Missing epoxy and open

I trusted Lowes to install my windows last year. It's been 14 months and now that it has started raining, my window is leaking like crazy. I called to see if they could help me out and because of the 1 year installation warranty I'm pretty much screwed. I spent a pretty penny for these windows and now I'm left without support. I wish I would've chose a different company to install my windows. If I could give zero I would. Upon further review: looks like they only did half of the window with epoxy. The part that is not filled is where it is leaking. It's also open in the corner

They delivered a broken toilet to me on 8/19/25. After many attempts on my part to get them to pick it up and refund me for it they finally picked it up on 8/26/25. It's now 9/14/25 and they still won't give me a refund. I'm not sure why. I've talked to store managers, telephone support, chat. Everyone except the store acknowledges there's an issue and the refund is inexplicably delayed. Why won't they refund a damaged product that they themselves picked up and returned back to their store? The assistant manager yesterday said he'd "look into it" and call me back. That hasn't happened in 24 hours. What's the hold up?

Stall doors

This is my home store and I appreciate that they're usually pretty stocked. And there's usually enough employees to help you out throughout the store. The cons though is always having to use self checkout but if you're buying a gift card you have to go to the customer service which can take awhile when people are picking up and or returning items. Another con can become a liability for them. The woman's bathroom doors are either installed improperly or falling apart but they swing back at you when you're trying to go into a stall. For a moment I thought someone was in a stall and pushed the door back into my face! So beware of the stall doors or don't use the woman's restroom.

Lowe's at this location is genuinely a cut above the rest, especially when compared to the nearby Home Depot. The moment I walked in, I was met with an open, well-organized atmosphere that was fully stocked. It was refreshing to navigate aisles that were both clean and uncrowded. Also note that the selection was much better also at Lowe's. For example, they had backyard. Misters were as Home Depot did not. Note that both Home Depot and Lowe's both offer 10% military discount as long as you pre-register on their website and verify with your ID.me account also, they price match so the value was definitely there. International. The service? Absolutely on point. The employees were attentive and ready to assist. It's such a stark contrast to the congested and often chaotic feel of Home Depot just a mile away. In fact, the difference is so pronounced that it feels like Lowe's operates in a different league altogether. A possible reason for this superior shopping experience could be the noticeably fewer customers at this Lowe's, making it feel like a breath of fresh air. Regardless of the reason, I'll be choosing Lowe's over its competition any day. Highly recommended!

I love that they're a catch all! At check out I found dog treats, cbd, cards, soaps, etc. lots and lots of variety! I bought some of the most gorgeous coordinating large pots a few years back. They were so different, geometric. When we've come they've always had helpful staff. Their paint mixing guy is knowledgeable. Their staff in the garden section is as well. It's a very convenient store right off Ventura. And the size makes it much more navigable than Home Depot!

Sometimes I'll go to one of the more "convenient" home improvement chains, but 80% of the time after looking through aisles and aisles of cookie-cutter boxes of hardware designed for contractors I will come up empty handed and head over to Franklin's wondering why I didn't just start here. I have always, ALWAYS, found the hardware I need, no matter how obscure the screw, nut, or fitting, at Franklin. Tiny brass screws to fix an antique clock? They'll have it. "Euro" style screws that came with your cheap Ikea cabinet? They'll have it. A bushing for a kitchen appliance that is an odd size... they will have it. Additionally the folks who work here are super friendly and helpful! Another reason why anyone looking for anything a hardware store carries should start here. There is a small parking lot in the back, and metered parking on the street. They are an "Ace" hardware franchise so if you need to pick up an order from the Ace website this is a location that you can select (I've done this several times). They also do re-screening, and knife sharpening. It's truly one of the last remaining neighborhood hardware stores and I can't recommend it highly enough.

First person who I spoke with told me the item was not in stock and when I asked her if any other stores had it in stock she immediately said no, it only shows one available. I asked her where that one was and she said "what do you mean?"....I said-you told me that it shows there is one available-I want to buy it, where is it? She said oh you can't buy it, it is a display. Ok.... So I then ask her how long it would take to get one if I order it? her reply was "What do you mean" Me - I am not sure how to rephrase that-your item is out of stock, I want to order one. She told me that they do not take orders... So I ask-so your company is advertising a product that is not in stock in your store, or any other store and I cannot order it-she said yes. So I asked to speam with a supervisor-perhaps that person can help me figure out how to purchase the item they are advertising. After 5 minutes on hold, another person comes on line, and after going through all the same information, he also tells me there are "not any available within at least a 100 mile radius", I ask if he can perhaps suggest a comparable pump? While still on the phone with him, I go back to the website hoping he will offer a suggestion, and the link for the pump I called about shows that it is in stock 5 miles away and ask him why it is showing they have them if there aren't any in a "100 mile radius" he says "let me check....uhhh oh...yes they show that there are 3 in stock". Are you kidding me?? So apparently BOTH of these people were too lazy to actually check and see if there any in stock anywhere else? They need to do some serious customer service training here-these associates do NOT care about customers or sales.

When you walk in and glance across displays and vast variety well laid out plain to see; obviously done with care and concern of the customer who can find parts and supplies which would not be found in 97% of all stores in a 20 mile radius (probably even 50 miles) I will sum it up with, they have a niche market of supplying the unseen variety and choice that competitors will never offer to you. I will return again because they have items I failed to locate when venturing to many other stores.

Well structured and offering a full selection of DIY and home and garden goods. They are not as builder/contractor oriented as say Home Depot or Lowes, but great for everyday needs. One great thing is that they are never busy. It is easy to get in and out quickly. Main reasons that I could see for the lack of crowds compared to other hardware superstores is the low turnout of contractors and the higher prices (discussed further down). Service 3 stars: I have always found this aspect of Ace Hardware hard to rate. Sometimes you walk in and there are smiling faces everywhere, greeting you and asking you if you need any help. Other times you will not find anyone to assist you and keep wandering the aisles. Overall service is better than Home Depot or Lowes but it could also be much better! Merchandise 3.5 stars: Again not as elaborate as Home Depot or Lowes, but good enough for a neighborhood hardware superstore when you need something quick. Convenience 4.5 stars: For me, they are the closest hardware superstore, about a mile away. Next closest are Lowes in Northridge (4.5 miles) and Home Depot in Canoga Park (7.5 miles). Not having to fight traffic, compete for parking spots, parking next to huge work trucks and getting dinged by them or the lumber carts, and not paying extra for gas is worth it, especially when I need something in a jiffy. Prices 2 stars: Generally much higher than Home Depot or Lowes. In one instance, a part that was $10.99 at Lowes, Home Depot AND Amazon, was $13.99 at Ace. This is 27% higher! Now every price may not be this much higher but as a general rule always expect to pay more for the convenience. The Bottom Line 4 stars: Convenience and lack of crowds wins it for me!
