And this man that worked at the "door & windows" kept pushing me to go home and order it online. I was like I am here in the store trying to buy something. Why you tried to send me home? Really??? Then he finally like "ok I ordered for you". But then everything move that he moved just trying to show me his frustration but hitting the computer keyboard hard every time trying to type something. I ended up telling him I am all set!!! If giving you the business was suck an inconvenient "fine". I am taking my business to the Home Depot from now. I really go back and forth on this store. I really like shopping at Lowe's but my experiences here really vary upon each and every time I come in. This location is very over-utilized in comparison to other locations. It's in a very busy area and since there isn't another Lowe's within a 15 mile radius, it effects in this specific store getting WAY overcrowded. Seriously, Lowe's should open a store north of this one, and one south of this one (there isn't another one until Woburn or Milford!). Anyway, besides the fact that this place is ALWAYS insanely busy, it has some benefits and some downfalls. Pros: Decent stock. Especially since they do so much volume, the shelves are pretty well stocked and they seem to have a larger stock in some departments than Home Depot (and vice versa). Organization. Most of the time this store is well organized and put together. Throughout the spring, sometimes they do have some inconsistencies, but for the most part it's good. Location. Conveniently located at the Dedham Mall in Dedham with a ginormous parking lot and decent carriages (surprisingly, most other Lowe's locations do not have these....). Cons: Lines. More frequent than not, you will indeed have to wait in a line here. They have these tiny little signs that barely anyone notices that say "If there are three or more people in one line, we will open another line", but really no one cares. Just wasting time, honestly. Self checkout. Most of the other Lowe's locations have self checkout, ESPECIALLY the ones that actually need it (this is one of them!), however this Lowe's in fact DOES NOT have self checkout, effecting in longer waits. So annoying. Employees. Some are great, don't get me wrong, but some of the people who work here need a lesson in either a) attitude or b) decent customer service. If I'm willing to actually BUY things here, I expect the utmost useful and friendly service like I regularly receive at Lowe's in Milford and Home Depot. This location sometimes has great service, and other times has increasingly horrible service. All in all, I rate it at 3 stars. It's not a terrible store by any means, however, they have some definite work on their hands to make it even close to five stars. The primary problem with this store is the light is too low. It's dreary. As a cost saving measure, I think it hurts business more than helps it. The immediate sense when I walk in the store is one of an old dreary dusty building, and if they'd just turn up the lights it would feel like Home Depot. Simple thing but big improvement if they'd make it. I find people very helpful here with exception of some of the people at the Pro desk. Mainly, the manager. As a female, I feel like some of the staff have been condescending. I don't feel this at Home Depot. Overall, I have a much better experience at HD and it starts with the bright lights there. read more

We ordered some items for curbside pick-up as advertised. It took almost 24 hrs for Lowes to tell us that they were ready for pick-up. Upon driving up to the entrance, there was no curbside pick-up. My wife had to enter the store and go to the customer service desk and wait in line. As it turns out, the items that we ordered were in aback room which he had to retrieve. He brought the items to the car and my wife had to sign a receipt and put the items in the trump. This is not very good customer service nor was it curbside pick-up. Horrible experience. Ordered a washer dryer- was given a delivery window a few days later from 830 AM - 1230 PM. Waited until 1:30 of that day, no phone call, nothing from Lowe's. I started calling them, took several tries to get through. Zero explanation, was told several times they couldn't get in touch w the driver. So I waited until 3:00, and had to cancel and reschedule for the next day, still never a single explanation or ETA given throughout the day. One day later, I get the machine delivered finally. Only Problem is it didn't come with some of the equipment listed as "Included" in the product description! After calling the local store and receiving 0 help, I called Lowe's corporate. I would refrain from going to the Dedham store and doing business with their contractors. This location is probably one of the worst I have ever visited. First off the place is located in now vacant Dedham dumpy mall in dumpy Dedham which speaks for itself. Secondly, the store says they contain the inventory on their website, only to drive all the way to this location and find out they have no idea why the website says that since they can't locate the items. The place is a dysfunctional mess of lost employees and haphazard stock, stacked all over the place. Other locations take pride in their store while this place suffers from a messy store that could care less if they service the customer. Get a clue and just order from Amazon. Why is this handsome guy reviewing a home improvement store, when he could be reviewing so many far more exciting establishments? BECAUSE LOWE'S IN DEDHAM IS THE SHITTIEST STORE EVER. Look no further than this store to understand why you should go to the Home Depot on VFW Parkway 10 times out of 10. Let me explain. I ordered an air conditioner to be delivered to this store from Lowes.com. Lowe's charged my credit card and promises me it will be at the store within 2 weeks. I wait 3 weeks, and it has not arrived. Easy problem to solve, right? Wrong. Calling Lowe's 1-800 number results in them telling me the store received it and should have it in a storeroom somewhere. I go into the store, with Lowe's customer support on speakerphone, and they proceed to have an argument. Yes, that is correct: Lowe's was arguing with Lowe's. After this catfight finished, I was told that there was nothing that the store could do. Lowe's customer support refused to refund my money because it was delivered to the store. The Lowe's store refused to refund my money because they had no record of ever receiving the air conditioner. I asked to speak to a manager. He showed up, and looked like he would rather be anywhere else rather than working at Lowe's. He said, on 2 separate occasions, "I'm not sure what I can do about this." Well, as the manager, shouldn't you have some ability to determine what you can do about this? Story summary: it's really fucking hot outside. I don't have my desired A/C unit. I spent 18,000.00 on kitchen renovations with the Dedham Lowe's. They are completely unorganized and Eduardo in appliances talks over customers and doesn't listen. Makes incorrect orders and is not accountable. Lowe's refuses to install sinks unless you purchase cabinets however I spent $89 sq ft on marble countertops and feel they should do the sink install. Very difficult to get projects accomplished appropriately! Each renovation project should be assigned to 1 person to oversee the job and coordinate everything with the customer. read more

Washing Machine Delivery: If I could give a negative review I would. 1) XPO Delivery guys showed up and placed the washing machine somewhat next to my dryer, attached water hoses, and ran out of my house. 2) I had to run out to their truck and pull them back into my house as they had not leveled the machine. 3) They put 30 seconds into trying to level it and said this needed to be completed by Lowes. Basically it was unusable as they actually made it worse. 4) I drove to Lowes and the Appliance dept scheduled the delivery team to come back the next day between 12:30 and 4:30. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! 5) I had to call my brother, who lives and hour away, to come and we completed the job that they were supposed to do and I PAID FOR. 6) In Summary: I will never buy an appliance from a company that has a third-party who's responsible for the install. I spent countless hours on this and am livid at the UN-professionalism by both Lowes and XPO, especially XPO. I you translate the hours I put into this I should be given the washing machine for free. I'm definitely a fan of this location. Plenty of parking, no long lines at the registers and very friendly staff. Last time I was there I needed a replacement bolt and pin for my grill that broke. When I started asking what aisle I should try looking in the guy actually walked me over to the section found another guy in that section who he handed me off to. The guy in that area spent a pretty good amount of time trying to help me find something that would replace what I needed and we actually worked out a better setup than it originally had. Awful experience, avoid this location!! - I called ahead of time from the Framingham store for a number of items, and drove the 20-30 minutes to order/pick it all up. When I arrived at 6 pm, I walked around for 10 minutes looking for someone to help me, only be accused by whom I assume was the floor manager (who I eventually located) of misleading him or being disingenuous because he was unaware of the item I was asking for. After he argued and interrupted me for a few MINUTES about calling the Framingham store to confirm, he seemed to become irritated and tried to sell me an incorrect version of a product that he admitted knew was not the correct version, which I was otherwise might have bought. Twice I walked away from him trying to get help from someone else, all of whom either had no idea what to do or said it wasn't their department. I repeatedly asked to speak with the general manager, which the floor manager eventually relented after saying he wasn't going to "lose his job" over these items. However, he never did let me speak to or introduce me to the general manager, who never came out of his office to speak with me. "Nothing you can do" he told me, without suggesting any alternatives, knowing full well I had just drove a half an hour away from another store. He then walked away. I have been a Lowe's fan for as long as I can remember, and I can't remember having a worse experience in any retail store. I drove to this Dedham location to buy nearly a $1000 in tools and equipment for my first home that I'm purchasing this weekend, and now I will probably drive out of my way to avoid this Lowe's location. As an aside, I called back the Framingham location in frustration on my drive home, and was treated with the attention and effort that otherwise gives Lowes a great name. I've read these other reviews, and despite the parking and good prices (which are at every store), I will likely never come to this Dedham location again, and am trying to warn you not to make the same mistake. It's not worth the poor treatment, and borderline contempt some of the employees have for customers with problems. Don't go to this Dedham store unless you're prepared for the possibility of being ignored and generally mistreated, not to mention losing a few hours of your hard earned free time....just ruined my day, thanks guys. I've been using lowes in general and this location more specifically for a couple of bathroom renovations and I'm absolutely appalled by their lack of customer service. There is no cohesion whatsoever among the employees in terms of store policies, products, deliveries.... basically anything you can think of, you'll be sure to get 5 wildly different answers if you speak to 5 different employees. In no particular order, in the last 45 days Lowes has: 1. given me an extreme run around on getting a price adjustment in store to match an online price 2. been generally rude to me when attempting to get a price adjustment 3. never answer their phones (currently on my 6th try to get through to someone at a store on a Sun at 12:15 PM) 4. cancel orders with no explanation 5. cancel orders incorrectly 6. not able to locate placed orders 7. blatantly told me they have not carried something in person and on the phone, only to go there and find a pallet of it myself. read more

Man do I dislike Lowe's Dedham. I had the WORST experience here earlier this month. I ordered online to pick up at the Dedham location, my credit card was charged, email confirmation in my inbox, all good to go! I show up at the store the next day to pick up my order, the woman at customer service could not find my order. After a few minutes of her poking around in the computer, she told me that my order was canceled and that I should have received an email telling me that. Well guess what?!?! No email! I asked for the manager and was met by a bumbling man that didn't seem to know what was going on. He had very little sympathy about the situation but after explaining to him the situation he told me he would look for another location that would have my items. He told me that Lowes in Wareham (55 miles away) had what I needed in stock. What I SHOULD have done was say, "alright, I'll wait here while you go grab those items) but sadly, did not do that. I drove all the way out there and retrieved the necessary items. What makes matters worse about this very unfortunate situation was that my credit card was not refunded until I called Lowes customer service and asked them to refund my card. I NEVER received a cancellation email and had to take care of the refund on my own. Lowes customer support told me that Lowes Dedham would contact me to take care of that, but they never did. After calling Lowes online support again, I demanded that they refund me. I don't plan to ever walk into another Lowes again. This was such an unfortunate experience. We came here this past Saturday with the goal of getting some paint. Much to our surprise I had one employee working the paint counter during peak hours. The line was about four people deep and people were walking away after 20 minutes of waiting. When I finally got up to the counter after waiting close to 25 minutes in line - on my one day off, I was notified that the Valspar paint mixer was not functional and therefore the paint we need it cannot be mixed. One would have thought they would've put up a sign to let people know considering Valspar is their primary brand? but apparently that sort of thinking ahead mentality is consistent with having one person on staff on a Saturday. After finally getting a different type of paint which was of less quality and we anticipate problems with, we noticed that she got the order wrong after we repeated it twice. While I don't blame her necessarily, she was probably overworked, the entire experience was a mess. I would never visit this location again read more

As far as hardware stores go, this Lowes is alright. We went in yestersday to purchase a rug we had seen at another store. While attempting to use their "purchase online, guaranteed in the store in 30 mins" offer, Lowes decided to do site maintenance...so we were just hoping that the rug was there when we arrived. The staff here is friendly & appear to be knowledgeable (heard some of them describing to other customers how to to stuff), but if you are not capable of getting & carrying things yourself (as in you have no upper body strength), be prepared to wait a considerable amount of time to have someone help you out. I spent a good amount on a gas range stove, had it scheduled to be delivered and they never came! The worst part is when I check online, it says Delivered!! After no luck with calling, I decided to drive to the store to get some information, only to find out the store had to close (at 2pm during the week) due to an emergency. This is the absolute worse place to go for appliances. The customer service leaves lots to be desired. Been dealing w damaged appliances for months while living through a renovation process. Better to stick with the mom and pop businesses for this reason and they know their stuff much better than people that read labels. I've been their through the holiday season and they say they have stuff in stock that is not in the store and visa versa. It's so disorganized. Forget getting any response calls or even trying to talk to people on the phones. Every part of my shopping experience there is just horrible. If you know what you need to buy and can get in and out of the store, that's the only way to go. Otherwise stay clear of this location. Never have I had these types of problems at Home Depot. i prefer Lowe's over HD. i find the staff generally more friendly and helpful, and they would actually stop to ask if you needed help. though for some reason, every time i go with my husband, their service drops. either we got uninformative response when asking general info about a product category, or we stood around for a floor rep to check on a grill and she took forever to come back (we didn't wait). they redeemes themselves when we went to check out dishwashers one time, the floor rep spent a good amount of time walking us through different models and stuff, when we were less than committal on a purchase. we got his card and wanted to give him the commission as we were ready put in an order, but when we called for him he basically said he doesn't get commission but is happy to answer any questions we have. we ended up ordering online but were appreciative of his service. if i remember correctly, German (ger-MAAN) is his name. i still like this place. generally clean and very organized; haven't had trouble locating items i was looking for. got a few good sale items on odd days (little things like $1 tulips!), pretty sweet! read more

A manager misinformed me about a stove I bought (he said we didn't need to unhook our gas stove in order for their delivery guys to take it away for us - as it turns out, we did, which requires a plumber that we didn't schedule because we thought we didn't need to). When I called to complain that the manager outright lied to us, the rep who answered the phone was beyond unprofessional and kept repeating that he "wasn't the one who told us that" with an attitude. It doesn't matter who said it, it only matters that I was given incorrect information by uneducated, uncaring staff members. "Gwen, you're overloading the washing machine. You're gonna break the thing." "It's just one more shirt. ONE MORE PIECE OF CLOTHING. What harm can it do?" I tossed in the aforementioned shirt, poured a healthy capful of detergent, and hit "on." And that, dear reader, is how I broke our washer. The motor died, leaving our clothes floating in a basket full of cold water. The powers-that-be at Lowes apparently have some sixth sense, as they seem to have sensed my growing frustration at having a busted machine. Just a few weeks after our washer sputtered its last spin cycle, I received an offer in the mail for a Lowes card, offering zero interest on any purchase over $200 (and paid in full in 12 months). Cool. Off to Lowes we went. Having done our research, we had a few models of washing machines in mind, and had some very specific questions about them. Unfortunately though, we couldn't find anyone to help us. After loitering in the appliances section for roughly fifteen minutes, we finally attracted the attention of a guy in his early 20's who talked to us around his chewing gum (which, from what we could smell, was grape flavored). Appliances wasn't *his* section, he informed us, but he could find someone else who could help us. He brought over a guy (I think his name was German), who was actually very nice, patient, and happy to go over the various aspects of each machine. He helped us settle on a GE model, and we were pretty happy with our purchase. Still, things got messed up. I asked that the machine be delivered Tuesday. A few hours later I received a phone call, confirming a Monday delivery. I said nope, I asked for Tuesday, and was told again that Tuesday would be fine. Tuesday rolled around, and I had a suspicious feeling that something was wrong. We called, and they screwed up the delivery day again, penciling us in for Wednesday. We repeated for the third time that we had asked for a Tuesday delivery. Lowes said that they'd find a way to make it work. And they did, which was nice. However, the guys who delivered the machine hooked it up wrong, and left without leveling it. We're still trying to get the damn thing leveled. What really sucks is that when I filled out my Lowes card application (you know, to buy the machine), I added Brandon V. as an authorized user (since we both share the machine and other household expenses). As the clerk processed the application, we stressed that Brandon was to be an authorized user and NOT a joint account holder. Still, they did the opposite of what we asked, which complicates my finances and does all sorts of funky, not cool things to Brandon V's credit rating. It's a pretty big mistake to make, especially when we were so adamant about how we wanted it done. So yeah, I was pretty unhappy with the outcome, and it's something I'll be dealing with for a while. read more

This is the most poorly run Lowes I've ever had to deal with. I placed an online order and got an email stating my order was "ready" for pickup. I usually give it another day or two because this store is so bad that orders are never ready. So I come in 2 days later and sure enough, the order isn't ready. I wait 30 minutes, still nothing, so I leave. About 10 minutes after I leave I get an email thanking me for picking up my order and charging my credit card. The order was NEVER picked up, it wasn't even ready to pick up. Seems fraudulent to me but they called and told me that's how the system works. I said "so you send out emails thanking people for picking up orders that were never picked up? Who signed for it?" Response: thats just how the system works. The store manager either never goes to work, or hides all day because no one can ever find him. read more

You know how there used to be that thing--maybe it was an urban legend, I dunno--how every Burger King was specifically built 1 mile from a McDonald's? I feel that way sometimes about this Lowe's being so close to the WRox Home Depot. But with both of them offering similar prices, products and pledges to beat any competitor's price, how do you know which one to choose? Here's my quick scientifically-constructed test. Do you get road range easily? If so, avoid the Home Depot. It's always crowded, and you'll get antsy trying to inch into the VFW Parkway traffic at the light right after HD's exit. Lowe's never has a full parking lot. It's a big parking lot, so you don't have to worry about people backing out from the spot across from you. The only tricky spot is at the four-way stop when you come into the mall. Do you prize efficiency?At the Dedham Mall, you can run other errands and do your grocery shopping. At HD, you can go ice skating or get food poisoning at the sketchy Chinese restaurant next door. Do you like surly or helpful sales people? While there are more employees on the floor at Home Depot, they always act like they're on the way to save the day for a bigger project than yours. A big, important manly project. Or, if you're reading this and you're a man, a mucho macho manlier project. There seem to be fewer blue aprons at Lowe's but they seem to want to help you--and I include the traditionally surly young counter help in this Lowe's lovefest too. I needed wire ties, and asked the young woman at customer service. To be honest, she probably had no idea what I wanted. Fortunately, she was gabbing with a customer, who did know what I wanted and he told me Aisle 12...she got pissy at him because she wanted to help. So points to Lowe's for having helpful fellow customers--all the hardcore HD guys (not the weekend warrior homeowners, but honest-to-god building professionals) look unapproachable for an opinion because they're probably pissed that HGTV hasn't offered them their own home makeover show yet. What kind of car do you drive? There are mostly nicer cars at Lowe's. HD has their share of Lexus representation, but their lot captures a wider swath of the economic experience. How lost do you get? Signage and directions at both places suck, quite frankly, but Lowe's seems to suck more. How clean should your shopping experience be? Lowe's is well-lit, shiny-ish and cheery blue and white. HD is dim, dingy and orange. Plus their boxes and bags containing merch have often been opened. It seems like a draw here--both have their plusses and minuses. But only HD has a contingent of illegal Mexican construction workers shopping there. With that level of street cred, it must be better. Advantage: HD. read more

I am not a fan of "big box" stores - the bigger they get, the less we seem to get (less choice, less quality, less service.) With that chip on my shoulder, I have been consistently impressed with Lowe's in Dedham, MA. The first dozen "5-star" service interactions almost took me off guard - store associates who would take the time to lead me to the item I was looking for (not just point and grunt) - staff who would ask me questions about my project and make great suggestions. After a couple of years of this, I now happily wait for the special moment to happen on every visit. It's not every staffer who truly shines - but there are enough of them that it makes a huge, noticeable (and appreciated) difference. We recently bought a dishwasher at Lowes - the Lowe's staffer was very patient as I took forever to make a decision (so many choices/features) and helped me sort through the tradeoffs of each. Settled on a unit - got several in-store discounts - then more on rebates, which the customer service person put in a folder for me and took the time to go over everything with me (esp the rebate stuff which I'm notorious for never filling out.) The unit was delivered on time - with great scheduling process - and installed really well. And the rebates were easy to fill out and came within WEEKS. Very much appreciated. So love the store, the staff, the products - their super easy return policy. If only they had a Lowe's cafe inside the place where you could go to sip, relax, and think of the thing you KNOW you'll forget and have to come back for in a few hours, it would be perfect. :-) read more

I recently placed an online order from Lowe's for a Weber Natural Gas grill. On the site, it clearly labels, "Delivered within 3-7 business days." I thought it was reasonable enough, and placed my order. A week or so passes, and I do not receive any type of notification from Lowe's with regards to my order, so I call their customer support line. Apparently the 3-7 business days, is just for delivery to their Dedham location, it would be another week before it could be delivered to my home. Not wanting to have to wait another 7 days to receive my grill, I rented a car and drove to Lowe's and picked up my grill. Upon assembling my grill, I noticed that they gave me the wrong model! They had given me a Propane tank grill, not the Natural Gas one which I had paid for! Again I called Lowe's to resolve this issue, and was told that someone would be in contact with me the following morning. The next day around 3PM, I had still not received a call, and was forced to call again! I spoke with an assistant manager at the Dedham Lowe's location, and was informed that they would swap the grill out for me free of charge. I informed them that I would like a chat with the manager of the location to clear up the confusion, as I had wasted a good portion of my day renting a car to pick up the grill, and that their delivery details on their website was far from true. I was told that I would receive a call the following Monday from the store manager. It is now Wednesday, over a week from the day which I expected to receive my grill, and 2 days past the day which the Lowe's store manager should have called me back. I have yet to receive any type of call or apology from the store. Needless to say, I would highly discourage anyone from shopping at this Lowe's store. I'd give them no stars if it was an option! If you must use this store, be careful. There are a couple of nice employees - tho not necessarily good at their job they were polite-but most were rude and/or just didn't care. They messed up MULTIPLE orders that I only got corrected by having their 800 number customer service intercede and help solve. There was only one manager at the store-Paul-who had a clue about customer service and made any effort to correct the comedy of errors that just kept snow balling along. Delivery service is a joke. Delivery men were polite and helpful but their office staff was laxed, rude and very disorganized. They came today TWICE to deliver the same product. Home Depot isn't great but I'll go there or the Lowes in Brockton where they do at least understand what customer service is about. read more

They will never answer the phone, you will be on hold for hours, and I've never seen such a poorly run business. There are some good people there, but overall the place should be out of business with such consistently poor customer service. read more

Curbside pickup is a joke. The sign in the parking lot said to call when you get there but when you call they pickup the phone and set it on the table. Saw them do that when I gave up and went in to pick it up in the store. read more

I purchased a fridge, stove, dishwasher and hood. 3 months later, they are delivering a 3rd fridge (the other 2 were damaged and stopped working) and we are finally enjoying our 2nd stove (the side was VERY dented on the first). The customer service is non-existent and that is IF someone answers the phone. I will never purchase a big ticket item from Lowe's again. What a disappointment. read more

Horrible service. I purchased a refrigerator which was scheduled for delivery between 2p and 4p., NEVER showed up. Called store and they said that it was the delivery companies fault and that they would call them and call right back. Still waiting for the call. HORRIBLE Service. Will NEVER shop here again. The Lowe's in Dedham, Ma is very unprofessional. They refuse to pick up the store phone during business hours. I had a refrigerator delivery to made on 3/26/22 and when the delivery guys got to my address they refused to deliver the refrigerator because there was not a parking spot. I live in Dorchester, MA. Not a rural area, it's the city. Just like any city in the world there are parking restraints. Here is the kicker, in October 2021, I received a refrigerator delivery for another unit in my home. It is a 3 family home. It was successful. So what is the difference between delivery now versus then. The delivery guys refused to return my call. What if they were delivering to areas of Boston like Downtown or the North End? Residents cannot control the street parking. I have called the store upwards of 10 times to get a hold of someone. Each time, a woman picks up and says "Thank you for calling Lowe's, please hold." I have been on the phone on hold for 28 mins and counting. I anticipate I will walk in the store still on hold. I will be video taping the customer service desk. This is horrible customer service and uncalled for especially during a pandemic. I will be following through with corporate as well. I only have one star because that's the lowest I can go. I would much rather give 0. read more
