I always go here for building materials and home improvement projects. It's always clean and organized but the staff disappears sometimes and your left waiting for assistance. I've had mixed experiences with this location--some good and some bad. This review is about the most recent bad experience. I purchased something online to pick up at the store using Apple Pay. I tried to cancel the order very quickly after placing it. No option to do that online. I called Lowe's Corporate...no, you must go pick it up as you've ordered. So I drive the 45 minutes to Lowe's, pick up the item, and immediately note that I need to get a refund. After a long wait, they tell me they can't give me a refund. They weren't sure why, but "maybe" you need to wait 24 hours for our system to recognize this as a purchase. That's non-sense. They refused to give me a refund. I returned the next day, another long trip, again they all seem perplexed. Keep in mind I have a receipt, the order number, everything. An employee asks for my ID and says she just needs this to issue the refund and she'll take care of it. I asked why they needed an ID and just said "store policy." Next thing I know, I see her scanning my information on my full driver's license and they quickly issue me a STORE CREDIT. I do not want a store credit. Without any explanation, they refused to give me a refund. So I wrote the CEO of Lowe's about this experience and ask for an explanation. I received a phone call and email from supposedly some senior level person that tells me that because I paid with Apple Pay online, they refuse to grant any refunds. Claim they can only give store credit. I think that is lame for a store as large as Lowe's to pull this sort of game. Be warned. read more

Hello, my brother and I ordered kitchen cabinets a while ago. Not only did Lowe's take a full year to respond to us, but they also damaged the entirety of my brother's kitchen. We had to take all dishes outside of the house, and it has taken them more than a week in which they still have not even come close to finishing the full process. Additionally, the company continuously keeps charging him on his credit card, even though they haven't finished the work and access to the kitchen has not been restored. We are disappointed and upset at this service and would not recommend Lowe's to anyone else. read more

Received disrespect and horrible customer service from Diane! She insisted on scanning my items at self check out, but wasn't doing this with other customers who don't look like me. She didn't ask me if I needed help scanning and started grabbing items out of my cart without explanation. I told her I don't need any help and can scan my items like everyone else. Because I had several moving boxes, a tool bag and other moving items, I believe she thought I was going to steal from the store. She put some items in a bag (and didn't tell me) and items that needed to be bagged were thrown in the cart. She left the tool bag on the self check out counter and refused to put it back in the cart or in a bag. I walked out of the store leaving the bagged items because I thought she threw everything in the cart. Then, she walked to the front of the self check out area acting proud. Another customer saw the interaction and followed me to my car letting me know I left my bagged items. He apologized and said the personnel wouldn't let him bring the bag to me. I thanked him and went back in the store to get my items and when Diane saw me she ignored me and started being overly friendly with another customer. I looked around and found my bag and spoke with the manager about her behavior. I generally like shopping this Lowe's because of the proximity to my home, but I've found this location condones bad behavior. I remember Diane treating me badly in the past and didn't think anything of it. Now, it seems as if this is how she acts at work. I doubt if I'll return to this location, but if I do and Diane is working I won't complete my purchase. Actually, I'll just start going to another location or their competitor. read more

After having a terrible experience with online ordering/in-store pick up at another Richmond location, I was able to get exactly what I needed at this location. The customer service was also 1000 times better. Brandon actually answered the phone, and took the time to find what I was looking for. When I picked up my order, The front end crew was very attentive and organized and responsive, and Kevin (Who got my order from the back and helped me load it) was very helpful and nice. I went to the store to purchase laminate flooring. The order was going to be around $400, I knew exactly what I needed but I needed help getting it to the front of store and out to my car. I went to flooring section and was told by multiple people that someone was on their way to help. There were plenty of employees walking around but no one willing to help me. After 15-20 min I went to front of store where an associate paged someone for help. Waited another 15 minutes before deciding to leave. I will take my business to another location. read more

Great location. I come to this Lowes all the time. If I need help to find something which is often the case, I usually can find an employee nearby who is able to guide me. When I'm ready to check out, I rarely have to wait behind rwo or three other customers. I've found the prices at Lowes to be right in line with their major competitor down the block (which I also go to quite often). I will never ever use Lowe's again. We bought a new Maytag washer and dryer at the Lowe's. They use an outside service for delivery and installation. Absolutely no communication between the store and the delivery people. The first delivery they were both damaged. The delivery people had no tools and lied about the washing machine being ok. It wasn't. We had to go back to the store and arrange for the new washer and dryer. We had to pay again for a new washer and dryer and we to receive credit when the new ones delivered and the first ones were returned. Hasn't yet happened. The second delivery couldn't install the machines on the pedestals as they were damaged and didn't contain necessary hardware. Again lack of communication. The gentlemen attached both the washer and dryer without the pedestals. We now need to order news pedestals and have them installed. We tried calling the store for explaining the situation, but customer service was either not answering or letting the phone ring forever. Next time we'll go to Home Depot or another store. For the last fews weeks I have been back and forth to Lowes because I am helping a friend restore her home and she needs alot of work done. The first improvement store we could think of was Lowes. Customer Service is just wonderful all the associates is awesome with their knowledge and knowing products. We are doing alot of restoring and the advice thats given from the associates here is just above and beyond. All the associates speak to you, they do not hound you when you come in the store, they let you look around and improve ideas you came in with about your project. There return policy is simple and easy. Also, there were times we preordered items such as wood cut at certain lengths, bathroom tiles, etc and when we came to pick them up they were ready for pick up and everything that we needed was there. Atomsphere in Lowes is the traditional home improvement store atomsphere. However, it is very clean. Especially the bathroom. Typically, bathrooms is the least of a home improvement stores worry, but this particular location really wants that clean atomsphere and the bathroom is part of it. I know this particular location cares about its customers. If you have a project or have one coming up come to this location, they will make it a great experience. 5 stars. read more

Lowe's Home Improvement is an excellent store to visit. I feel like a kids in a Toy Store with all the varies items for your home needs. They carry almost everything from Lumber to Home Appliances. In addition, if you want your Kitchen and Bath to be redone.... they have the Expertise People who will help you. In addition, they have an excellent Garden section which most people like myself enjoy. Also, as a Veteran, if you bring in your NOW Veteran card or OLD which mine is from the 60s... They will give you a 10% Discount. NO other Home Improvement Store will do this. It says a lot about Lowe's Honoring the Veterans of this Country by giving something back with a little discount. That is a BIG Plus for me, since I am a Veteran. The place is always clean and organize. I know the Economy is tough on many Box stores, and they do not have as many people working in there as you wish. So, sometimes, you have to look for a little help. However, when you do have help, they are spot on with their answers and their knowledge in what you need. Customer Service is always NUMBER 1 with Lowe's and it shows. Ordered for pickup but when I arrived to pickup my items no one answered the phone. I tried calling 10 times and no one picked up the phone.. I called several other departments but none answered. I didn't see employees in the parking lot to flag down either. I still can't get anyone on the phone for a refund. If your concerned about going there you should be, well over half the customers I saw going in and out were not wearing masks. read more

A young guy named Ben showed us a couple ovens, confirmed availability, and gave us the lowdown on convection ovens. We didn't feel any sales pressure. we didn't buy today because we might need faster delivery times than this store could offer. One more thing,I like the new handicap parking space indicators. I shop here weekly. They have a good selection of items that are usually well stocked. Good prices. But the customer service is terrible. Don't bother trying to call to get a question answered. Most times I'm put on hold, disconnected or no answer is given. Ordering things for store pick-up can be a hassle, with no communication when they arrive or, they never arrive. I ordered wood flooring and the contractor was waiting for it. It had been sitting int he store for a week, before I had to physically go to the store and have them check. Calling was a waste of time. Today, I went to pick up a rug I had ordered in store (they were out of stock). It was supposed to have arrived 5 days ago. Still not there. I got my money back and drove to the Brook Road store to buy it. This used to be a great store with great employees. I hope they can hire better people.... I feel like I come to Lowe's about once a week. Why? Because I am a chronic DIY'er and Lowe's feed my appetite for upgrading the home. Whether it's plants for the garden (which are cheaper here than the other big box home improvement store) or personalizing my furniture, Lowe's always has the items I need in stock. I like this Lowe's because the staff is very friendly and helpful. I can always find someone in a couple of minutes who is knowledgeable about the items I need. I prefer to come here either early in the AM or late in the PM as to avoid the crowds and really take my time exploring the shelves. read more

We have always had great service when we have visited the store, but the online order support has been terrible. My husband has checked on the status of an order that was shipped from another store several times. Customer service has hung up on him several times while he was on hold. They finally told him they would call him back. It has been over 24 hours since they said they would call back for the second time. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and I have contacted a lawyer for small claims court. Lowes refuses to refund me for an order they canceled. I had an order that was canceled by Lowes a week after the order. It's been 34 days and 9 hrs with customer service and a refusal to refund. I bought tables with a plastic gift card online on September 3rd. I threw the card out after a few days because it was used up. On the 8th Lowes canceled my order and claimed they sent a gift card to refund me. The order never received tracking information. So I called. Many times I was told it takes a long time to get tracking information but on around the forth call I was told they contacted UPS and lost the card. So they sent out a new card. When days passed without an email confirmation I called back. A replacement card was not sent out. Again I was "misinformed." So they seemingly marked the card as lost and said I would get a call from customer service the following day as they needed a supervisor. Five days passed and there was no call. So I called again. I was refused access to a supervisor. I asked if I could receive a virtual gift card which I had asked several times before. I had been told a supervisor could approve that. The supervisor refused. I could not speak directly with a supervisor. At this point I would like to go to small claims court on the simple principle that I have had my money stolen from me. Additionally it is a hassle having to call Lowes time and time again only to be told I've been misinformed. read more

This is one of the creepiest Lowe's franchise you will ever come across. Staff gets pissed off easily especially if you pull a coupon, as if you are robbing them. FALSE ADVERTISING is another problem. I picked up this hose from their shelf that had sale price displayed. At checkout I it rang at regular price. I asked the cashiers to confirm the price. He asked another associate to check the shelf. He returned and said he could not see any sale price displayed and rudely said, 'I will not sell it at that (sale) price'. After I checked out I went to the isle and took a picture of the displayed sale price and showed him. He got nervous and said that this was an the old sale and they must have forgotten to remove it. Well, they are supposed to update their prices or honor the displayed price. By the way, False advertising is fraud And if this is a pattern at this store I WILL NOT hesitate to file a formal complaint against them to the attorney general's office For deceiving public. Another incident, I placed 2 orders online and used $20 off 100 coupon on each order. Next thing I noticed was a pissed associate's a voice message on my phone saying 'we can only honer one coupon so please call us to tell us which order you want to keep and which one you want to cancel'. I called the Lowe's central customer service about the issue and they transferred both my orders to the Lowe's on brooks road who fulfilled both my orders and honored both coupons without questions. read more

We bought a Cobalt Electic mower and new carpeting recently from Lowe's. Could not be happier with each product. The electric mower was reasonably priced, charges up in one hour and has enough power to mow both the front and back yard evenly and effortlessly. The carpet has nice thick padding and feels luxurious. The sales help we received for both were great. We opened a Lowe's account and got discounts on our first purchase. read more

Two other people behind the counter and neither acknowledged my existence until I asked if someone could help me. The answer was no because they were helping other people. Apparently nonexistent people because there was no one else there. Do let the Lowe's TV commercials fool you with their customer service and staff friendliness, it's nothing but dreamland. Purchased 45 bags of 80 LB concrete mix and as per instructions I asked Chad in pro services to find someone to help me load my bags. After a long wait, Chad and Justin looked me straight in the eyes and said "I will not load" !! They wanted me to load the bags by myself! I returned to Customer service and asked Chris "head cashier " to cancel my purchase and refund my money, instead he contacted the first manager who apparently didn't want to deal with it, then contacted Kim "store manger" who apparently chose to resolve the issue. The moment I met her by the commercial desk I was able to understand where most of their staff's attitude come from. She suggested that they would use the forklift to load a pallet in my trailer but I will have to pay $15 for he wooden crate!!! How frustrating and pathetic. All what Kim was preoccupied with, was the way I was using my hands while addressing her. She even asked me to stop pointing my finger at her which I wasn't and wouldn't have cared if I was to begin with. I use my hand when talk and that's the way I've been all my life! The bottom line Home depot is a walking distance from Lowe's and I will never do business at that Lowe's location anymore. They have a major customer service issue and staff attitude to work on, starting with their managers. For the records Try to contact eh store and see how long i'll take for someone to pick up the phone, n issue that I have brought up many times to their attention and obviously nobody gives a darn. read more

My advice? Skip the customer service manager drama and Go to Home Depot, it's right around the corner and they will offer you a better customer service. I don't know if the customer service Lead (short girl with dark hair) was having an off day or if she treats every guest exchange like this but I'm actually just disappointed. I go to self checkout to ring up my items (unaware that some products temporary have a quantity limit- which is posted by the items they're not meant to be selling large quantities of.) I was trying to purchase 40 empty spray bottles. They had a large supply of these and they didn't have a sign by them stating the quantity limit. I had no clue when I got to self checkout. I proceeded to ring myself up but the lady stops and rings me up because I have a large quantity. She rings me up and tells me the cost: I go to pay... and the customer service lead sort of 'goes off' about how we have a limit and that they will not be selling me more then 10. I told her I understood but that I was already rang up and there was no sign by this product. She shrugged and told me that it wasn't her problem and wondered off to help another cashier. I asked my self check out guide that I don't understand why it wasn't by the product and what the big deal was seeing as there was zero product in an EMPTY bottle. Nothing is in these bottles. I called Home Depot and they answered right a way and said 'we can sell you those bottles no problem I'll even have them ready for you when you get here...' needless to say: I gave all the product back to the check out host and apologized because I would be going elsewhere with my money. I will now be more conscientious of my spending at Lowes not due to the limits which is understandable but due to the poor customer service and lack of kindness. read more

Lowes offers 3 day installation for in-stock dishwashers. Bought one 1/3/20. The installation coordinator simply gave my number to a contractor & considered it done. The contractor called me & said, "I could do it 1/25/20". Called Lowes back, explained I was working from home this week so I prefer the 3 day installation as promised. She said, "Do you want to cancel it?" No, I repeated, schedule the installation in three days as promised. She said, "hold on while I try calling some more". I asked her to call me back as I am teaching class online. "No, stay on the line". After a few minutes she came back and said, "no one answered" and seemed to wait for further instruction. "Can you leave messages, schedule this, and call me back?" I asked. "I can TRY to call you back", she said. Seemingly the next contractor in line said 1/13/20. Again, the coordinator considered the matter closed and left this information with my husband. I do not have time to play installation coordinator. This dishwasher is the same price at Home Depot and I am going to see if they would like the business more than Lowes. Pitiful service. read more

This store has one of the worst customer service a retail store can have. I understand if a cashier is not able or willing to help you but even their managers are not willing to help either even though they says they would do. I had ordered a Dryer to be delivered on 7/24. Their 3rd party delivery company called the day before and gave me a 2 hour window of 4 to 6 pm for the item to deliver, that time came and left no one showed up. When U called Lowes their delivery manager Amanda told me the delivery folks were missing the paper work which she was responsible for. Then she confirmed it will be delivered that day. The day came and left no one showed up! I talked to their other store manager Ben Manzer and he assured me it will be delivered the next day. The next day came and left. No one showed up. He even told me he would call me in the morning to confirm the delivery which probably he never meant to do as I did not get his call at all! At this point I am giving up on Lowes. I had even worse experience with the west Broad street Lowes. I am not going to this store again. read more

Do not buy appliances that must be delivered from Lowes! We bought 4 item, including a washer and dryer that were already in stock. After 4 failed attempts to deliver them, we got a refund and went to Home Depot. Four times! One problem with a delivery -- fine, I guess it happens that appliances arrive damaged. (But they were already in stock?). Two times -- hmm, y'all are acting like amateurs. Three times -- this time no one called to tell me I wasted the day waiting on items to be delivered that never even made it on the truck. Four times! Even the staff person at the headquarters said it sounded like sabotage. Damaging these items 4 times is inexcusable, but failing to communicate was worse. I should have had to call them after my scheduled delivery time -- getting the run around and put on hold for a long time -- to find out there would be no delivery. After a month of waiting, we moved on to Home Depot. I'll never buy from Lowes again! read more

Worst customer service in area. Had a broken washer, first was told I didn't have service plan, which I did. I spoke with appliance manager and she was very rude and not helpful at all. Finally on 1/20 was able to get thru to Service Protection & schedule an appointment. 5 weeks later & my washer still is not repaired. Via service who is used by Lowes has to date made 3 service calls, ordered 2 tubs which were delivered damaged. 3rd tub was ordered last week, came Wed and Via can't get out until next Tues. If I could give 0 star, I would. First off the shipment is delayed because they had no idea if it was shipped or not even though they already scheduled for the installation. Second of all, it came a whole shade off. And it doesn't appear to be the same thickness also. It's way darker than either the sample or the images online. Their reasonings were it's a different dye lot, and the samples are made separately and they could be from couple years ago. Then what's the point of ordering of the sample beforehand? The store shouldn't carry any samples then since the actual product would come out different anyway. I don't care the actual product's name is the same as the sample, it can be named whatever the hell they want to. What really matters is whether the product you receive matches the sample you order. My whole schedule is ruined. The installation is keeps getting pushed back. Store customer service was OK, I guess they are kinda busy, shout out Joe tho. What's funny is that the production office guy has the nerve to tell me he doesn't think why there should be compensations for all of this. Lmao read more
