What has happened to KVG? Hired them to weed flower beds, I get the drift they can't keep help because of how I was treated. What I perceived as a customer service complaint the owner perceived as hostile environment for his workers. First day was the foreman and a worker, the worker I was watching in the backyard he approached the flower beds with an attitude throwing his hand at the beds moving to another without fully weeding. He hated what he was doing for $50. an hour I expect someone who loves what he is doing. I told the foreman quit at 11:00 when they arrived at 8:30. The worker quit at 10:15 and went out to the truck brushed off and was just standing there, my whole backyard looked horrible half ass. I opened the front door and yelled to him I was paying till 11:00 am. He went to the backyard and was ripping the weeds with both hands breaking them in half throwing them all over the grass along the length of the bed. He now was displaying a temper tantrum. This is what I'm paying for? I had a new team the next visit I told them to work till 11:00 he said I take my break at 10:00 he came back at 10:15 worked till 10:30 and left they were gone! My last team was a lady solo. She was doing an excellent job moving along the backyard quickly and throughly. I went out to tell her she was doing an excellent job. I went out to tell her I had to be to a funeral at 10:00 and I would be leaving. She said "I'm about done and I will be leaving shortly" I get my bill and she charged me an additional 1 1/2 how can that be when she was about done with the yard. So I call the office to complain I have had it at this point, I find out the first worker quit after the first visit and they listened to my complaint and they would have someone call me back. Well that first foreman called me back told me they would not be servicing me anymore because I'm not the right fit for them. i couldn't believe what he was saying, all I wanted was good customer service. I asked for Mike the owner to call me after all we have had a good working relationship for a couple decades on many projects in my yards I have had through the years and I have never complained once! And I spent several thousands of dollars. What I heard from Mike I couldn't believe he said it's another world out there and he has to side with his workers because it's hard to keep good help. So basically customer service meant nothing and my years of loyalty and money meant nothing. I'm a person who worked in a factory with 2 (15) minute breaks in 8 hours standing on cement floors mentality till I was 59. Now we have to coddle 20 year olds or they quit. read more

One person, especially goes out of her way to make sure I get what I want or need, makes suggestions, won't hesitate to go look for options, and is always very kind and thoughtful. She ordered boxwoods for me and delivered them herself (with her husband, after hours to fit my schedule). As at this time I was going through a major medical trauma. I even get follow-ups on how my plants are doing to ensure they're healthy. I get educated on which plants work best together, where to place them, how to take care of them. I always feel 100% confident with their staff, service, and products. The constant face of Knapp Valley that I see is Jen. She's put together the most beautiful planters for me as well. Knapp Valley Landscaping has been our association's snow plowing service for the past 5-7 winters. We have a very steep drive coming into our development, a relatively flat cul de sac and a very steep backside hill. This requires timely plowing and salting service. They have always been great, but this year they went way above and beyond! April ice and snow just kept coming and even though our contract technically ended on April 1 they put the plow blade back on their truck and reloaded the salt truck and kept us clear and safe for an extra 2+ weeks! I just returned from this nursery in complete shock. If I could give this place "0" stars I would. One of their managers, I only got her first name and last initial, Jen S., was so incredible rude and combative with me. I wanted to buy a flat of flowers that was in their retail space and I simply asked her about the price since none of them were marked. She looked annoyed as she went to find the price on the computer and then informed me it was not in their system. Then she proceeded to give me a ridiculously high price for the flat and when I questioned her about it she said that the flat was not for sale and that I should be grateful that she was willing to sell it to me. I asked her why then would she have flowers/product out on display where the customers shop that were not for sale and she unloaded a bunch of excuses about truck shipments and things being out of place. I told her that was very unprofessional and that they should have been placed elsewhere, she then told me that I should be happy that she was "willing" to sell them to me. As I was checking out, I expressed my disappointment in her treatment of me and she lashed out saying that I came off as being rude to her (by asking her a price and telling her I thought it was too high?!) and that she was just giving it back to me. I, in complete disbelief, said "Is that the way you treat your costumers? I would really like to speak with your manager" She then laughed at me and said she was one of the managers and has worked there for 5 years. When I said that surprised me and that my experience has lead me to not want to give them any more business in the future, she said that she didn't understand what I was complaining about. She initially was willing to give me a discount but now she was going to take it back. I was seriously floored, as was the cashier who profusely apologized and couldn't have been any nicer. He helped me load my car and hoped that I would come back. He was very kind and if it wasn't for him whispering to me "I'm really sorry, you don't deserve being talked to like this", I would have left all my plants and walked out. So my first experience with this nursery, that we just moved next door and were planning to hire next Spring for landscaping is this: disorganized, over priced and most importantly UNPROFESSIONAL. I sincerely hope that Jennifer is an exception there because customer service like this will lead to them losing more business, not just ours. read more
