Dr. Jill was happy to take me on as a patient when she heard I had PIP but once that money ran out and the insurance stopped paying, she demanded upfront cash payments of the lump sum even though my attorney provided her a lien letter so I could still receive treatment. She wouldn't let me leave her office and threatened to call the cops if I didn't pay $2200 immediately. This is illegal medical billing practice as she didn't inform me of the cost of treatment before starting nor was she able to provide me a bill to show me how the lump sum was incurred and she discussed my treatment in the public waiting area in front of other patients. Once I paid the $2200, she gave me a bill and it showed I overpaid by $600. She wouldn't refund me the money and said she would apply it to her wife's business, Healing Handw of Hilo, which is also illegal. It took me 3 hours of disputing this in her office and she only agreed to refund me the overpayment when her wife intervened. I stopped seeing her and went to a real orthopedic doctor who sent me to get an MRI that showed I had severe injuries to my C5-C6 spine. A neurosurgeon performed surgery and I was immediately relieved of all pain. He said Dr. Jill should never have cracked my neck and spine with the injuries I had. This was also supported by my orthopedic doctor and physical therapist. Dr. Jill only sees the $$$. Her sessions were 15 minutes but she would charge for 4 different adjustments at 15 minutes each. The amount she sent to the insurance company was less than what she charged me because Hawaii law only allowed for certain billable amount to the insurance company whereas cash patients have no limits. I don't like to be negative to any local business but I believe she is a danger to our community. As a doctor, she should've made sure it was safe for me to receive chiropractor treatment (cracking my neck and back with a spinal injury) and her billing practices are illegal as well as breaking HIPPA laws. For your own safety, find a better chiropractor.

Even at the end of the session it seemed like my pain and sensitivity had diminished quite a bit. And that day walking around it felt way better. When I confronted the Business Manager and asked to see on my chart if the request from my doctor was on my chart. She told me that the Therapist is the one that makes the decision on what she wants to do with her clients. When I asked her more questions about my situation she changed the story around and began to tell me, that I owe her $25.00 for a no show fee from Last week Monday. I usually get a reminder phone call to let me know that my appointment for Monday is on Friday before.I was told that Friday's phone calls is to remind people of their Monday appointments and Monday calls is for Tuesday. Scottie called me that same day in the morning reminding me to bring a mask or no services will be provided. He failed to tell me that I have an appointment that morning when he called me.There is NO sign that says that there is a $25.00 fee for No Show in their office.
