This place is great. Yes, it is in an office building suite. This really mitigates the disarray of wandering people at other stores, plus they can focus on one customer at a time. I found the staff to be friendly and very knowledgeable; the prices are the same or better than some of the far away volume dealers. If they don't have it in stock, they can get it in a couple of days. One time I showed up and they were at lunch, so I waited 15 minutes...no big deal. If you're concerned about that, call ahead. The other young man I forgot his name but i want everyone to know they were cheaper and Tyler and the other young man helped me hold and examine a lot of different guns. This place requires 2 parties to be a member in order to do a simple dross. The person selling the firearm had just signed there $100 membership and when we go in they told him he had to pay for a lifetime membership or I had to pay for a $100 membership also.... I've had the pleasure of doing business with Ricky at Loyal Arms on 3 separate occasions and each visit has been a great experience. I was referred to Loyal Arms when my go-to FFL (Armory Outpost) closed down at the beginning of this year. This isn't your typical gun shop. For anyone visiting for the first time, Loyal Arms is located inside a professional office building where you check in with the front desk and they call Ricky to let him know you've arrived. There are no rows of display windows with different firearms and accessories to try out. He keeps a low inventory in order to maintain competitive pricing, so most things need to be ordered. I don't have an issue with this because I usually know what I'm looking for and can send Ricky an email in advanced for a quote and lead time. This is also hands down the best place to get ammo. Loyal Arms has something called a Loyal Customer Ammo Service, where you can shop the full catalog of targetsportsusa.com and send Ricky a link to the item and the quantity you want to purchase. You add 7.75% sales tax to the order and that's it. No shipping fees, no ammo fees, no transfer fees (note- this was before the July 2019 ammo laws took effect. I believe there is a $1 DOJ fee now but that is applied at all FFL's across the state). Still, these prices are more competitive than anything I've seen in the area. The lead time for targetsportsusa orders has been about a week in my experience, however I think it's worth it to be able to take advantage of online pricing and promos. Ricky also offers firearms training, which I have not yet tried. Though I would be interested in taking a class one of these days. In my opinion, I'd highly recommend this shop to enthusiasts and clients who know exactly what they are looking for. It's a small, but effective operation and I think Ricky runs it very well. For new shooters, I would recommend this place as well. However, I would try and get an idea of what you are looking for and if possible rent or handle the gun at your local range first. Ricky can assist you from there. If you are looking for a fair, reliable and affordable FFL for firearm sales/transfers, ppt, ammo sales/transfers, etc then Loyal Arms would be worth a visit. read more

"Ricky" refused to provide me with his last name when I complained that the ammunition I ordered was never delivered. He also refused to provide me with the last name of "Matt". Further, he refused to provide me with his FFL number, so I could confirm with federal authorities about the existence or nonexistence of his license. I would encourage all shooters to avoid this location as they are the type of establishment that makes all lawful gun owners look bad. I encourage you to take your business elsewhere. read more

I had to use my phone in their office to make the transaction and owner got annoyed with me again and asked me to go outside. They lost a customer today. If you know what you want and aren't new to firearms, this place is for you. This is not a store & this is not a bad thing! These days with the constant lines and lack of product this place is unique. You can purchase items on their website and go into their office to finalize your purchase. They are extremely friendly and accommodating & are great with communication when your item has arrived. No, they're not the cheapest place but time is money and I'd rather pay a few more $ than stand in line for 2 hours for 2 boxes of ammo. Btw, they have no limit on ammo. This is not a gun store. This is 3 people in a 100sqft office park suite, inside a building with other office suites. That being said, the young lady who helped me was awesome. Did everything she could to answer my questions and find the product I wanted. However, her job was almost impossible with another one of the employees barging in every 10 seconds to put in his two cents about whatever we were discussing. One time in particular, in passing I asked her if she had any pistols in stock and before she could say anything, the same guy barges in explaining everything is on back-order, and hit me with this gem: "If you don't want to wait 6 months or more for a gun, you shouldn't buy a gun! And if you do buy and cancel cause it takes too long, we'll still charge you 20%! You don't wanna wait, DON'T BUY!" Which translates to "If you don't want to give me your money for nothing, then YOU'RE the problem." Gun stores in California already seem to have a chip-on-the-shoulder shitty attitude when it comes to their customers, but this guy takes the cake. Don't bother making the drive out ot Folsom, they have NOTHING, and even if they did it's all 30%-40% higher than everywhere else (who actually has it in stock). What a joke. read more

I just completed an FFL transfer, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Ricky made the process quick and simple as possible, and despite being my first time buying a gun, never made me feel uncomfortable with the process. Obviously, make sure you have all the required paperwork or they legally cannot make the process quick and simple for you. I would absolutely reccomend them for any kind of FFL transfer! read more

I have made numerous purchases with Loyal as well as done several transfers in the past. Most recently however I came in to do a PPT and planned to pick up an AR upper and some ammunition but was told that I needed to be a "member" to do a PPT. I went home, paid the $100 membership fee and returned a few days later only to be told that both I and the individual buying my rifle needed to be members. This is ridiculous. Not only does their website not state that both parties need to be members but requiring this fee in order to do a PPT seems to go against CA DOJ rules for FFLs that you can only charge a $10 fee on top of DOJ fees. I have reached out to the DOJ to verify the legality of this but between myself, friends and the individual who was with me they have lost several customers over this practice. There are plenty of other FFL's around that do not charge this fee so avoid it by going elsewhere. read more

This place is your one stop shop for what you need! I went in the get a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield in 9mm and I was in and out before I knew it. The prices are great, and they have a live up to date inventory online so you always know what is in stock and what everything is going to cost you before arriving. Both guys I spoke with are super knowledgeable and friendly and I couldn't recommend this place enough. Their process and location are kind of unusual if you're used to normal brick and mortar gun shops but that's how they're able to keep overhead to a minimum and beat out the competition. There are no display cases filled to the brim with rifles and handguns to be found here but he'll be able to order anything you're interested in, provided the distributors have it in stock. I've only bought ammo from them so far, prior to July 2019, but every transaction done has been smooth and hassle free. Worst experience ever! Ricky Gan from Loyal Arms is a terrible respresentative and once a sale is made is absolutely zero help if you're having questions or second thoughts about your order. I ordered two handguns that were not CA compliant from their website which is another red flag and then was told by Ricky they cannot order these. So I have attempted to cancel this order since May 8th and STILL have not received my credit back. No communication, no responses, no attempts to complete or satisfy, if Ricky is the face of this business then they should close shop now and go somewhere else. When I contacted Ricky and was fine with a 25% cancellation cost he responded with telling me that the original sale never went through then in the same breath told me they could offer an in store credit. Meanwhile I'm out over $1,300 and still no end in sight. I'd highly suggest customers go to another dealer in Sacramento and avoid Loyal Arms. read more

Ricky is a great guy who runs this business i believe on his own. Which is how i think hes able to beat pricing on guns and ammo. Hes really nice and great to do business with. I dont go to gun shops anymore since doing business with loyal arms. Ill price match at other shops just to compare who is best but i find out frequently that more times than not Ricky can get you what you need at a better price, and with better faster service. Hes one of the few FFL that really cares about teaching firearm safety and helping people get deals. we need to keep this guy around and in business, especially as laws and restrictions are becoming more and more expensive to do anything. I've just recently become a firearm owner so I've learned a lot I purchased my firearm at another store and I wish I'd known about LA before this. I waited in line for hours (no exaggeration) at the first store I went to, not only once to choose what I wanted . This took about 1 1/2hrs. When i went to pick it up the wait was over 4 hours in the heat along with probably 30 others. Finally after getting inside I was shown how to load my Beretta (the hard way). I couldn't do it. Finally after almost 2 more hours another guy showed me another option for loading which was so easy. My ammo was out of stock...for months Finally I remembered that I had seen another place which was Loyal Arms. No more waiting and I have my ammo.Ricky answers your emails immediately.
