After you're exasperated from dealing with the incompetency and limited options at big box stores like Lowe's and Home Depot, or fed up by the disorganization and poor service at Tague, come to Rittenhouse. Their quiet, small, friendly, low-key shop is a welcome respite from Philadelphia's other construction outlets. They have a list of carpenters they can recommend for installations, and also offer very reasonable delivery rates and can frequently do same-day delivery. For me, their extensive selection, friendly service, and quick turnaround times make the increased price worth it for most things. This place is a gem!

Since moving to Roxborough over 29 years ago, I have been shopping at Stanley's Hardware. I have…read morenever had a negative experience with their customer service. Last week they went above and beyond, clearly deserving of media mention. Last summer I purchased a Weber Grill. I immediately had an issue with the casters not working. I called Ernie who dispatched his crew to retrieve the grill and try to fix it. It was missing many screws and one of the casters had fallen off. The crew brought back the grill, supposedly fixed but I have had difficulty with the same casters since last year. They will lock in place, and not stay unlocked thus making it almost impossible to move my grill. Finally, last week one of the casters just broke off entirely. This was two days before my July Fourth cookout. I called Ernie back and he immediately remembered me and dispatched another crew to assess the situation . When the crew arrived, they realized they would again have to take the grill back to the shop. A few hours later I got a call from Mike asking me if I wanted to have the repair done by Weber under the warranty or if I wanted them to try to put on new casters. I told them to put on universal casters because I did not want the same casters from Weber. A few hours later I got a call from Mike telling me the repair was complete and could they drop off the grill. I said sure and how much did I owe them. I was then informed I didn't owe them anything. I cannot thank them enough. I especially want to shout out Ernie, Mike and the owners , Mark and Alex Jaconski who run an exceptional business.

Stanley's is the classic small business the neighborhood wants to keep in place for their needs big and small. I've been a customer at diamond tool for more than 15 years, last week I rented a breaker for my…read moreskid steer. As soon as it was attached and engaged hydraulic fluid was pouring out. Where the coupling attached to the hose part of a broken o-ring was sticking out. I called diamond and the best they could do was give me a new o-ring. Leave site, go to my shop for wrenches, return to site, remove broken o-ring, go to diamond, return to site and fix the breaker. The non original o-ring dripped slightly and I returned the breaker the next morning. The rental manager Matt, didn't apologize and said if they sent someone to the site for repair I would be charged?? I told him action rental never charges for a repair and Perhaps I should go there in the future. The drama queen said "I won't be threatened ". I will cancel my account. At least apologize for the inconvenience, loss of time and a gallon of hydraulic fluid. A long term customer expects far better service. Tried to call Kevin the manage. too busy and voicemail full. Over the years I have spent thousands, renting breakers, core drills, jumping jack tampers, trailer compresso, rock hound, etc. As well as purchasing Bosch, Milwaukee and other tools, masonry bits, diamond wheels and tons of safety gear. There accounting of how much business I've given them is on par with customer service. Renter beware, unlike other tool rental companies these people expect you to pay for repair needed that has nothing to do with your use. I put up with the lethargic counter service for years but the arrogance and disrespect is Unacceptable.
