Potentially racist encounter here. I would like a refund. Full experience below…read more I brought my bike up to the office and she insisted it wouldn't be stolen if I left it outside the door. She was so preoccupied about how much time this would take for me to find a bike rack downstairs due to "back to back" appointments. Why the f**k would I trust her word regarding the safety of my precious bike. After suggesting I come back another day, guilting me into "I drove here for you," and saying she called her next appointment to push to 9:40am (she did not since I was in front of her the whole time) ontop of me being desperate after a bad week, I suggested to put the bike inside her office which she agreed to. Looking back, I should've left because the purpose is to heal and how can I with this energy. And so begin the awkward convo about why I wanted acupuncture. She couldnt understand or pick up much of what I was saying due to lack of English so things I said I had to repeat or she didnt hear at all. Never go to a doctor that doesn't know your language fluently because then how are they supposed to treat you? Overall it was a quick 20-30 min acupuncture in a dark tight silent room. Shortest session I've ever had but she insisted "it's not about the time, it's about the results." Stayed on the table beyond my appointment time since she said her next appointment that she was preoccupied about "cancelled." She also mentioned right off the bat that she only accepted cash, which was not communicated when I booked the appt. The length of session was also not communicated prior. Anyways, if I had to run and go get cash, this would've been another reason she would've suggested "I come back another day." On top of that she didnt have full change so I get the vibe she was lying about the card machine not working...racism? Maybe but looking back on this, it seemed she was lying about many things and searching for any reason to not treat me. A waste of $75, but actually $77 since she didnt have enough change. Offered $2 off in next visit but I won't be returning. I would love a refund.

I never write any reviews and really hate to write this bad one but it's been 4 days after my…read moretreatment with Ming and I am worse than I started. I came in seeking treatment for my stiff neck and shoulder pain. Ming was friendly to greet me as I walked in, sat me down as I explained my issues with her. She nodded, then pulled out a ONE FOOT long needle and stuck it in my right forearm "horizontally" halfway up my forearm to my elbow. She explained this was a new treatment and it would only take 1 treatment to cure my issue while she wiggled the foot long needle in my forearm. May I remind you, my issue is stiff neck and shoulders, there's nothing wrong with my forearm! I have to admit, I was nervous going in due to my phobia with needles. But many of the Yelp reviews I read all raved about how painless the procedure was that I had to try. So my body went into shock and my hands went into a "rigor mortis"-like state where they clamped up and curled into fists. Ming stated I need to relax or else the treatment wouldn't work, but at this point, I had lost control of my body. I explained to Ming that maybe it's my phobia and nerve that caused this. Ming then stated in Chinese to me "You are such a delicate flower who can't endure pain. You must be so spoiled by your parents." .......um.....who says that?!!?!?! especially to a patient in pain and shock???!?!?!?!? Also, Ming did not have me complete an initial questionnaire nor did she work with my insurance (like other yelp reviewers stated) so I had to pay full price. At that point, I just wanted to get out of the place due to the traumatic experience. This is the 4th day after my treatment and my forearm is in extreme pain. I cannot lift heavy objects, cannot put any weight on it and I am feeling a tingling sensation down my finger tips. I suspect the foot long needle has hit my tendon or nerve. I went in expecting for some kind of relief for my neck and shoulder pain and instead what I received was ridicule and a injured arm.

This place is awful. They work on the sunk-cost principle. Then you have to have an appointment to establish service. During this appointment, they literally will NOT talk to you about any medical issues you have or any prescriptions you might need. You're supposed to make another appointment for that. This first appointment is just for the APRN to nod her head while you go over your history. They make a big deal about being cheaper than doctors, and it's true, their actual visit cost is less. However, you'll quickly find (if you pay out of pocket like we do) that they have "procedure fees" for everything. For instance, at the doctor we eventually found, I only pay a $35 nurse fee for vaccinations, but at Park Wellness, I was expected to pay the regular office visit fee PLUS an additional amount for a procedure fee, which brought the total to MORE than a checkup with the doctor. Not only that, but I was flat out told that they charge MORE for a procedure fee for people who pay out of pocket than they charge insurance companies. The office manager, who is related to both APRNs and is therefore likely there to stay, is a rude jerk. I'd say more, but frankly, I have so little trust for this place that I don't want to say enough that I can be identified. This was one of the worst "doctor" experiences I've ever had.

He spoke of his girlfriend so he was not "married with kids" like his profile says (unless a part time dad from a previous marriage) nor is there a "we" practicing there, as his profile says. His description says "We combine training in Qigong, Craniosacral Therapy, Bodywork, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming in each session. We also offer nutritional therapy coaching and nourishing foods and beverages to take home." none of which happened for me. I did receive an acupuncture treatment ( without even checking my pulse...which I found odd and a bit scarry,) accompanied by lots of time doing muscle testing and Bach flower remedies... which he insisted I take even though I had told him I don't believe in them. He gave me lots of shoulds as far as telling me 90 % of my supplements wont help me, but never explained to me the whys of anything, so I could not understand how to work with the info. Everything he said was supposed to be fallowed in blind faith which just I didn't feel intuitively called to fallow....especially after his belief in Bach Flowers (I belive in the memory of water, just not Bach's interpretations as it does not reflect the plants herbal elemental medicinal qualities, and if it does not ring true on one level it won't ring true on any). As the session wore on I got the distinct feeling I was bothering him and he was quick to ask me to leave. Almost to the point of rolling his eyes as I asked a last couple questions before my time was up. he may be wonderful for somone more new age seeking aura work ( he appeared to be doing lots of that, although I did not notice a difference.) but Ive lots of experience in traditional TCM, and was hoping for more acupuncture with explanation. So it was disappointing. I think for others he may be great. just not my style, I need more participation in my own healing path. If I had been more assertive and articulate about trying to get my needs met better, he may have been able to meet them better, I'm not sure. I do wish him well.

After 3+decades of pretty intense athletic adventures, I originally called Heather for help with some niggling physical stuff (plantar fasciitis, hamstring tendinitis, a grumpy shoulder) and also some deeper, systemic stuff I was experiencing (which later turned out to be a thyroid and adrenal issue.) I have experience with several different types of Accupuncture- and on our first call Heather let me know that her method might be different from what I was used to. She emphasized that she uses a subtle, systemic rebalancing approach - and that while we would work on my specific issues, it might be a different process than I was used to. The truth is, I've never found two practitioners to be the same, and part of what I find so effective about accupuncture is that each practitioner has a framework that speaks to their own experience and their energy- at best it's a partnership where their methods, training and energy meet my present circumstances and behaviors, and the healing happens somewhere in the middle. That's what I've found here. In my life, accupuncture with heather is an important part of what I'm doing to feel better - in addition to working with a naturopathic doc and doing physio. Bodies take maintenance- we live in them every day- and working with Heather has helped not just the acute physical injuries, but also feels like it's gradually helping restore some of the general sense of wellness I've been lacking. I really love that Heather offers in-home treatment. Facing health challenges is an incredibly vulnerable, emotional process - and I couldn't have a better partner in what is definitely a journey toward feeling like myself again. Her vast technical expertise is matched her kindness. I'm grateful to Heather (and Yelp!) for walking with me thru what has been a wildly challenging wellness year.
