We placed an online order for delivery of several items needed for building a fence. We paid extra to have the material delivered. We received the order confirmation via email shortly after placing the order confirming the order was received and they would contact us to schedule delivery. Two days went by with no more communication so we contacted Lowe's. They informed us that they were almost complete with pulling the order and we could pick up the items except one item, which they showed was scheduled to be delivered to our home on Wednesday, five days from when we requested delivery. We explained that the order should have already been delivered in its entirety. We had been charged the extra fee for delivery for the entire order. The associate offered nothing so I called back and spoke to Larry (a manager at Lowe's) and he understood Lowe's software had glitched and caused the issue with the partial order being a pick up and partial being delivered. He also caught that we had ordered the wrong type of board for our project so he exchanged the ones we had purchased and added the correct ones. Within two hours of our call, Larry had Abdul deliver the order. On tope of the great customer service provided by Larry, Abdul was excellent also by suggesting storage options that would minimize issues as we build the fence. That is customer service. This could have been the last time I used Lowe's especially in Gastonia, but thanks to Larry and Abdul and their excellent customer service skills and going above and beyond when not required, we are very appreciative. read more

Poor quality materials and many cut corners, for a $6500 fence. We bought Cali bamboo flooring from Lowes and had them install... Within seven months the floor had started to show spots, and the finish was coming off the floor. We cleaned the floor with the recommended products from Cali Flooring. Lowes came out to look at the floor and agreed that something was wrong. We also had an outside company look at the floor and they agreed that the flooring was defective. Lowes would not stand behind the flooring we bought. We corresponded with Lowes for months and finally told them we were going to replace the floor using a different company and then AFTER it was replaced Lowes called telling us because we replaced the floor everything was void, they did not offer any reimbursement or replacement. I live in the city of York SC and I have always shopped Lowe's due to their huge support for military veterans. I served two enlistments with the USMC. I was in Gastonia and my wife and I decided to stop in the Gastonia store. (We walked in at 330 pm on 02-10-2024, in case management cares). What a huge mistake! We arrived at register #3, and attempted to pay at the debit card register only. The machine was acting up and an older female associate arrived and she couldn't be any more RUDE. She was impatient and short with me. I attempted to talk calmly because my wife with with me, and she continued to be short and rude to not only myself but another gentleman standing to my left. (HE HAD AN ARMY HAT ON AND APPEARED 70-80 YEARS OLD! ). I am a a retired Marine and my wife is currently a RN. As a person who is in the service industry, my wife even mentioned how rude and impatient this sales associate treated everyone. As a Lowe's customer and credit card holder, this location will never get my business again. We paid for a fence install and the process and professionalism was terrible. Materials were left on my property (and my neighbors property) on a Friday with no notice or heads up. The materials weren't properly covered or secured. A piece of paper with all of my personal information (name, phone number, email, address, etc. was left on top of the unsecured materials for anyone to walk up and see. Opened bags of concrete have been left in front of my house since Friday with several days of rain. Communication has been scattered and inconsistent. We keep getting told different information about the refund that needs to be processed for an additional payment Lowes told us we needed to make and then told us we didn't need to make. I had bought a ATV from Lowes a few months ago. It was the last one they had. I bought it this year. Thinking it was a 2003 at least. After getting home looked at my Title and found out it was a 2001. It was reduced to $10000. What a deal right! It had been sitting in the parking lot a very long time so the windshield was ruint Had busted taillights. The wrench Did not work because the remote had been stolen. The gas gage did not work. It had a number 6 on the dash which i found out later was the time it had been used. I did not use it that evening as it was late. It rained the next two days. Then i read the reviews! Not good at all! Come to find out you can not return it for a full refund if you don't do it within 48 hours. Unless you purchased it with a Lowes Credit Card. It was supposed to reach a speed of about 45mph. I could only get 12mph. I called Lowes but the asst. service manager would not return my calls. I called and authorized service center and told them my problem. They said it sounded like the clutch assy was gone. Short story it was bad ...it took them six weeks to fix it but it was at n/c. I had been emailing The asst' manager and he said it was a as is deal. He later felt bad about lying so he said i could return it for a full refund. I said ok when should i bring it in? I got no response. So i called and asked for him. He no longer works for Lowes. Go figure. I did finally get my money back only because he said it was approved to give me the full refund. That was not what the manager wanted in writing. The store manager would never talk to me or show his face he used the new asst' manager to handle the situation. I had to take the ATV all the way to Mooresville to get it fixed. Lowes would not compensate me for my trip. They knew it was bad from the be beginning. The guys on the floor we very helpful and said they would pull one in a box and take it to the front for pickup. Came back 2 1/2 hours later and recliner was not at pickup. I only want my online order. It was placed 2/17/22. The tracking number on FedEx shows the label was created. It has been in that status since the order was placed. I called customer service & I was informed that the item has been shipped. I tried to explain that only the label was created but I was told I could not cancel the order because it showed as shipped. Customer service has really started to decline and it is hard to get help in the store especially from someone who actually knows what they are talking about. Now I'm having serious problems with returning items to the store. As a contractor I sometimes buy more items than I need and return, after the job, what I don't use. Now if I don't have receipts they check my I D and tell me I have returned too many items????? What???? I guess I'm a crook now???? So make sure you save EVERY invoice, don't give them your drivers license, and probably need to use 1 card and keep backups of invoices. Had an okay experience here today. It started out with some no so good customer service. I went to purchase stone for my lawn. I quickly realized that I couldn't do the job of loading 70 pavers. I went to the cashier and asked for assistance. I had to say hello 3 times to get his attention as he was on his phone. No big deal. I stated the amount I needed and that I also needed assistance. I asked if I could shop inside while they got the pavers ready. He said yes. I returned about 20 minutes later, looked at me, quickly got on the phone and paged for help. He totally forgot. Being that we're new homeowners, Lowes has become our new shopping mall. We average 5 trips a week to this particular Lowes so consequently we get a very warm welcome when we come through the doors. There's an awesome guy in the paint department who is in an 80s rock band and remembers most of our painting projects. We have a morning cashier and an evening cashier who notice when we have a lapse in visits and asks us about it.The garden department has been keeping up with our demand of pine bark mini nuggets...we went last night and the bags were stacked sky high...we bought 10 bags...which is our average purchase. The associates are very friendly and helpful. The store is kept neat, products in stock and bathrooms are always clean. What more could you ask for? Buyer Beware! I went into Lowe's to order a Dryer. Paid in full while there. They attempted to deliver it the next day but it arrived severely damaged. Looked as though it has been dropped. They took it back and assured us they'd be here the next day with a new one. Was told that the 4 hour window was from 10 am to 2 the next day. Once again we waited. They never came. I called multiple times. Got hung up on from Lowes customer service. The managers never called me back. They did say they were having technical difficulties getting in touch w/ the warehouse/delivery. This went on for several more days. They could not tell me when it would be delivered again. Received zero updates as to when. Finally went into the store to get a refund and to cancel my order. Come to find out that their appliances are sold through a 3rd party. I had to get a refund through this other company. Lowes could not refund my money. The 3rd party never contacted me back. I went to our bank to file a claim in order to get a refund. HORRIBLE customer service on Lowes end. Two Lowe's managers never called me back either. Very unprofessional. Also, veterans no longer receive a discount on appliances or lumber. NOPE! Just NO! Do you like your time wasted? Being put on hold? What about double charged? Do you enjoy helping the installers install your own appliances? Well,,, then Lowes is the place for you! I went in on Friday morning, picked out what I wanted with Barb's help. I got home and looked at my receipt only to find, the floor model dryer I bought at a discount, and the new washer was rung up as 2 washing machines. So I called and spoke to McKenzie. She was helpful and explained what happened and said to come in for a new receipt. I went in the next morning. The CS told me Barb refunded me and now they can't fix it bc the computer is down-"sorry". I go back and happen to find McKenzie, who then calls Daniel- the only other person in the store with some sense. After an hr and half of trying to figure out what happened, I finally get some type of receipt. On Sunday I get an early delivery of only the dryer, no connections and no washer. My window was 12-4. At 6:15 pm I get my washer and and connectors. Now I have to help hook up bc the other guy is sitting in the truck. Then Arthur won't switch the dryer door for me, and won't balance it. After finally locating all the items we needed in the most disorganized Lowe's ever we get to the registers to see long lines!!! That would have been fine except Don, one of the cashiers, was literally playing on his phone instead of checking customers out. After we asked if his register was open he scanned one item then stopped. A customer service rep came over, checked the register then walked away. Don turned his back to us, leaned on the counter and went back to his phone! Another Lowe's employee came over and checked the register then said that's not good and walked away. Remember there were longer lines, no updates for the customers and Don is scrolling on his phone still. Ordered one item for curbside pick up.. when I got there and called I got no answer because the phones were broken. Every time I hit "2" for curbside pick up it took me back to the main menu. So I called 7 times and kept trying. I finally pulled up front and asked a young man with longer brown hair wearing a bandana if he could help me get my order. He said "no" and to "park and come in" I was livid. When I went inside the poor girl told me that the phones haven't been working for WEEKS??!! Seriously then take curbside pick up off tour website because that's not curbside pick up. I hope they fix this issue or have some employees outside to bring orders out. What if I was sick? Bought a 40v Kobalt mower 2 years back. The rear wheel broke due to normal wear. No big deal except you can't get a replacement wheel anywhere. Lowe's sends you to Kobalt. The say they don't have any wheels and send you back to Lowe's. It's a viscous cycle of pass the buck. So disappointed in Lowe's. They are forcing me to throw away a lawn mower that still works simply because they are unwilling to give me or even let me buy a wheel from one of their display models. Do not buy Kobalt mowers! We ordered flooring for our upstairs: carpet replacement with wood flooring. We followed all the directions from Lowe's when it came to taking down photos, breakable items etc in the rooms that we were having work done in. The workers where so ruff that in our downstairs, lights fell of the ceiling, items fell off our cabinets and bookshelves and over $1000 of damage was done. After filing a complaint , Lowe's refused to offer us any compensation. We will never use Lowe's again for any sort of insulation. The quality of the floors we did get however, are fine. read more

I've learned my lesson buying Kobalt brand tools at Lowes. It turns out, once you have paid an exorbitant sum of money for the product, Lowe's will not honor the warranty, at least not without a tedious and time-consuming hassle. I have a very expensive 80 volt kobalt battery for the kobalt power tools which is completely dead but well within the warranty period. Rather than exchange the battery at Lowe's, Lowe's requires that the product owner contact Kobalt to get NRA number. Once the consumer has wasted time and money to get an RA number, Lowe's will apparently consider honoring the warranty. The store manager in Gastonia informed me that he was unwilling, in the interest of good customer service, to exchange the defective product or contact Cobalt, the manufacturer of his store's product, on my behalf to make things easier on me, the consumer, who was attempting to do business with his store. Thanks to this unpleasant and ineffectual store manager, hell will freeze over before I buy anything else at Lowe's ever. read more

If you need a manager and find one they are rude and not helpful in the least bit. We will skip over this store and go to the Lake Wylie, York or Belmont location. *****Long post alert***** I was there yesterday and it took 45 minutes for them to complete a return for me. I returned two items- unopened and in the box. Both items on the same transaction. I utilized "My Lowes" and it showed on their computers the entire purchase (over $700) and the two items were in plain sight on the online transaction. They wanted to give me store credit for one of the items. The associate asked her manager three times to approve the transaction since it was over $200 for the item and he denied. I asked to speak to the manager myself. He was no help and said the item was not found in their system (they don't sell that fan at that location). The associate ended up pulling the order by my phone number and it processed through. All of that to say the manager could have simply came out of his office 10 feet from the register and processed the transaction. He was very unfriendly and not helpful. He was more productive in his "little hole" of an office. I had other items worth $2k to purchase that day.... I left this store and went to a different location. read more

I witnessed it again today, and saw it even bring this worker to tears. So unprofessional, so much lack of care, and so embarrassing for this worker. Contracted Lowe's to do granite countertop install and it's been almost 6 weeks and still no countertop. The installers have been out 3 times and had to recut granite 3 times and currently waiting on a 4th install to happen. This has been a very disheartening experience as we were diehard Lowe's supporters previously. I have contacted corporate, fabricators and the store itself but have received no satisfactory answers just ..."we're so sorry".
