Pretty frustrated by the pickup service. We ordered a few bulky items online that had a hefty shipping price so we looked at the nearest stores to pick them up. We ordered them online around 11am and eventually arrived around 3pm after and hour drive. The pickup desk seemed closed and there was no one around at the returns desk to ask for help. Walking around the store we asked an employee if we could just load the items ourself since we saw them available in their section. He seemed more confused by what we were asking and told us to ask up front. Eventually we were able to ask a staff member who told us the order was "in process" right before she called for someone else to pick the order. That staff member came up and told us it would be 15 minutes and we watched her go and get it. This is why we stick with the Avon one. read more

I ordered carpet from Lowe's and they sent the wrong one but I went ahead with it. Then I tried to get the one I ordered but customer relations wouldn't do it because I told them to go ahead and install it. Lane from customer relations checked into it and did tell me that the one I had installed is the one I ordered but it is not and my sister was with me. The gal that rang it up rang it up wrong. Anyway he did say that I do deserve a compensation. He called me and said they would send me 250 dollars after I sign the paperwork thru email. I'm not going to sign. This is your standard Lowe's but a bit smaller than some of the newer Lowe's. I'm here often during Spring purchasing potting soil and a few summer annuals. The patio and outdoor garden area has several helpful and knowledgeable staff who have been here for several years. Depending on what project we've working on depends on which department I'm visiting the most at the time. Then of course, as with most of us, there is always those items that need replaced or repaired throughout the year. It seems like we're at Lowe's or one of their competitors weekly. Prices are competitive with most home center stores. The prices here for lumber is currently outrageous (2×4 was $3 now $10) as it is everywhere in the country. Not only is lumber outrageous but anything construction related. I find most departments are laid out well where I can find what I need. However, there are instances where I need help and I have to track down an employee. I find with the employees they are either knowledgeable and friendly plus can answer my questions or their just there for a paycheck and have little interest in helping. I guess that's the situation with every business especially now with the struggle to hire staff. The paint department is incredibly helpful at this Lowe's. The staff can recommend the best types and options of paint including the brushes, tapes, stencils, etc. Other than being overly crowded on the weekends, which they appear to try and staff for most days, I've been very satisfied with the paint employees. I've purchased flooring here and it was in stock and ready for immediate pickup by the contractor. The contractor's schedule was flexible, he was easy to work with, did a great job, respectful of our home and tidy. We would definitely use him again. All in all, we find what we need and we're satisfied when we shop here. We're not excited about the number of self-serve checkouts compared to the one, maybe 2, manned checkouts. If I have one or two items self-serve is fine but that rarely happens with us. Please add more cashiers behind the register. read more

Continuously a disappointment. I cant even count the number of issues we've had with deliveries. Always excuses about truck being broken, and canceled our orders without notification. Today we have been sitting at curbside with three other cars for over 55 minutes while seeing multiple workers walk aimlessly past between the parking lot and store. Called them and was told to just come in because they are busy and dont have time haha what a joke. Told them not my problem, do your jobs. Curbside is always ignored here. Management does not care and never addresses issues. How does the store 2 minutes from home always take longer than home depot across town? Do better. read more

Don't pay for (schedule) a appliance delivery unless you are into being disappointed. On more than one occasion I have ordered an appliance only to be stood up and when I can finally get through to someone I was told it was still out a week. the "customer service Rep" suggested I call the warehouse and when I asked my "customer Service Rep" to call for me and get this resolved she informed me that "all I can do is look at my computer" I cant make calls for customers. We visited this particular Lowe's near Speedway to pick up some items for hanging lights and wood for a cabinet project. The staff was friendly and helpful in pointing us in the right direction. My Husband & I bought a new $2,000 Craftsman Riding Lawn Mower from the West 10th Street Lowe's this month and, while we absolutely LOVE our Mower, their Customer Service was VERY disappointing! The BEST things about this Store is that they are a large enough retailer to carry this brand at reasonable prices; their website is really easy to navigate; and, their local Delivery Representative, Charles, was a TRUE professional! Charles, unlike the rest of the Associates I spoke with, was polite, professional, on time, empathetic and, most importantly, showed INTEGRITY by personally calling back the following day to help correct the "wrong" made by the Store's delivery schedule and the condition of our Mower. You see... The 1st problem occurred when I ordered our Mower online. The site offered me the option for the time of delivery, for which I chose 12n-4p. In response, my Husband & I both took time off to be available specifically during that period. I even called that morning to confirm our delivery, for which a Lady assured me that our Mower had just been loaded & would be here as promised. At a quarter to 4p, I called back to check on the status of our delivery. I was kept on-hold for such a long period of time that I hung up & called back twice. By the time I finally reached someone, a Man answered & said that our Mower had just been loaded & was out for delivery... just like the Lady had claimed earlier that morning! I explained that my Husband & I had already cleared our scheduled from 12n-4p waiting for our Mower, and it was almost 5p then. That's when the Man explained that the delivery schedule was actually 8a-8p, not the 12n-4p option that was offered to us online. I was livid! He assured me that, since we were just 2 Exits from the Store, the Driver should be there in less than 20 minutes. He even offered to call the Driver while we stayed on the line. As luck would have it, we were disconnected as he tried to put me on-hold & the phone continued ringing, with no answer, the 2 times I tried calling back! (Btw, he had our information right in front of him & he could have called me back; but, he never did!) Now we come to the 2nd problem which occurred when our Mower was finally delivered at 7p!!! When the Driver (Charles) unloaded the Mower, my Husband noticed that the key was already in the ignition & that the ignition was in the "On" position. He expressed concerned & soon realized that the Mower was loaded with a COMPLETELY DEAD BATTERY!! With everything that we had already gone through, my Husband was pretty upset. But, Charles was so understanding, apologetic & such a WONDERFUL ambassador for the Company that my Husband agreed to accept the Mower on the condition that he'd use our own charger for the battery. And, if that didn't work, Lowe's would have to make it right the next day. Charles agreed. I called the Store to tell them what happened & all the Lady I spoke with said was, "Oh, I'm sorry." Thank GOD the 10th Street Store has at least ONE Associate (Charles) who knows what TRUE Customer Service is all about! He even called me back the following day to personally check to make sure that our battery took a charge, to apologize for our less-than-pleasant experience & to assure us that he would have personally brought us a new battery, if necessary... My wife asked to stop at a nearby hardware store while we were on the west side of Indy, so this one popped up on Yelp! After winding around the maze of patched roads that lead back to the store near 10th & 465, we grabbed a spot and headed inside. One of the features of big box businesses is that they tend to have only one or two layouts, so we soon found our way to the outdoor area that is still inside the building. Ultimately, after asking for assistance, we were directed to the outdoor area on the outside where the store carried what we were looking for at an affordable price. They had some higher end options as well, but we were able to make do with the ones with the lowest prices. The only knock, and I see it at a lot of hardware stores, is that there tend to be clusters of employees talking away right in the middle of an aisle, not paying any attention to the customers. If you don't butt in and say, "can one of you please help me find this item", they ignore you. Fortunately, my wife stopped one individual as he was walking from another area and he looked it up on the computer for us. Once we got to that area, another employee pointed it out. As you can see from my photos I needed to strip two layers of paint from my wood bookshelf, so off to Lowes I went to purchase supplies. Since I had never stripped paint before I spoke with a paint department associate to get a recommendation on the best paint stripper to use. CitriStrip Gel was recommended due to the size of the job. She also recommended I buy two finishing pads to remove any small bits left after scraping the paint off my project and a cheap throwaway brush. We discussed the fact that I had gloves and a scraper. While standing there with her I read the application instructions and they sounded simple enough...paint the gel onto the bookcase and it would strip up to 7 layers of paint in as little as 30 minutes and keeps working up to 24 hours after application. My first test was after a couple of hours and some areas had bubbled up but in other areas the paint was still firmly adhered to the surface...24 hours go by and no change! So I decided that I must not have put the gel on thickly enough so I reapply using the entire quart of stripper. Check again in 24 hours...no change!! Then I had to wait 2 days for the gel to completely dry before I tried stripping it again. You can see what I'm left with...this "stripper" actually stripped very little paint off of this bookcase. Silly of me to assume that a home improvement store would actually stock an effective product!!! Apparently my first step should have been doing some online research to get some recommendations from the professionals. So, after checking several online sites I find that CitriStrip is not one of the top 5 most recommended paint strippers (and I totally see why - yes it smells great but I wasn't particularly looking for a pleasant smelling product). And much to my surprise when checking Lowes (and Menards) to find pricing on one of the top 5 strippers, I discovered that neither store sells any of them. Guess I will try to find a local mom and pop hardware store that carries a decent paint stripper or I will be sanding all of this remaining paint off by hand (which I've already done to the outside of the bookcase). So frustrating to spend $30+ dollars on supplies to make this job easy and then be forced to spend literally hours scraping and sanding 1/2 of this bookcase. I'm wondering why Lowes (or Menards for that matter) doesn't stock a paint stripper that is on the top 5 recommended list. My not unrealistic goal for this project was apply the stripper outside, leave it for an hour or two, easily scrap the paint off and finish the project with a bit of final sanding. The upside to this review is that I have never had a negative customer service issue at this particular Lowes and my 2 star rating is based on the interaction with the associate who recommended the best product Lowes had available, made sure I had the supplies I needed and was very pleasant. Not surprisingly, she wasn't able to answer specific questions about the product but the directions were simple enough that a 5th grader could have followed them. read more

8/4/15 Ordered a front door... so you pay a $35 fee to have a contractor come out and measure what you need as far as door goes. And if your home was built before 1978 you also get to pay $16 for a lead test. That is as far as I got... Now I wait for the contractor to contact me to set an appointment to come out to my house and measure the door. Supposedly they have 2 days to contact me for the appointment. Day one is almost over and nothing happened so far. Then they will call me with estimate on labor, then I get to come in and pick out the door, make another appointment and have it installed... soooo, I will update this review as each step is completed... wish me luck... 8/7/15 Well, looks like I will need to buy a door from somewhere else. Lowe's called to tell me that I can now come in and pick out what door I would like to order. I said, how can this be since no one had contacted me for an appointment yet, even so we were on day 3 (I was trying to be patient). So I was told, the contractor just went by my house and measured on his own accord. I asked, why I didn't get an appointment as promised (and given in writing nonetheless), because I had concerns on whether I could save my storm door in that deal or not, also please explain how they conducted a lead test without being able to get in the house, which leads us to the question as to why someone is trampling around my property with no trespassing posted. I told him to get with them and tell them to try again, call me for an appointment and take proper measurements and lead test in my presence or I want a refund. I was then told that the contractor felt that wasn't necessary. I don't care for that answer. I went through Lowe's so I would have a reliable contractor. Then I'm told it's up to the contractor what he wants to do and lastly that this wasn't on him, so he can't help me and I can stop by whenever I want to order my door... Time for a supervisor, who of course conveniently won't be in for a week. The person above the supervisor apparently just quit their job and the position is vacant. The person above this one is the store manager... cool I talk to him then. I try to explain the situation and he said he would check with the Install Department. I received a call from their manager within minutes.. Great I thought. Not so I found out. She tells me that the reason nobody came out was because I didn't pay for it yet. What? doesn't this completely conflict with the first phone call I received? I am trying to tell her that and she keeps interrupting me telling me that I didn't pay, harping that she has no record of payment, asking well how did they file it, under my name or the order number or as it a duplicate record? I told her that I had no way of knowing this because obviously I do not work at Lowe's and have no clue how they file or enter their information. Then she gets even crabbier with me and demands I tell her???? Huh???? Offered to fax my receipt in. While I am writing her a fax, trying to let her know what the original caller had told me and how this cannot be the case at the same time with the no-pay that she was accusing me off, cause she kept cutting me off in mid-sentence, she called back. Strangely enough now my receipt was found and what kind of door would I like to purchase... I told her, I still want somebody to make an appointment with me and come out in my presence to look at this door or otherwise I want a refund for the full amount. Ok I bought a new house and surprisingly they don't give you a refrigerator so I went into lowes to see what options they had. I found a very nice GE French door refrigerator on sale. The staff was very helpful. I placed my order and had the, deliver it after I took possession of my new house. Delivery was great. They took off the doors to get it into place and hooked up the water supply line. I also picked a GE front loader washer and dryer also on sale, but the person said those were only at the Avon Lowe's so I was able to get those from there. Then I realized I needed a water softener and talked to the plumbing dept. they either offer take and install yourself or provide installation as well. I got the installation and softener. I picked an AO Smith as I have had a water heater from them. They got it installed and I had an issue a few months later so they got a new one to replace it. The store is helpful but busy. If you can go during the workweek right at 5:30 pm it will be less busy. read more

My wife and I were shopping for some Christmas lights and decorations at the beginning of December. We expected to find what we needed without much help from the staff. However we were looking at a couple of items that were sold out and we asked one of the employees if we could buy the display model. That is when employee Braden Havics went above and beyond the level of customer service that we expected and traditionally have received. Brandon not only offered to take down the display model, but also asked if we had a moment so that he could check to see if he could get approval to discount the item because it was the last one. He then not only provided us with a better price, but he also tested the lights on the decoration to ensure they worked properly. One of the bulbs were out and he proceeded to open another box to replace the light bulb that was causing the entire strand to not work properly. Braden had a real engaging conversation with my wife and I and made us loyal customers to his location. We have since bought multiple other items from this same Lowe's store and Braden came and greeted us and suggested Christmas decorations that were on final clearance. He even suggested a large decorative Christmas tree that we purchased for my office at work. Braden's kindness, along with attention to detail and overall client focus is what will enable him to be successful in whatever career he chooses. It also is what will keep customers coming back to this Lowe's location. We recently had a horrible ordeal with a fence purchased at Lowe's that was caused by the instillation company and took nearly a year to reach a final resolution. This alone would be reason enough for someone to avoid a store. It's dedicated employees like Braden that can make people forget about the past mistakes of others within the same company. In a society where so many people want to pass you off to someone else or say that they are out of an item; Braden's approach is refreshing and exactly how customers should be treated if a company expects them to be loyal customers for life. There is a lack of handicap parking and no carts were available when I walked in. The topper was: only 2 lanes were open; both lines going down the aisles. Left lane was moving. The right lane I was in was at a dead stop. I asked the lady in paint to please call a manager and get more lanes open. Then we discover the lane I'm in has 2 lines formed and people are starting to bicker about who was there first, etc. Finally after 15-20 minutes, some one comes to open a lane but she opens next to the left lane that is moving smoothly so the right lane continues to bicker. How hard could it have been for a manager to get two clerks and steer one of the lines to a new open register closer to the right lane that had 2 lines? read more

I ordered an oven and was calling about my delivery. I was on hold for 15 minutes with customer service then transferred to delivery department where I was not repainted to for 7 minutes finally she got on the line and said "let me get my computer working" and it was dead air for 7 minutes. I asked the lady about my delivery and she did not have an answer for me, even though the store told me it would be delivered today. I asked her, "where was the disconnect? We were told two were coming in Saturday and would get to us by this date". She responded that "well that guy doesn't even work in appliances he is in gardening so he shouldn't have said none of that" so then I asked "well can you tell me then when I WILL have my oven?" She said "no. If there is one at a different store then I can maybe get it to you by Thursday." I said "what if there isn't one in a different store? When will I get it?" She said "idk I will call you" Then hung up. I called back to talk to a manager was on hold for 10 minutes and then got a busy signal. I I understand that right now it is hard with supply chains, I also understand that delivery can be messy. However I was reassured when I went to buy the oven that there were some in stock and if not there would be two more coming on Saturday, and they would get one to me at the latest by today. Went here for specific items that their website indicated were in stock and gave their "supposed" exact location in the store. I browsed the seasonal aisle when I first arrived. I was greeted while there and asked if I needed assistance. I declined and decided to make my way over to the storage and organization area. After finding the aisle and bay number indicated on Lowe's website, I didn't see the item I wanted. I searched the entire aisle only to come up short. After getting some help in the area, my desired item was found in a nearby "overstock" area stacked high near the ceiling approximately 30 minutes later. The item required a lift, and no driver was available that evening. However, the employees (LeQuitta and Todd) assisting were determined and eventually were able to get them using an individual lift. Another item I wanted wasn't easily accessible, but they said they would have it ready for me to purchase the next day when equipment drivers were available. Of course they weren't ready the next day, and I had to relocate the item again. I also attempted to purchase a clearance item another location was suppose to have in stock, according to the website, only to be called by Lowe's a short time later to be told they sold out around Christmas. So...all this to say, don't count on their website being accurate. read more

We've been to this lowe's multiple times since moving and I wanted to make sure to share our positive story. We were painting our master bedroom, so to pick a color we got a gallon of paint from the Lowe's in Brownsburg and later picked up another gallon but this Lowe's. Apparently the colors were different even though we provided the same paint chip, but when we told the manager our situation he took us over to the paint counter and gave us a free gallon of paint for our trouble. I bought some flowers here on this past Thursday. Over $100 worth at the time. I have made sure because it is 95°+ to water them twice a day. The sales associate said I spoke to told me I was drowning the flowers, right before telling me I should water them probably 2/3 times a day... I can't say I'm surprised... such a shame because this store is so close to my Speedway home. I spent 2000.00 on a new washer/dryer set and for Lowes to install it. We scheduled a day in the store about 2 weeks out. I hadn't heard anything by 2pm the day before so I reached out to try and get some kind of delivery window. They said they couldn't guarantee a delivery time. I tried to explain that my wife and I both work and we didn't work close to home and tried to see if some kind of reasonable timeframe could be established. I was told no in no uncertain terms and the lady was very curt and borderline rude. Apparently their drivers schedule the route the morning of delivery... which is ridiculous and extremely unprofessional. I'm thinking about canceling my order at this point. Not too sure what to say other than it's your typical Lowe's. Decent enough selection and prices. It isn't always easy to find what you're looking for - we always seem to be roaming the place looking for more choice in grass seed, for example. The garden center, like our local park swimming pool, seems to clear out way too early towards the end of the season...or are we procrastinators? Still, the beginning of September is a good time to get good deals on some garden pieces. The massive, cheesy, inflatable black dragon they seem to sell every Halloween (yes the Halloween stuff is out early September) always puts a smile on my face. Service is hit or miss. I have two competing feelings when I walk into a big box home store like Lowe's: "Ugh, look at all this crap!" and "I can make stuff with all this crap!" My experience here was along the lines of what you'd expect. Some workers in some departments were helpful, others were not so much. The guy in lumber was extremely nice, but gave me bad advice. The guy in plumbing was brusque, but helped me find what I needed. The guy in hardware only came after I pressed the help button four times, but he was great when he showed up (looking like the guy who would play the small-town hardware store owner in a 1955 film, kinda sad). In the end, it was a mixed bag. And I spent way too much money on materials for my project, but I can't entirely blame Lowe's for that. read more

I am going to keep this as short and to the point as possible. I waited 2 months to get 124 feet of a privacy fence installed with 2 gates. There's a national pretreated wood shortage thanks to Covid so it took longer to get the materials for my project. I paid $3,100 for this "fencing" and was cussed out, hung up on, and had a racist comment made to me (the crew lead thought it was a miracle that I hadn't had my lumber stolen from my yard with "all the Mexicans around here") all within the 3 days it took to have the Lowe's crew install this. The project lead actually made the excuse that it's difficult for him to get the work done because he just had to fire 4 men because they were all high on meth. All I want is this BS removed from my property and I want a full refund and to never deal with Lowe's EVER again. There's only been one associate that has even tried to help me. The "fencing coordinator" is claiming that I have to give their crew a chance to fix this, but 3 days of work on what I was told would take a day and a half- tops- was more than enough time to fix this. Abysmal customer service. My fiance and I spent over an hour here trying to buy a dryer on 7/15/13. We were told it would take over a week to deliver the dryer even though they have signs advertising next day delivery (no fine print). We let them know that was false advertising and they should take the signs down or put an asterisk stating when available. On the day of delivery, 7/23/13, our new dryer had a very noticeable scratch on the front of it. When we noticed, they offered 10% off the dryer. We declined and told them to bring back one that wasn't scratch. Now, over a week later, we still have no dryer and have to wait until tomorrow to even talk to a manager. Lord knows when they will be able to deliver the next one. We won't be returning to this Lowe's in the future. read more

I have a cancels order and Lowe's failed to refund my $100 gift card- despite multiple promises that "you will get it in the next few days". Have been two weeks and called corporate customer service multiple times and all they do was transfer me to this store then I hear the same lip service. Lowes refuses to provide a military discount unless you have a DD214 WITH you. Even though my driver's license has the military insignia on the back stating that I am a veteran, they would not allow the discount. We asked to speak to the store manager and he absolutely refused to go "outside of policy". He also continued to remind me that the discount was a privilege. I guess he forgot about the privilege of living in a free country that he gets because of the many veterans that fought for him. After spending 10's of thousands of dollars at Lowes over the years-we will not be back. I immediately went to Home Depot where they were absolutely glad to take my driver's license as proof of veteran status. This is a shameful practice. read more

Manager is a useless man full of hot air and no answers. They advertise items on sale and when you go to the internet to purchase them, you can't find a store in the entire country that has them in stock, I know I sat and tried a zip code per state one night. So you can't order them and have them transported to the store nearest you. Manager nor customer service desk personnel could explain this one away as I stood there while they searched various store locations for the item I wanted but offered to upsell me a diff. brand for $40 more. No place I will bother to shop at again. read more

How about 0 negative....may 6 2016 I stopped in this store while there I needed to go use the bathroom very badly....basically I had to take a dump....I walk in the restroom it was fucking disgusting....trash cans way over full so much that trash falling onto the floor....well I go to use the stall...two of them was not flushed and one had piss all over the seat...so I went ahead flushed one then I discover none of the stalls had any fucking toilet paper I couldn't believe it....I had to get paper towels from where you dry your hands....they definitely don't care about cleanliness....wasn't the first time I went in there and it's nasty read more

Don't have any work done by this Lowe's!! I had a deck built by their contractors. It took them 6 months to finish and now a year later the deck is falling apart (exposed nails, splitting wood...)! The managers and the install people just keep giving me the run around and refuse to honor their warranty to fix the shoddy work! read more

Took one hour to pick up an internet order, when I got there, I found the point I ordered had to be tired. Why offer to have a color ready if you need me to do it when u get there. They already took my money. Then they couldn't find parts of my order. 2 items were never found and it will take the7-10 business days to credit my account. Seriously? It took two seconds to debit it. Here is the worst part. I ordered it to the wrong store, ok, my fault. So I called on Friday to make sure it was ready. Great. Is that customer service. Then the manager mocked me for saying I came a long way (10 miles vs. 2 miles to the one close to me.) YHEN I overheard a girl telling someone about the order and saying we don't even carry them in the store, of course they aren't here. True that, genius, that's why it was an internet to store order. Finally, the one girl that should have been helping at the storage bins up front couldn't be bothered with helping me even though the poor last at the counter couldn't help and had no let's to check.
