire floor or cover it in laminate. They actually said they'd have to do the whole house. Ridiculous! An additional repairman said he could fix it, but his bid was twice what Daniel estimated. In order to get the right color of floorboards, Daniel took up panels from the back of our front closet, which of course perfectly matched the damaged flooring in the hallway. Even the new wood he put down in the closet is a near match for the rest of the wood. The whole job looks terrific. Don't waste any time with other companies, especially "repair companies" that claim they can't really provide repairs. I texted Paul some pictures, and he was able to give me a quote over the phone. Once I agreed to move forward, he got me scheduled pretty quickly. Luis came out and explained what needed to be done. Since the original composite floor panels are no longer made, he had to cut individual pieces of white oak to match the exact size and keep the original look of the panels. You could tell a lot of time and care went into it. After carefully piecing everything together, he sanded and finished it to match the original color of the floor. Honestly, when it was done, I could not tell the difference. The repair blended in perfectly with the original floor. Really impressed with the craftsmanship and attention to detail. I'd definitely recommend Paul's Wood Flooring.

Carlos and Brayan were also very respectful of our space and made sure to clean up at the end of each day and move things back around to make the space still livable before taking off for the next day. It has been about 2 months since we had the flooring redone, and the floors still look great and I highly recommend going with Paul and his team for any flooring projects!

One thing we really appreciated was Eder's transparency. Before the installation began, he walked the house with us and highlighted specific areas that needed extra attention. Being aligned on the solutions beforehand saved us a lot of stress and ensured there were no surprises mid-project. The crew was efficient and actually finished the entire job ahead of the original schedule. During the final walkthrough, we identified a few minor items that needed touching up. Eder handled these immediately and was more than happy to ensure every detail met our expectations. Then we made an appointment to meet in the showroom, where Joshua very knowledgeably directed us to the options that met our needs. We had some timing issues and they remained flexible. When an issue was identified with our subflooring on our stairs, South Bar Carpets sent out their wood specialist, who checked each stair to ensure it was structurally sound and discussed our options for remediating stains. He could have easily told us the stairs needed to be replaced (a hefty price), so I really appreciated his honesty! We treated the stairs ourselves following everyone's advice, then the installation team returned just when they said they would to finish the job. They were polite, helpful, efficient and did their best to contain the mess. Highly recommend. I love our new carpeting!

Before they closed on Saturday, I texted Joshua. His response was that his grandmother was in the hospital and might not make it. I was sympathetic, offered prayers, and told him we could reconnect Monday or later if he needed more time. Then nothing. No follow-up, no update, no communication at all. On Monday, I walked into Banner Carpets on Artesia instead and purchased what I needed. It was a small $1,300 job, but small jobs add up and reliable service matters. This was handled very poorly, Joshua. I truly hope your grandmother recovers, and if her time is up, I wish her peace.
