Dont buy your appliances here. Bought a dishwasher (bosch) and discovered the unit vents inside the cabinet cavity. within 3 loads there was water dripping out from behind the unit (condensation from the venting). Faulty design. Store manager was like talking to a robot. This was 3 days after install. Spoke with manager and said 24hr return policy and basically best of luck and call bosch which is many hours of hoops to jump thru. Repeat product isnt broken, but designed with a serious flaw. If you have the bosch 300 and maybe others and with a vent on the left side watch out, you will have issues. Lowes has really lost their way. Got to a local appliance dealer and pay a little more if needed, not worth the headache dealing with this terrible place. read more

Purchase the product there and find someone else to install. Their new installation department will give you heart attack, stroke or thought of pulling your hair out. Totally worthless Installation department messed up order from the get go. 1721 feet of interior/exterior that $1/foot, slab door instead of door with frame, tried charging for additional unneeded/unnecessary items, sent me receipts for $1600 "charged" onn a different credit card without my permission (they didn't actually charge but super lame explanation). I had to set up my own installation with the 3rd and 4th party myself then the installation department texts me that it's been sc. Duh, I know, did it myself. Lowe's store (Millworks) was fabulous. I like the store, like the service, but watch out for their credit cards! Opened an account to buy a washer and drier. Month later received the bill and called their phone number for the balance on the account. Was told, "The balance on your account as of today is, 1,740.59." So, I paid it off. 6 months later I learn that they have been charging $ 3 + every month as interest! The account was closed, but the interest continues. Called to ask why when I paid off the "balance due" and my account was 0.00, I was being charged a monthly charge. "It's in our new terms and conditions" was the often repeated phrase! After shopping around for doors we decided to go with Lowes to find a custom door to fit our needs and the style of our 1920's craftsman home. After waiting six months for our custom Pella doors we got them installed. Installation was pretty seamless and the installation person they sent was on time, professional and friendly. Front door was as expected but backdoor is the wrong color. We ordered black and received navy. So they installed a navy door with black trim and black hardware and just left as if this was acceptable. Icing on the cake was the crooked door handle. Absolutely terrible. We normally have a great experience with Lowes but this was a HUGE letdown. Just a warning to anyone looking for doors + installation services. AVOID. read more

I was at Lowes on Plainfield, Grand Rapids, Mi. Used the fast checkout. The woman, a bit elderly, was quite rude. She reached around me, as if a hug and entered something on the keypad. AND she called me HONEY. I said I am not your honey. She acted miffed and said what should I call you. I think she should just say something like can I help you, thank you for shopping here, or the like. What does she call the men? Lover, lambshop, baby, WHAT. This was at fast lane, 1-24-25, 10:59:20. My wife and I went looking for pressure-treated plywood at the Plainfield store at 8 p.m. on 6/5/2024. We split up, and I looked for the plywood but couldn't find it. I asked an associate, and she described where she thought it was -- it wasn't. I asked another associate, and was treated to a roll of his eyes. He described the same spot. No good. My wife rejoined me, and made the mistake of asking the eye roller where the treated plywood was. Again, he described the same spot and, pointing at me, said "just like I just told HIM." Finally, we asked one of the cashiers to check for us. Sure enough, they didn't have any. They had piled OSB where the treated plywood was supposed to be. The eye roller was too stupid to know there was no stock, too lazy to look for it, and arrogant enough to irritate us by pretending his myriad shortcomings were our fault. To top it off, my wife got in line behind one other customer to check out with a single item -- and it took nearly 15 minutes. So, if you like shopping where there's a shortage of merchandise but a plethora of lazy, incompetent, and arrogant employees, then Lowe's Plainfield is right where you want to be! read more

I used Lowe's services for a deck install that began in May of 2023. It has now been nearly 10 months and the deck is still unfinished. I have spent hours and hours and hours with various contacts within the local store as well as the corporate office and have not been able to get my deck install completed. Simply getting a parts order entered correctly and delivered has been a near-impossible task. The work the contractors did complete was not up to code and damaged various part of our house. It has been the single most insanely incompetent customer service experience of my entire life. If I could give zero stars I would. The customer service here is a joke. We bought a Fridgedair dishwasher in August 2022. Upon installing it we noticed a small dent in the bottom. It was not a scratch and dent, but had one. As we used it, it started etching my glasses and my Rubbermaid brilliance. See pictures. I called Lowes spoke with the appliance manager, she said it was past the time we could return that I needed to tell Fridgedair what was going on and that they would give me a gift card to get something else. Really? I knew that was ridiculous but could not even believe she told me that. I did call Fridgedair and they have sent a tech out twice, he said it is installed correctly, I'm using the Cascade Platinum in it and clearly there is something wrong with it. He suggested I call Lowes again. Here's where it gets better. I call there is no manager in appliances at this time 7 pm. Ok whatever obviously the last person in appliances had no idea what she was talking about. So I ask for the store director. They transfer me to a store manger. She answers hi this is Kate. I tell her why I am calling. After telling the whole story she asks when I bought it. I say I already told you that. She says, sorry I'm multitasking right now. Um ok. So then she tells me to call the manufacturer. Which I already explained to her that I had done all that so then I say apparently you're not listening to anything I'm saying. Her answer, I'm trying to do two things at once, and I'm not really sure what you want me to do for you. She was incredibly rude during the whole conversation. If this is the best Lowe's can do for a store manager they have some issues. read more

I have shopped the Plainfield Lowes for years, but they are going downhill fast. We just spent a lot of money on new kitchen appliances, and they were delivered 11/09/22, and the delivery people were planning on just delivering to the garage. This is after we were told that they would take the old ones out and put them in the garage, and bring the new ones in to the house. I was able to get the delivery people to at least swap out the refrigerator. On the 26th we noticed that the fridge temp was not right, a bit too warm. Called Lowes and after multiple attempts finally got customer service to connect me to a supervisor. (The people in appliances would not answer, and the one time they did, they just picked up and then hung up.) So the supervisor basically informed me that because I would not fork out an additional $185 for their protection plan, they would not help me. That I had needed to inform them that my $2000+ fridge was defective within 48 hours. So here I am with a refrigerator that will not cool down to below 43° waiting for the manufactuer to come and repair it. ETA Between 12/05 and 12/12 depending when the needed parts arrive at my house. They will not get anymore of our money. They are not the only game in town. read more

After scrolling through the reviews regarding Lowes on Plainfield it's not surprising to see so many one star reviews. This store isn't deserving of one star. Walking on hot coals or a bed of nails would be less painful and more productive than dealing with the incompetent employees who work at Lowes. This past July I had Cali LVT flooring installed by Lowes. Long story short it was put in incorrectly. The installer never bothered to check if the subfloor was level...it wasn't. Then the installer didn't bother to put a moisture barrier pad down so when you walked on the floor it would move up and down! He admitted a mistake was made. Instead of padding Gabby the floor manager sent $528.00 dollars worth of cement which turns out was a mistake and she admitted it until management got involved and then Gabby and the installer changed their tune. To add insult to injury the incompetent installer ruined half of my baseboards. When taking out the old floor he cracked the baseboards. After reporting Lowes to the BBB I finally got a response from an executive from Lowes Customer Relations. After battling with Lowes for months they finally agreed to remove the floor and give me a full refund. Story over? Not by a long shot. Remember how the installer ruined my baseboards? Well, it's now the end of November and I'm still trying to get Lowes to compensate me for the ruined baseboards. If Lowes thinks I'm going to get tired and go away they are sadly mistaken. I have never been treated so poorly by a company. Every person I've dealt with from the local and headquarter level has been rude and incompetent. I will never step foot in a Lowes store again. If you're thinking of doing any home improvement project do yourself a favor and don't give Lowes your business. Lowes is a big box store who doesn't care about customers and the people who work there couldn't find their way out a paper bag if both ends were open. Shane and Gabby who are managers at Lowes on Plainfield Ave, Ricky from Installation Services and Nate from Nice and Neat installers should all be held accountable for their incompetence and then fired. Ordered countertop for my bathroom and given expectation that product would be installed in 6 weeks. It took 6 months to get the product installed. We spoke with managers and staff multiple times, consistently being told they didn't know what the issue was, but someone would call back within 48 hrs. We rarely received those call backs. At one point we were told the counters had not been ordered and we were starting the 6 weeks timeline over again! I also requested multiple times to speak with the manager of the store in person and have yet to get a reply. I will not being using Lowes for future home projects. read more

I've been coming to this Lowe's for about a year since I just moved to the area and the staff is usually very friendly but I had the rudest interaction with an old lady named Anna working the self checkout. My girlfriend and I have been doing exterior projects and are buying lots of landscaping stone. We have done the self checkout several times and we take a picture of the barcode and item number and the assistant punches in the code, we tell them how many and we move on for payment. We have done this 5 times this week. Going to checkout on 5/25/21 and as soon as I get to my kiosk, Anna yells at me and says "oh no, you're not doing that there. You need to go somewhere else." I'm all confused as to why she's being so rude and now everyone at self checkout is watching because she's raising her voice to me when I'm just trying to check out. When I explain to her that she can quit yelling at me and that she's being rude, she says that you're not allowed to do self checkout with flowers, stones, mulch, etc. When I ask her when it says that anywhere on the kiosks or where it is posted anywhere, she tells me that it's Lowe's policy. I told her that we have been doing this all week and as long as I have the item number, we could do it. After being extremely rude, she rings up my items and I leave only to have the two couples next to me comment about how rude she was and that they self checkout with flowers and mulch all the time. Never coming back here again and I recommend that the put old Anna into retirement because she's extremely rude and has no idea what customer service is. read more

I purchased a water heater, including installation from Lowe's. When the installer arrived, he took out my old one, then informed me that the new one I bought had severe dents in it - he said I had no choice but to install it for now for safety reasons, and that I had to call Lowe's to get a nondefective one put in. Many, many, many phone calls later it is clear they don't care about integrity or their customers. I tried to dispute the charge with credit card company and that didn't work out so at this point I paid full price for a water heater that I worry will leak from the denting. read more

This place definitely deserves a middle of the road rating. Have had bot positives and negatives here - usually on the same trip! I ordered some batteries online that were super cheap & sent them for store pick-up. When I got to the store they didn't have them, said the order shouldn't have gone thru because the batteries were out of stock. They were kind enough to substitute another brand for the same price to make up for it. That was greatly appreciated. I had a piece of wood cut here - dropped it off on my way to work and stopped in after to get it. Unfortunately the guy who was helping me wrote the size I needed on a piece of paper and then forgot to cut it so I still had to wait around and have it cut 8 hrs + after dropping it off which kinda sucked. Especially since I was told it would be ready when I came back. Oh well, the guy who helped me was nice and cut the board quickly. Stopped in to have a key made - took forever to find someone working in the key area. Once I found someone he was helpful & made my copy quickly. Seems hit or miss on finding a helpful employee. Sometimes you find someone very nice who is eager to help, next time the person shrugs and acts as if you are bugging them. Give it a try, see how it works out for you! Good luck! =] read more

Meh... When you go to a big box store, you should expect to get marginal service - and Lowe's doesn't disappoint. As with most big box retail stores, you can probably find what you need (eventually), at prices that are OK. Here's the problem with Lowes - it takes me 5 minutes to find my stuff - and 10-minutes to checkout. I visited Lowe's on Plainfield Avenue a couple of days ago. I needed silicon paste for a small project. I'd never heard of this item before so had no idea where to look for it in the store. A really helpful young lady by the name of "Lydia" came up and asked if I needed help (beautiful smile, by the way). Even though she worked in another area of the store she knew exactly where this item was located (2 different places with 2 different varieties of the same item) and showed me both. I was certainly impressed with her friendliness, helpfulness and knowledge. Keep Lydia around Lowes! She is a great asset to your business! read more

I like Lowes and the Plainfield store in particular. I know of the store pretty well so don't have trouble finding things. If I can't find it I ask an employee and the always walk me to the product instead of just pointing me in a direction. In addition to the usual hardware, they have a kitchen and bathroom remodeling area with knowledgeable personnel. The self check out lanes keep things moving fast and there is a large parking lot out front. Nice store! read more

My location is about a half an hour away so I had to drive to the store pick up a key and drive back just to start cutting my lawn. An unnecessary hour burned on a weekend which as we all know is much too short. They apologized for their oversight. Still, an ignition key people! read more

If I could rate them a ZERO, I would. I was quoted a price via their chat on a butcher block countertop. I saved the chat with the quote, as she told me I had to go to the store to order it. Once at the store, they could not locate the countertop that I was quoted at that price. I opened another chat, & the agent quoted me for the wrong thing (Tile) that I didn't even ask for. The store said that they were going to check on this the following week with their suppliers & get back to me. After not hearing anything at the beginning of the following week, I contacted them. They did not have any info for me, but finally got back with me, with a quote that was much more than the quote on from the chat. When I stated this was incorrect, they said they would not honor the price from the chat, despite this being from their Lowe's corporate chat. I have screen shots of the chat which I shared with them as well. I also sent the screen shots via email to their customer service, & sent them a message on Facebook Messenger, all of which were not responded to at all. Normally I don't have to much of a problem going to this store. I have bought my refrigerator, oven, washer, dryer, freezer, and riding lawn mower here with good service. I have also found many things here on my own without needing any help. The reason for this bad review is the tool chest I bought yesterday. Asked a gentleman to see if they had any of them in the boxes. He looked in the computer and saw they had 3 of them in stock. So on the hunt we went. After looking in 3-4 locations, we couldn't find any. He took down my name and number and said he would call me when they found them. I also decided to look around myself. Looking on the top shelf in the aisle, I finally found 2 boxes. Showed the man where they were and he said they would get them down while we were shopping. After about 20 minutes, we went back to where the boxes were and they were still up there. The guy came back and said he couldn't get them down because the equipment needed wasn't changed. I finally had to buy it online so I could get the extra percentage off my purchase. I will get an email when my order is ready. It is now almost 1PM and still nothing. You would think that with the issue I had at the store, ordering it online AT THE STORE, they would have gotten it around first thing this morning. I am a manager in the industry that I work in and this would be unacceptable to me. You would think this would be for their management team. read more

I am a very patient person, but I could not believe the people working at this Lowe's. My husband sent me there to get 6 80# bags of concrete. I thought to myself, "no problem!" I waited 25 minutes in line. My cashier was nice but she acted like she was high. Everything and everyone she checked out was in slow motion. The older man she asked to help me ; he just walked off and started sweeping the floor. The next guy that asked to help me acted like I was speaking A foreign language. Finally I got Don! Thank you God for Don. He figured out what kind of concrete I needed and he loaded it in my car for me. Don deserves 5 stars. I don't usually complain about a certain store or service BUT: a couple of months ago I decided I wanted to replace the door on my porch with a reliable (not broken lol) storm door. I went to Lowe's and paid to have them measure cuz if they measure wrong they have to make sure it's correct. They have their installers/contractor service and it's the worst thing I've ever experienced! The first guy came out about a month after purchasing the door/service and took my old door off put it on the ground by the side of my house. He did call me to tell me the door that was ordered was the wrong door because he measured wrong. Lowe's called and said they didn't have my door I ordered and that they were upgrading me for free. I never heard back from the contractor. And I have called Lowe's over and over to get some help. They said it's the installer service so I had to call them. I've called several times asking for a manager!!! So you don't take responsibility for the service you provide???? It's been MONTHS for a storm door!!! The out door carpet is now ruined from the rain and when the new installer came out my door now has to be ordered unless I want a door that's not upgraded like Lowe's promised me. They don't seem to have any sense of urgency and the customer service experience has been beyond horrible! ! I'm still waiting for a door.....I'm just so disappointed. read more

The day before heading out of town for spring break our washer broke. Great timing! My husband and I decided instead of dealing with trying to buy a new washer when we get home with suitcases full of laundry why not buy something while we were on vacation at a store we had back home and have it delivered and set up while we're gone so we don't have to worry about it. So we headed over to Lowe's in Sebring Florida where we met a very knowledgeable sales associate who helped us pick out a great washer and matching dryer. Because we were having it delivered to Michigan we had to call our store, store # 1514 and that's where it all fell apart. We bought and paid for the washer and dryer and were told by the associate from Grand Rapids it would be delivered and set up on the 3rd of April which was awesome since we weren't supposed to be home until April 7. On the morning of April 3 when I hadn't heard what time they were coming we called to see and we were told "oh I'm sorry we don't have that it MIGHT be on the truck tomorrow which means we could deliver it on the 8th" wait what happened to the 3rd oh well we got a I don't know who told you that but they shouldn't have blah blah blah you know how that goes. Anyway call back tomorrow and see if it's on the truck. Guess what we called and it wasn't. On Saturday the 5th I called again this time super irritated and was now told well the earliest we could have it shipped is April 12 because it takes a week or some stupid thing after they get the order to stare at it and then decide if they want to ship it I don't know. What I do know is we canceled our order went to ABC wearhouse and got the same thing for almost $500 cheaper and it's going to be delivered in 2 days. Lowe's price out the door was over $2000 and ABC is $1514 exactly the same machines. Both are delivered and the old hauled away. I would have emailed the store this glowing review but stores don't have emails set up so yelp it is! read more
