TERRIBLE service for delivery or installation! NEVER AGAIN! If I cannot walk out with what I need I'll go somewhere else .

Refrigerator bought from Lowes is OK, New service plan from Sears is not. My wife and I both work so it was very difficult to schedule two, not one, full days that one of us had to be at home all day to meet the service person. We reported three problems: He fixed one of them by changing the lights. The second - a problem with the ice maker resolved on its own and started making ice mysteriously before the technician arrived on his first visit. We were told on the first visit that he had ordered a part to fix a broken shelf, but on the second visit, were told that this was not an included repair and we would have to order and install it ourselves. Previously, Lowes worked with a local repair company we could speak with to schedule a specific time so would not have to waste a whole day waiting for the technician. And we could have clarified the issue on the shelf. But there was no opportunity to do that with Sears. Just saw that the total cost was $354 to replace the lights. Happy we didn't pay any of this but seems like someone was ripped off. Todd was pleasant and competent, but the program he works for sucks. read more

Ordered a generator that came in four days late. the worst part was I couldn't track it from the emails or text messages they sent Because it would only show a tool box icon and say " sorry, something is wrong " I called and they said they couldn't get the tracking to work. I called the 1-800 number and got stuck with the AI computer that refused to give me any information or let me talk to a representative. I had to drive 16 miles to ask in person. They found it in Wilmington NC and it came two days later. They sent a text message saying it was delivered and again I would only get the tool box icon that something was wrong. I Googled "does Lowes have problems with online ordering " and a lot of complaints came up. I will order from Home Depot next time. Google shows Home Depot better at ordering online. read more

This store is very poorly managed. Never enough employees. The ones you do find have no idea where anything actually is. Then if by some miracle you manage to find what you're looking for and head up front to check out, THERE ARE NO CASHIERS!!! In the middle of the day! ZERO EXCUSE FOR THIS! They're trying to force everyone to use self checkout. I'm sorry. I DO NOT WORK THERE. I don't get an employee discount for checking myself out, and I will leave a full cart and walk out before I do someone else's job for them. Need store credit, then you better have a good credit profile? But, don't build your credit otherwise they will arbitrarily close your account even if you are paying on the card monthly and then report you to the credit agencies as a charge off. I was recently in your store located in Morehead City. I was having trouble finding the correct coupling needed for a home project. I found one of your associates who was up on a ladder and asked him a question. without hesitation he came down and took me over to the right section, I was totally looking in the wrong area. He not only helped me find the coupling I was looking for and asked if I would mind going to my truck to make sure that this was the correct one. Sure enough it was the one he had suggested. I have been to many hardware stores in the past but I have never received such professional courtesy that your associate gave me. He truly cares about his customers. Do not get any counter tops through Lowes. Their contractor damaged my cabinets while removing the old counter tops. I was without a kitchen for 5 weeks getting the repairs completed. I paid in full and Lowes and their contractor ghosted me. It cost me an additional $700. read more

I like Lowes. I have gotten 3 appliances from them with extended warranties-appliances are not made to last like they were decades ago. When the dryer broke after a year, they sent a repairman out 3 times to fix it. when it still did not work, Lowes called me at the national level and said they would refund my purchase price. The refrigerator I had, they sent a repairman out to fix the ice maker. He did replace a part and it has worked for several yrs now. The Morehead City store has friendly workers who try to help you, if they do not have it in the store, they will order it to see if a close by store has it. read more

This is the absolute worst place to get any kind of building or construction help or materials....Dont Do It!! I waited in the so called Pros line for 30 Mins. while a manager proceeded to wait on 3 other customers that came in after me and where in back of me and to the side of me. I got waited on after actually asking was I invisible... I then placed an order with the so called Pros. What a joke! They ordered 24 inch insulation hangers and 15 inch Insulation, and delivered the wrong thing. I ordered the correct thing! If they are Pros aren't they supposed to know what they are doing? My contractor came to remove the old insulation and when he went to open the new, we found the wrong item wrong size was delivered. I was paying him by the hour. It took 2 extra hours to figure out how to get the correct insulation, and lowes was having no part in delivering the correct stuff that i needed. I had to go down to lowes with my own truck buy the new stuff and they would not pick up or credit the old stuff sitting on a pallet blocking my garage till the following week. Trying to get a manager to speak to or to call me back was like pulling teeth! They absolutely dropped the ball on this order and I had to correct it and then demand my money back...They left me hanging for days telling me the managers were off for 2 days. Come on somebody needs to know about this situation and rectify it for us. Relentlessly I did not give up and threatened to report them to the BBB if they did not give me my money back ASAP! They finally did, but it wasn't with out a lot of hassle and stress! Do your selves a favor DONT GO HERE for anything. They clearly don't care about the customer! read more

DO NOT use Lowe's for delivery or installation. Total joke. Installers from Service Pro's were horrible and committed fraud. They refused to install LPV flooring because the floor was unlevel, it is not. My belief is that they were over booked and didn't want to remove old carpet, so they came up with the floor level excuse. We fired Service Pros as installers and hired our own contractor. Took almost two weeks to get our prepaid installation fee back. Wife spent almost 20 hours on the phone with Lowe's to get our money back. This was in large part because Service Pro's that Lowe's chooses to work with committed fraud and said they already installed the flooring. Lowe's is now conducting a full audit. Lowe's said thanks for us catching that. Then it came to actually getting the carpet delivered. Another nightmare! Talked to various managers, re-scheduled to match our new contractors timeline. Of course, Lowe's punted it once again. Even after confirming several times. Dealing this Lowe's "Third Party" delivery people was just as bad, guy my wife talked to was rude and dismissive on two separate occasions. Finally came down to our contractor going to pick up the carpet from Lowe's. The general gist is that Lowe's has very little oversight of delivery and installation services. Getting a hold of Lowe's management to fix it takes forever and you will most likely end up with nothing more than a hardy "sorry". Stay away!! read more

On my second visit, a gentleman in plumbing took the time to find a screwdriver to disassemble the pool plumbing part to which I was trying to fit a part. Don't buy anything from Lowe's in Morehead City and expect your licensed contractor to be able to pick it up for you. I am a licensed plumber in the area and my customer purchased a vanity for their bathroom and picked it up when the project started. When we opened the box to install it for her the top was broken in several places and it had to be returned to Lowe's and reordered. At the time of the return she was told her contractor could pick up the replacement when it came in. What a load of bull. When we went to pick up the replacement we were told we could not pick it up for her. She lives out of state and they expect her to come to Morehead City and pick it up which is impossible for her. Even having a copy of her paperwork in hand and her on the phone we could not pick it. I will continue to let all my customers know and anyone who will listen to pass up Lowe's and go anyplace else to buy your products. Especially this Lowe's in Morehead City. They are impossible to work with and really could care less about their customers. read more

This MOREHEAD CITY Lowe's is the WORST Lowe's I have ever had to deal with. Unorganized staffing, not willing to help, screws up orders, don't care attitude...are some of the complaints, to name a few. The list goes on and on. Sadly, there aren't many options in the area when need of appliances, flooring or home repair items so we all have to deal whether we like it or not. I'm pretty sure this place is fully aware and that's part of the reason for the crappy service and attitude. In the future, try Cape Carteret Lowes. It's a little further drive, but the employees seem more friendly and willing to help. The appliance and flooring people are also more apt to at least try to help instead of saying sorry about your luck, this isn't my problem. read more

Always rude workers at the returns/service counter as soon you walk in. I still have to shop there weekly for business but am considering going elsewhere. Cashiers are always super friendly. Worst customer service I've received in a LONG time. Purchased a toilet and a pedestal sink two weeks ago and paid to have them delivered. When I purchased the sink there was only one left in the store and I specifically asked the salesman if it would be marked as sold so that it wouldn't get sold to someone else. He told me that they would pull it for delivery. A week and a half later I get a call to confirm my delivery and I'm informed that the sink I PURCHASED was out of stock and that they should receive a shipment of them in on the 12th. I have a plumber scheduled to install them on the 7th.......suffice it to say that that conversation took a nose dive. After arranging for another sink to be delivered over the phone, I'm all set for my 8am to 12pm delivery and the morning comes and goes and I hear from no one. The day goes by and I call the store probably 30 times and can't get thru to anyone. At 6pm I drive to the store only to be told (very casually) that the truck was broken. AND NO ONE BOTHERED TO CALL ME?? There is no excuse for this. Morehead needs another option besides Lowe's. read more

Searching for new washer and dryers, we checked Lowe's against some nearby competitors. The lady in appliances was knowledgeable and directed us to a pair from Samsung which were on an excellent sale. In the end, we purchased the Samsung appliances for over $300 off per item, bringing the total down to $1300. Delivery scheduling was professional and efficient, able to choose a date and time period immediately. At this point, extremely satisfied with their service. However, on the date of delivery, having not been contacted by Lowe's, I called them and spoke to the store manager. He assured me that the delivery was enroute but would call after he spoke to the truck for an update. An hour and a half later, with no phone calls nor delivery, I called again and spoke to the same manager. This time he hemmed and hawed and wondered why his delivery truck had returned to the store. As I waited on the phone with him, it turned out that the deliveries were complete for the day. After ensuring that no one had called us, he searched the store only to find that our items had never been delivered to Lowe's to begin with, hence why they were never on the truck for delivery! Quite irate, I mentioned that he had just a bit earlier told me the items were on the truck. In short, he could offer no explanation why our items were never delivered to the store, nor why we were never called to tell us that delivery could not happen. Certainly by that morning, a professional establishment should have at least called to inform us, "We are sorry; unfortunately, central delivery never sent your appliances. We are working on getting you a new delivery date as soon as possible. We realize that this will require a disruption to your schedule and is an inconvenience to you and again we are sorry." But that didn't happen. However, in that I spoke to the manager earlier and he assured me that it was out for delivery, this is a double whammy on the professionalism of the store. The manager at this point, to his credit, (after we confirmed that he was the senior man at the store), became very helpful in tone although it was too late to do anything substantial. He was not empowered to recall any delivery men (ultimately it would have been for not since Lowe's didn't even have the product, though we didn't know it at the time.) He was able to offer the floor models at 10% off and delivery the next day, which I decided not to accept since floor models have their own history and problems...I would prefer the new model for the extra $130. Finally, I cancelled the order in its entirety and purchased through another vendor. In the end, you will get a great price at Lowes...but you may not get what you paid for. read more

This review is for carpet installer J Ellingsworth, who works for Lowe's. Not Lowe's itself. The bottom line: They're rude, hateful and walked off the job leaving just padding and nails sticking up out of the floor for our kids and animals to get hurt on and didn't care. The owner's wife yelled at me and hung up on me when I called the next morning to find out when we could get the job finished and she said it'd be at least a week before she could get someone out because they had their men assigned to other jobs and she wasn't going to tell customers they had to wait so they could come back and finish my carpet. The details: This company does carpet installs for Lowe's. We were supposed to have our carpet installed within 72 hours from the time of purchase. It was a week before they could get us in. We chose an in-stock carpet so we could get the 72 hour install time, but the installer was too busy to get to us in 72 hours. We didn't like it, but couldn't do much about it. Fast forward a week, they were supposed to be at our house about 1pm. The time comes and goes. By 4:30 we still hadn't heard anything or seen them so I called to find out what was going on. I was told they'd run into trouble earlier and were picking up my carpet and would be to me soon. Oh, and they really should have let me know. Finally they got there about 5:00pm. Apparently it's common practice for them to cut your carpet in the road. That may be okay with some people, but it's not okay with me. We live on a dirt road. They took it down to a section that's paved where the paved part meets two dirt roads. As cars drove by, they kicked dirt up and onto the carpet. Once they cut it, and about 4 or 5 cars had thrown dirt all over it, the rolled it back up, folded it in half and stuck it in the back of their van with the ends hanging out. Rather than put it all the way inside and shut the doors, they just left it hanging out and drove down the dirt road kicking up more dirt onto the carpet. When I voiced my upset, the senior installer became very angry and started yelling at me, saying this is how they always do it and I shouldn't have a problem with it. I have asthma, not to mention I paid for NEW, CLEAN carpet! When I asked why it couldn't be cut at Lowe's, I was told that it could be, but it wasn't going to happen that day, because Angry Installer was going home, and it would be installed whenever the next available install date was which was no time soon. It was about 5:30 in the evening. The padding had already been put in, and tack strips, as well as the metal strips that go between rooms. We didn't realize the nails were sticking up everywhere (we were trying to stay off the floors so we didn't tear the padding) and our young son went to get something out of the master bathroom and stepped on a strip, cutting his toe! They left us with a dangerous situation! Angry Installer could have gone to get the carpet, finished the job, and still been home no later than 8pm and it would have been over with. Instead, we're stuck with unfinished rooms, our bedroom in our kitchen and tetanus to worry about. I called the office the next day and spoke with whom I believe was the owner's wife. She ultimately yelled at me repeatedly (I had to keep asking her to please stop yelling at me) and finally she hung up on me. She told me a full week later was the soonest they could get out to finish my carpet. A WEEK! She said they had their men assigned to other jobs and wasn't going to tell customers they had to wait so they could come back and finish my carpet. Wait...what? I asked her if it was okay to leave my house like this and leave nails sticking up in my floor for my kids and pets to get cut on, and just leave me hanging for a full week with my furniture in my kitchen. She said yes, because I refused the carpet because it was "dusty" and it would have been fine and there was no reason not to have put it in and so I'd have to wait. Also, they drive all the way from Lowe's to your house with the carpet hanging out of the van because it doesn't fit in their vans, so it gets dirty before it even gets to you! She seemed proud of that fact and rubbed it in my face as a kind of "so there!" She was yelling at this point and I was upset and crying when I asked her to please stop yelling at me because I was just trying to understand and I needed my carpet finished, she was yelling that I'd refused it. She said she was going to call corporate Lowe's and I could call them too because they would find me a different installer who could get to me sooner. I told her the other installer for the Morehead City Lowe's is out of Raleigh and they couldn't get here sooner (I'd already been told this by Lowe's) and was trying to explain this to her when she went off at me and hung up. I wouldn't pay these people to do anything. I certainly wouldn't recommend them, and if you're using Lowe's for carpet installation ask for the guys out of Raleigh! read more

My husband and I just bought our first home and after getting estimates from several places we decided on Lowes. The flooring associate Mike talked us into a different flooring as it was on special and in his words would save us money since the laminate came with the under surfacing attached. We get the estimate next day come in and pay. Everything was "on order" and they'd call us when ready for delivery. We get a call over a week later saying they had screwed up our order and that we would have to come back in to get it fixed. We go in and it turns out their screw up is going to cost us another 1000 dollars because their associate neglected to get our order right as well as they didn't include the moisture barrier that would be required so what was supposed to be a special deal ended up costing us more money. We of course filed a complaint and are refunded 500 which in my opinion was their screw up so why are we having to still pay. We had put it behind us and the installers call to setup an install date. They could not do this until the laminate is delivered and acclimated. The delivery was setup for Saturday. We get a call Friday from delivery that they are 20 minutes away. So we had to rearrange our day to be home for their further screwing up. The delivery guy laughs in my husbands face when he informs him he wanted the laminate inside. "It's just me" The delivery man dumps the laminate pallet on our walk way and leaves. What should have been a breezey process has turned into over a month dealing with lowes incompetence and laziness. Update: carpet finally installed. Had to nix laminate due to unleveled floor. (Which no one told us was a possibility.) we were stuck with half our living room torn up for over a week. lowes needs to make sure that they have communication with legacy flooring because they're telling their customers 72 hours and it's installed. The flooring contractor had told us this was not humanly possible and that they wouldn't move our large furniture even though we set up for them to do so.Should not be having to be the middle man. The only reason I am giving more than one star is because of the fact that lowes amended a bit. Just glad we are done dealing with this nightmare. read more

I think that Greg D. must have had an usually bad experience at this Lowe's, because I come here frequently and have never had a problem. I bought my washer and dryer from Lowe's during one of North Carolina's "tax holidays" on EnergyStar appliances, so it was a busy time. The computer was saying that delivery would be at least a week out but the employee who was helping us looked in the system manually and saw that there was an opening the next day. He called a manager to override the system and scheduled our delivery for the very next morning (which was even a Sunday). We ended up receiving our appliances less than 24 hours after purchasing them. The men who delivered our washer and dryer were also very professional and respectful of our home. They explained all the bells and whistles to us and tested to make sure everything was in good working order. I also really appreciate Lowe's giving 10% off everything everyday with a military ID. They even apply that discount on already discounted merchandise. It's worth it to me to drive the 15 minutes to Lowe's (instead of looking at Walmart) for the better selection and service and to support a business that so consistently supports the military. read more

Lowe's Carpeting Department really needs a lesson on customer service. They have so much business they don't need yours. My first call to flooring department I introduced myself as a first time carpet customer. She was not amazed or excited or happy. When asked about estimates she interrupted and said they do not give estimates over the phone. When asked about price range she did the same. I just needed a general idea. She sounds like she doesn't like her job, or doesn't like customers. After several call backs I finally got them to schedule a guy to take measurements. He was awesome! Then two days passed and still no call back from Lowe's to follow up. So I called only to get some guy from paint who doesn't work there but is there because Maggie is out. I think she's over worked or maybe something happening in her personal life that's affecting her work ethics. Anyhooo. I finally get Maggie who then isn't too thrilled I'm calling. She says she'll get back to me before the day ended and again never heard from her. So I call the next afternoon and of course I get a clueless guy helping out flooring department who promises to jot down everything (probably in the invisible notebook with invisible ink) and get back to me. Needless to say I gave my business to Cheap Charlie's in Havelock and I am sincerely impressed by their customer service and absolutely fantastic work!!!! Lowe's flooring get it together. read more

Love the items that I purchased but can't enjoy them Had the worst experience. Got my refrigerator installed. The installer cracked the water spout and it leaked all night and day. My carpet and flooring was soaked and flooded. I called to complain about it. They turned it on me. Its been 6 days later and nothing has been handled. My house smells bad and I hope my walls do not start to mold because of my house being warm. Just left the check out in the lumber department. The contractors register was the only one open & he was having problems with the customers credit card. Approximately 5 other employees was standing around talking to each other!! FInally, after about 10- 15 minutes and several customers waiting in line, two of the employees took there place at register 1 & 2! I ordered three items on line because the items are not carried in the store. I ordered the items on the 7th of March. Two of the items were supposed to be delivered on the 9th of March and the third item on the 10th. On the 9th I called the store 4 times and never got through. I went to the store and the lady at customer service started talking to me until the phone rang, She put the person on hold and went off to do something and came back 6 minutes later and started speaking to me again looking into my issue. Another employee came up and spoke to her and then she remembered that she had this person on hold. She stayed on the phone for a few minutes. Finally she got back to me. One of the items I ordered showed up on her computer but the other two didn't. I showed her my paper work and she said that the items had not come in. The morning of the 10th I called the store to see if the items were in. I was put on hold for 18 minutes when finally someone came on the phone to help me. Two of the items I ordered were listed incorrectly and were not in yet. The other item that was suppose to be in on the 10th was not in. The other two items were listed as my middle initial and my last name, and had the wrong phone number. I was told that someone has to look into it and that I will get a call back from the store. This experience has me wondering if I will ever order on line again and have the items sent to the store. I have ordered on line before and had it delivered to the house with no problem. Reading some of the reviews I see that there is a problem with there store delivery system. I am very dissatisfied with this transaction and still do not have the items that I have already paid for. read more

One day last week as I was walking into Lowes Home Improvement Warehouse, in Morehead City, NC., a stranger approached me, and asked if I could lend him some time, and hold his muffler in place on his scooter while he bolted it up. As I was standing there, the new manager came by with someone else, who was holding a pad, and taking notes. He inquired as to what we were doing, I the good Samaritan, said I was holding his muffler as he the owner was bolting it up. The manager then said thanks for buying our tools, but take your work off the property and work on it somewhere else. Not only will I take myself off the property, but I will take all my business off the property. Furthermore, he is now only offering the 10% discount to Veterans that have a photo ID, not all Veterans as the last managers did. I believe Veterans need to stand together and Boycott this new manager. I was told the last manager was a Veteran, and this one is not. The new manager has also made changes on returning merchandise. read more
