Lowes is AWFUL. I've been in retail for 42 years. I left my items n went to hime depot. They are rude. There isn't anyone to help you. Was told. They on lunch n he just went on break waited 20minutes with other people before anyone came. And that was after another lady was already there for 10. When some one finally arrived. I've had so many bad experiences over the years at this location and haven't been back in years. Today, I was in a pinch and thought it would be easier to stop there since it was nearby, but I was wrong. I needed a very simple part that I'm sure was in stock, but I couldn't locate it. I asked for help and it was soon obvious that I knew more about the store than they did. I left without purchasing and was reminded why I vowed before to never go back. I don't go in here too often because I feel so out of place and never know what I am really looking for because handy man stuff isn't for me, but there are times when I need light fixtures to replace in my bathroom or a new toilet seat which are an easy find and wont have me trekking through the whole store looking for someone to help me find the thing i need. Other than having a bunch of things needed for the home which is always a good thing, there seems to never be enough employees around to help. I can get a nice workout in as I walk up and down the isles looking for employees to answer questions. Maybe if there was more help around, I would come in here for more of my house needs, but there never is, so I go elsewhere for things I might need. We were at this location laying out the new kitchen. Our appt was with Barb, who was great, friendly and knowledgeable about all the options and steered us away from what would have been huge issues (frig doors not opening all the way bcuz of a wall, etc). I do not know how this kitchen could ever come together without the help of computer assisted design. What it can do is just amazing. Barb was and is great but what really made me need to write this review was the woman working at the self checkout area. Joy at the self checkout is just truly awesome. During her downtime she makes oragami birds out of ad paper and gives them out to the kids. She talks to all the kids that go by and the kids I observed actually said hi to het first by name! She is truly a special person going beyond her job description and should be acknowledged for it. read more

The store where you can find almost anything you need for your home or garden. So much better than Home Depot ( even though Lowe's copied their idea ), still they did it better! Clean, organized, wide varieties, huge isles. Carpets to flowers to large or small appliances, hardware, wood and all at competitive pricing. I like Lowe's. read more

I'm a fan of home Depot and lowes. I just feel like Lowes has much more to choose from in most of the departments. I can't say one is better then the other, but others might feel differently... Coming in hear on most Sunday mornings. There are no registers open at all, that's all open is the self-checkouts, so you are basically what ever you get depending on if anyone is in line you could be waiting awile in self check out. So be aware.... The Christmas decorations at Lowes by far are the nicest around. But you might pay more but worth it. read more

Do not buy your appliances of any kind at Lowes. Do not consider any extended warrantee. Lowes certified repair center serviced my dishwasher and did not even test its functionality. This was because I was told the glue needed two hours to dry. After the 2 hour wait, I ran the dishwasher and it maintained 2 inches of standing water inside and would not drain, made a mess on my floor and was clearly not repaired, its condition was made worse. The best part was you need to be proficient at using Google Translate to communicate with the service technician, I wonder where he was trained. Lowes took my money, hired a shoddy repair center and has left the leg work of my protection plan up to me. The only thing that Lowes is trying to protect is themselves. Sometime I have strong feelings about chain hardware store. This is not one of those times. The cashiers were the only people I interacted with and they were about as friendly as I imagine they could muster while being paid an embarrassingly low wage. The store was laid out well. I went in for paint brushes and found the paint easily enough. The trouble is finding the cleaning supplies in stores like that. I swear I think they hide the Simple Green! Haha The prices are as expected, the parking lots are enormous, etc. The only two problems I had were that they sell plants that have been painted. Plants can't live if their leaves are painted. It just isn't possible. Similar with glued on cactus flowers. The second problem happened when I tried to purchase a sample of interior paint that had been returned. It was on the discount rack and when it rang up at the self checkout it was full price. I wasn't going to pay full price, so I called the employee over. She said you can't pay for discounted items at a self checkout and said it as if there were a sign read more

Bought a $2000 lawn mower. Had it one week. Belt came off at it wont cut lawn. Returns guy telling us he wont take it back. Return policy says 60 day. Total run around. Customer service sucks, now we are out $2000. Do not recommend buying any expensive items here. Customer service sucks and they are not honoring the agreed return policy. Item must have been assembled half ass, and they wont take any responsibility. Total BS. A week later. Got a call back about the "dispute". Missed the call but they left a number. Call a number of times. No one answering the call line. No answer is Lowes answer to customer service. As far as home improvement wear houses fair I have always fancied Lowes rather than Home Dept for a variety of reasons (to long to list here) but that love attraction was severely compromised two days ago. So much so that I will never set foot in the Lowes of Trevose again. Even if it means driving to Home Depot in Plymouth Meeting to get a light bulb. In a nut shell I had 28 various keys cut & then put my masters back in the plastic bag that they were brought in with & went to check out. At the register the cashier counted the keys & when she was finished took my bag of masters out of my hand w/o asking & placed it on the other side of the counter away from me. I said "what's up?" & was given the 1 sec finger gesture & then she called hardware & asked how many keys they had cut for me. Fair enough I thought, the cashier is covering her bases & it wasn't a big deal. That was not the case however. After hardware confirmed the # of keys was the same as was written on the envelope that contained the keys & the same # that said chasier had counted in the 1st place the cashier was not satisfied & untied my bag of masters & milled through it further suggesting to me that she was looking to see how many keys I had stolen. By that time I had had enough of this b.s. & wasn't going to be treated any further like some two bit thief & canceled the transaction due to a "lack of money." I don't work for Lowes & to have to stand there for ten minutes & endure TSA style seizures & searches of my belongings & still have to pay them was beyond what I could comprehend. I promptly had the money returned to my gift card & extra cash handed back & left the whole kit & caboodle there for Lowes to eat. To put it mildly I do not appreciate being accused of stealing keys especially if I go through the trouble to check out in the first place. If I was going to steal keys Miss. Cashier I sure as hell wouldn't check any of them out & just dump them into a shop vac box or some other sealed container before check out like everyone else & not give a crap about it. However, since I did endure the retail process & had that many keys cut & then go to check out it really pissed me off to have the bag of masters snatched out of my hand & searched w/o asking. It sucks for Lowes because the following day I blew $ 380.00 @ Home Depot & the only mention of my bag of masters was the manager who said jokingly , "you can't return Lowes merchandise at Home Depot." Take a lesson in loss prevention from Home Depot Lowes. & that is don't have your $ 9.00 an hour cashiers cost you a near $ 400.00 sale by over scrutinizing a couple keys & insult a valued customer. read more

Went in to order more flooring that we used for a previous project. I gave the associate the exact name, he told us to go up front and give our phone number to pay. Went to pick it up and noticed the receipt had an entirely different name on it, not the color we selected. It didn't matter anyway because they loaded our car up with yet another floor- not the one we asked for or what was on our receipt. Conveniently the store manager isn't in and no one knows when he'll be back. Everyone has been less than helpful in correcting this. Their customer service is an absolute disgrace. read more

Bought a new refrigerator in mid-November because they PROMISED it would be delivered by Christmas. Moved in early December and used a "dorm cube" fridge while waiting for delivery. Fast forward THREE MONTHS ... we've received an email every other Tuesday at 8:30 am saying that delivery will be in another two weeks. No one can be reached by phone. I give up. read more

Never in my life have I seen such incompetence. I arrived at 6:45 pm to order a dishwasher, there was already 2 families waiting with no one working the section. Around 7 pm someone arrived no big deal so we all form a line to place our orders. I was planning on spending around $1000.00 (this will come up later) . As I was in line the lady at the register was chatting the people up, again fine, and another family who I over heard was going to buy a washer/dryer (let's say $1500). After about 20 minutes the family left and the first couple was still trying to place their order. So now it's 7:30 and the woman forgets an item number or something and leaves for another 10. At this time a man arrives and gets in line (he never spoke so I can assume he was going to spend $200 at the least). The woman comes back and the first family is done with their order, it's now 7:45. The second family starts their order and there are multiple problems and the woman working has to call up front. It is now 8pm and the man behind me leaves. The store closes at 9pm and at this point the woman working is stuck on a screen and again is calling up front for assistance. At 8:12 I decided I was never going to get to place my order before the store closed and left. I suppose I am partially to blame for waiting an hour and a half, but because of this woman's incompetence at the very least $2700 walked out of the store tonight! Avoid this store at all costs unless you have nothing to do all day. read more

This lowes has everything your normal store has so I don't consider that part of the review. The staff are nice too, so that gets the some props. The two star review is for this place's whacked out store layout. You can go in one of two entrances on either side of the building, but the only exit is up the middle, pretty far from anywhere you end up parking. I don't even care about walking, but no part of this is friendly. I get it, we live in the city and therefor, if you're going to put a store here, you want only one exit to prevent stealing. Maybe you even anticipate armed robberies and this layout is part of it. I don't really know. But I know trying to leave this place after buying stuff from them to keep them in business, you're herded into an 8-foot wide exit so they can watch you like the trash you are. None of the suburban lowes stores look like this and I personally take it as somewhat of an insult. read more

Very disappointed in the team over at Lowes. I just moved into my new house and wanted Lowes to put in floors for the whole house and a brand new kitchen. The company they use "Hunters" sent out an associate to measure the house and the first time missed two rooms for the estimate. Then came out a second time and this time there was a "computer glitch" and they didn't have any information on my measurements. Meanwhile I am calling everyday to try and get an update so I can get this done. Told I would be called back, never was. Told they were looking into the issue, they were not. After expressing my frustration with lowes about sending another associate out to my house for a third time. They wanted me to continue with the process with no discount applied. As for the Kitchen we were given a sale price of $14,000 dollars but the contract that was sent over was for more than $19,000. I was told this is how they do it and even though I am signing a contract for 19,000 I would only pay 14,000. What a Joke. Don't go here, I just got pricing for the floors and kitchen from several other stores and all except one were 30% less and they seem to understand how to run a business. When I stopped by this Lowes location two weeks ago, I was simply looking for assistance with building my patio. However, I had to ask three separate times (and three separate people) for assistance. It shouldn't be that difficult to answer a customer's question or at least tell the customer that you'll be with them in a moment or so. Nope. Never happened. I needed a copy of a receipt for a purchase I made at Lowe's for a warranty claim with Jacuzzi. After obtaining the receipt online at Lowes.com "MyLowes", I starting to view all of my previous purchases, and thought back to 4/12/14, when checking out I informed the cashier that I was retired military and showed her my I.D. for the 10% discount. This cashier informed me that just that week Lowe's had stopped giving the discount to veterans, that it was now for active duty military only, and did not give me a discount. So today, looking back I noticed a purchase I made on 9/20/12, a cash purchase for $2,304.62 and again at the time of the sale I presented my retired military I.D. for the discount, but at that time she viewed the I.D. and assumed she took off the 10% discount from my purchase. I see now that she never gave me the discount. I strongly believe that it was the same cashier, and I don't know why she would not honor Lowe's policies towards veterans, but it's not fair or right for this one individual to take it upon herself to change the rules of Lowe's. She knew what she was doing because she made a point to tell me that her soon to be son-in-law just joined the military. I wonder if "Home Depot" customers have this type of problem, as I have been a very loyal Lowe's customer. I contacted Lowe's headquarters via their website and after 4 days someone for this Lowe's contacted me, then a week after that they refunded me the 10% ($20.29) from the latest purchase 4/12/14, stating the $2304.62 was too long ago and it was no longer in their system. I was able to locate every purchase I've made and used my "MyLowes" card, why couldn't they?! Do this Lowe's not like Veterans? read more

You can NEVER find a flat bed or a lorry when you need one and the staff never seems to know where everything is! Walking back and forth and back again through that store isn't really that much fun. I used to frequent Home Depot more often, but then I realized how much friendlier the customer service is at Lowe's. At least this location has a well laid out store and friendly associates. Susan is the best! She knew exactly what I was looking for. She walked all the way across the store to make sure my mom and I were able to find the part we were looking for. Then we were looking for a part for our toilet, and she made sure to check the stock since there weren't any on the shelves. She also let us know that some seasonal items were marked down recently. Susan goes above and beyond, super helpful and nice. This is what makes a difference in a shopping experience. We left the store with a cart full! Also, it seems that the prices are less at Lowe's. Was looking for a TV mount for a 70-incher and it was about 30$ less for the same style! Definitely going to Lowe's again for their customer service and to check out what's on sale! read more

We bought a vanity to be installed while we were on vacation. The contractor waited almost 2 hours for them to find it, on the clock. The vanity is such poor quality that the doors do not match the rest of the cabinet. I called them and they told me to take the doors off and bring them in and they would try to match them up, more hassel but could be better than having to pay the contractor to tear out and re-install a new vanity. NOT! We took the doors there but the two cabinets that the salesman opened for me had worse looking doors than the ones we brought back. I can not believe that Lowe's could stand behind such junk. It is their brand. Now my choice is to live with a miss matched cabinet or spend a ton more money on upgrading and installation of another vanity. I am sorry that I ever purchased anything at Lowe's and have learned a hard lesson. Nice store, like the nursery, shop there all the time, it's waaay better than Home Depot, prices a bit chipper, bigger selection of plants and stuff, but their service is horrible not friendly at all( at least the store at Trevose Pa, the cashiers even worse never seen so miserable and rude people anywhere in customer service field?! Was applied for Lowes credit card it took almost 3 hours, and I'm not kidding, so placed an order for delivery it supposed to be on Monday morning, but they had some kind of problems with delivery man(really-not serious at all! We had contractors working on a project in the house who need to get paid but they couldn't do anything because the delivery never came up), so my husband had to go and pick up stuff himself, service sucks!
