My friend and I went in looking for a specific patio umbrella that happen to be out of stock. There was one hanging, so I decided to ask a sales person for help. Mike Wheeler!!! Great, great guy! I need to start off by stating that this review has nothing to do with the products they sell. Instead, this review will be about their absolutely horrible delivery/installation services. I purchased a counter depth fridge, and washer &dryer for my new construction home that I recently moved into. The fridge arrived with a big dent in the door. No worries, things happen. They took the fridge and a new one was put on order. The washer & dryer delivery has been a real treat though. The delivery arrived at around 7:30pm on a Wednesday. At around 8pm, they tell me that they brought the wrong hoses to connect the washer, and they can't get the dryer to work, and that Lowe's will contact me the following day to correct the problem. No one contacted me the following day (Thursday), so on the third day after delivery (Friday), I decided to take a look at the dryer myself. The delivery/installation guys had broken off a screw while trying to install the power cord and never told me. So I took pics of everything and went to Lowe's to attempt to settle the issue. The young woman in customer service was very polite and set up a service call for the next day (Saturday) to repair the broken dryer. Saturday morning, the Lowe's crew arrived, took a look at the broken screw, told me there was nothing they could do, and left after about 5 minutes. So I return to Lowe's, and this time I spoke to a manager. The manager informed me that the dryer I had purchased was no longer available so we agreed that the best course of action was to remove both the washer and the dryer, and refund my money. He assured me that the delivery crew would return to my home the following day (Sunday) to pick up the items. Sunday morning shortly before 9am, I get a call from Lowe's delivery service telling me that they'll be at my home to pick up the washer and dryer. I asked them for a time window, and the woman told me she would find out and call me back. Around 4pm, I call the Lowe's delivery service back to inquire as to when they'll be coming...they inform me that they won't be coming that day, and they'll come the next day (Monday). That brings us to now. It's Sunday night and I've had a useless washer and dryer sitting in my laundry room for 4 days, and nothing but excuses and empty promises from Lowe's. I ended up buying a washer and dryer elsewhere, and at this point, I can only assume that my new fridge that has yet to be delivered will also be damaged based on the lack of care and unprofessionalism shown by their delivery personnel. I will never purchase an appliance from Lowe's again. But hey, at least I love my new house. read more

I've been to this Lowe's twice, two weekends in a row trying to get light bulbs for my kitchen and garage. On the first visit, I had to ask for assistance 3 times and wait over 30 minutes on aisle 12. Needed to go back the following weekend because I needed to bring examples of the bulbs for someone to help me. The second time I asked on the way in for someone to help on aisle 12 with the bulbs. Stood there 10 mins, nobody showed up. Walked and found 2 employees a few aisles over. I had to force them to pay attention to me. They didn't even stop to speak to me but called someone again. I waited another 10-15 minutes and nobody came to help. Walked back up to the front of the store to ask again. It's amazing how many people work there but seem to run from you or try their best to ignore you if you need help. There was a guy with customer service embroidered on his vest, so I walked up and stood while he was talking to another couple. He looked at me as if I had 3 heads for walking up while he was helping someone else but I didn't know what else to do. I told him I had been waiting over 30 minutes and had walked to find someone 3 times. I noted the same thing happened the previous weekend and he looked at me like I was a big problem. No apology, just contempt. He called someone again. It's code 4 if a customer needs assistance just so you know if at Lowe's. I heard code 4 a lot the last week. About 5-10 minutes later, a guy with a Lowe's vest walked down aisle 12. I asked if he was there to help us. He said no, but he would try. He said he is a plumber and didn't know anything about lighting. He was a nice guy and I'm sure what happened was not done on purpose but he ask my partner where he is from and when he said the Dominican Republic, he said he had just met a lady a few minutes earlier from the DR. He then asked, do y'all have a boat waiting outside? This was said as a joke, but, yikes. My partner flew here on a jet when he immigrated as a child. It was certainly a moment of classifying everyone from the Caribbean as boat people. He was trying to be nice and we get that he probably has no idea that what he said could be offensive. He also had no idea about the bulbs and finally told us just to buy some and if they didn't work we could bring them back. The entire light bulb area is messy and it's hard to figure out what is what. At this point I felt really done with this Lowe's. I've always supported them over Home Depot but I decided to leave and go to Home Depot. On the way out, I counted 5 employees up in the front register area not doing very much. I realize their department may not be lighting, but none of them tried to help. Totally different experience at Home Depot. The light bulbs were very organized and we easily found what we needed for about half the price of the bulbs we were looking at in Lowe's. We also walked around and picked up a few gardening items. I had to ask where something was located. Found an employee right beside us who easily answered my question. He didn't even act as if my needs as a customer were a problem. We have gone back to Home Depot twice since that visit to get more items we needed. read more

UNSURPASSED CUSTOMER SERVICE - This past Saturday my wife and I visited Lowe's in Covington to purchase a window AC unit. We realized we were looking for a seasonal product, but you never know with our fall warm weather they might just have one. We looked around the store on our own and couldn't find any until we met Sales Associate 'SKIP'. What a godsend! Skip personally searched every high bin rack both inside and outside under the Garden Dept. canopy in search of an AC unit for us. He also inquired with other Sales persons if they knew where a unit my be shelved. I couldn't believe the amount time he dedicated in helping us. He was definitely a cut above . A real 'top shelf' Sales Associate for sure. He did find one, but it was too big. Regretfully, Skip only works weekends. I visited Lowe's this morning to make a major equipment purchase that I had been thinking about for a long time and had the worst customer service experience that I have ever had at a big box store. I had basic questions about the product in question and could find no store associate in the department. Over the next 30 minutes I asked 3 passing associates from other departments and each said that they would put in a call for help, but none came. In the meantime, I made two visits to the customer service desk and each time I was assured help was on the way. After more visits to the front of the store I finally found someone (assistant manager?) who followed me to the product, but could provide very little info. I heard an associate say that whoever was in charge in that area couldn't be found, or was simply not there. Associates I spoke to were very polite and tried to be helpful, but simply lacked expertise in this area, so I assume this was a management/staffing issue. Not a good experience. read more

Brand new frigidaire fridge was delivered and messed up upon arrival and the deluvery guys just walked out and left. They came back out the next day and said Lowe's would be in contact, which they did not do. when I called Lowe's to see if everything was in place, Lowe's tells me that they have no record of anything if that nature and that if I want a replacement I have to buy another fridge, have them deliver it again and They pick up the old fridge and refund it after it arrives back. Lowes is located just up the road from Home Depot; its main competitor. Lowes is great for the do it yourselfer or the homeowner just looking for something for their home. There is a great selection of outdoor furniture and appliances which seems to be better than home depot. This trip I needed Christmas lights, but they were sold out. I did wait too long so I can't fault the store. The staff are always friendly and helpful and usually far more knowledgeable than I am. read more

Lowe's didn't have my color wood stain, so I accepted the offer to blend it. The blend was the right color but unknown to me until it was applied, it was not the right sheerness to show wood grain. The Lowe's paint technician had used a different kind of stain to make it without mentioning it had different properties and finish. When the contractor applied it, It went on like paint not stain. To the contractor and to me, and to all the household, I was sold the wrong product. I went back to exchange it for the right product. Customer service called a manager. Two came. The way Nancy, paint manager, treated me for returning to exchange was horrible. The manager, Jason allowed it, only listening to her and not me nor looking at or considering me or the photos which showed the dense paint-like finish not showing a bit of wood grain. Nancy would not agree that I'd been sold the wrong product but finally said "I'll only allow a refund, that's all." Suggesting only a refund not an exchange, as if I'd asked for something outrageous. So... I asked for the $250 extra the contractor wanted to redo the door. An exchange and that would make this matter whole & resolved. Of course. that wasn't going to happen, but I wanted it clear leaving out crucial information & selling me a different kind of stain had cost me more than time and Nancy's brutal attempt not to make it right. Eventually there was a refund and the stain replacement was free. What I endured to get that was not polite nor good business. People noticed. There were kind people there shocked by my treatment who apologized for the ordeal they saw me go through. Shame on Lowe's when others apologize for your management's public treatment of a customer. read more

I bought a riding lawn tractor. Waited 30 minutes to find someone to help me after I asked every employee for help. Then when someone did help said we have on in the back let me get it for you, he said we have to check to see if everything works. Paid for the tractor and waited another 30 minutes. Went home with the tractor. Go to look at the bottom the belt was off, and it was all chipped up, the blades were in bad shape as well. looks at the minutes run meter it shows 13 hours, had to bring back, the other one that was in the front would not start. Had to get money back. This is not the first time we had issues with product that has been used. It is sad. read more

DON'T USE THEM FOR KTCHEN REHAB!!! The fouled up the plans they sent with the contractor they hired and gave him the wrong daft, not the completed one. Them. in the middle of the cabinet install, they said it will be $700 more ( since the installer had bid too low). NOT MY FAULT! they installer didn't plan on the amount of time needed and left me waiting for a week without a working sink, since he didn't cut out the sink hole and put the counter top on. He also broke my ceiling fan whish has not beed addressed to correct. One of the cabinets was cracked severely, as well as no moulding sent. Both have not been completed at this time. YET, they harrass me for the additional $700 and now have made the job completed, which it has not! I sent a letter to the manager and haven't received any call or correspondence about these issues. POOR LOUSY SERVICE! This was the first time I have used their services and it will be the last! I will be calling corporate and the better business bureau to have to get this completed. Her exuberance to assist with the resolution went above and beyond any service expectations I had. I have visited this store on multiple occasions and have received very good to great customer services received from Shonda. Picked up a trash can for our new home. How exciting! While I was on the aisle looking for a trash can Tuesday, there were two workers on the aisle. Their names were Phillip and Brett. I asked Philip if he thought a 72 gallon trash can would fit in my sedan. He gave his thoughts and I concluded it wasn't going to work so I told him I will go with the 64 gallon can. He said ok. The guys were in arms reach from me. I proceeded to lift the can to place in my cart. I am 30 weeks pregnant and they did not ask if I needed help at all. In fact they watched me and kept on talking to one another. I was so disappointed. We just purchased a $2100 washer and dryer the week before and I'm seriously considering returning it and going somewhere else. I'm just appalled. I recently had Lowes, Covington Louisiana, and their contractor install a deck using synthetic wood. Using the pro desk, I was assisted by a very nice lady when I came in to get samples. When I returned to begin the purchase process, Jason Tassin was my associate. Jason was very knowledgeable, patient and understanding. He led me to an in stock board which saved me thousands over a custom order. The contractor that did the installation was "Rooster". He was timely, efficient and very conscientious. The skill of he and his crew were fantastic and the finished product amazing. I have gotten compliment after compliment and we are enjoying it daily. Also, Jason found a rebate of $1,000 after the fact that he helped me negotiate. I couldn't have asked for more. read more

Lowes in Covington, La. has been my place to buy almost everything for my home for over 10 years. Carpeting, major appliances, building materials, to the point of a ridiculous amount of money spent there, just to be treated poorly recently. About three weeks ago I went to this store to purchase carpeting for my top floor of my home that was damaged by water from Hurricane Ida. I had to repeatedly request help in the flooring department and one employee went out of her way to avoid me. I finally got help after a 1/2 hour wait (not an exaggeration) from Mr. Menesses, who helped me schedule someone to come out to take measurements. The estimator showed up on time (great) and a couple of days later I received the estimate. Although it showed more carpet needed than the actual area to be carpeted, I didn't make an issue of it, especially since the installation was going to be "FREE"! When I went to Lowes of Covington, I was assisted by a less than friendly associate who advised me that I would owe over $1,000.00 for padding, which she advised had to be purchased from the installer. Nothing on the signs posted at the store stated this, and I saw this coming from a mile away when she advised that the padding costs $200.00 per roll. That would make it the MOST EXPENSIVE padding ever, more expensive than the carpet. The most expensive padding at Lowes is $70.10/roll., or $2.34/ yd. Ultimately what this Lowes store is doing is allowing the Free Installer to charge the installation rate of at least $5/sq yd. for installation plus another $3/yd for padding that sells for no more than $2.33/yd, for a grand total of $8/yd. Since I had already spoken to several independent installers I knew the labor costs, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out they AREN'T giving FREE INSTALLATION. They're just hiding it in the grossly OVERPRICED PADDING costs. Since I had purchased significant flooring from Lowes in the past, it was easy to see they were doing something likely not condoned by Lowes company and is simply a scam not well disguised. I spoke with a store Assistant Manager name Antoine about this and he insisted this was the policy (apparently to cheat their loyal customers). I definitely recommend staying away from this store until they correct these fraudulent practices there. read more

The service is awesome at the Covington Lowe's. Went in for a retractable clothes line, and after walking up and down aisles just 'knowing' where I think it should it located, I was kindly walked over to the specialty shelves near the cabinets. The Lowe's worker knew exactly what it was, and where it was. Even explained the rationale behind having it in the specialty area. Makes sense now, but needed to share the experience with others about how this worker went out of her way to make sure that I found the item I was looking for. This type of service is sorely missed in many places that I frequent. The work ethic of 'doing what it takes to get the job done' mentality. Kudos to Lowe's - hope she stays there with you, as she will definitely raise the bar on service standards. read more

This is the short version of what happened. There's more but these are just the bigger highlights...I went in to buy a refrigerator because mine was dying. On June 11 I spoke with a man in appliances after I found one I liked. We looked it up and he said there were 2 ready to be put on the truck to be delivered to the store. He said it would be at my home with in 2 weeks and they would call with a delivery time. I asked him 3 times if he was sure it would be within 2 weeks. He said yes which is why I agreed to buy it. 2 weeks later I call the store to find out why I haven't been called to set up a delivery. No one answered the 9 times I called. My calls kept circling around the robot operator. So I go in and find out that the earliest any refrigerator would be in was July 10 but would probably be a few weeks after that. So I speak with 3 managers (hour and a half standing and waiting in the appliance section) and decide to have the floor model delivered. The manager set delivery for the next day. I ask him if he were sure it was set and will be delivered - for sure. He said yes. The next day - 6-26-20 at 1pm I hadn't been called by the delivery people telling me what time they would be at my home so I call the store. After 6 tries I finally got someone to pick up the phone in delivery. The person who answered was the delivery coordinator. He tells me the there is no delivery scheduled to my house today. At which point I tell him about all the screw ups that have happened so far and I had about had it. He told me that there was no way he could get it to my house today. It would have to be tomorrow. I told him that wasn't an option. It was scheduled for today and it needs to happen today. At which point he says that he will call his delivery people and try to get it on a truck. He said he would call me back after he got a hold of the delivery people with a time this afternoon. 4:00 and no call back so I call the store and spent 30 minutes being circled around by the phone robot. No one answered the phone. The incompetence is mind boggling!!!!!!! Not one person through any of this apologized for anything. They treated me like I was interrupting their day. I will be writing this review on anything I can find that relates to Lowes. Your employees are awful!! It's no wonder your company has been going bankrupt. read more

I special ordered a door ($2300) not a cheap order. Door came in and got to the store 2 hours after they called that it was in. Waited 10 weeks for this door to come in. Go to the front desk to tell them we are here to pick it up. Takes the counter person 20 min just to call someone to pull it. Wait another 30 min outside just for it to start raining and the person says we have to come back another day because it's not wrapped all the way up. Didn't offer to wrap it or even acted to care. Went to Lowes today to purchase wire shelving. Got to the register and the lady said she could not check me out because my item did not have a bar code. I asked her to look it up and she said she could not. I got the head cashier and she told me I would have to go get one with a bar code. I said this is fn ridiculous. The absolute worst Lowes! I've shopped at many many Lowes. Typically a great place to shop and great value for your money. What makes this Lowes so different you ask? Management. The Management and team running this Lowes are the absolute worst! Forget about Customer Service and forget about anyone willing or compitent enough to help you. My final shopping experience: I ordered shower doors. They dropped the first set and that forced me to order a second. The second set I went to pick up and waited an hour only to get an "oh well, sorry about that". No excuse why or what happened. I just couldn't wait any longer after an hour. We shopped the store for the first 20 min and found the stock limited as usual. They can't even order more stock? I'm done. Seriously done. On to Home Depot or Ace or Amazon. Very rude employees, went to get price match 4 days after I purchased 3 vanities and was told I had to talk to a manager by the lead cashier. Who took 2 phone calls while I was standing in front of her trying to show her the written price guarantee. Then they couldn't look up my receipt even though they could see I purchased It by looking up the sku, my last name and credit card. When I returned with the receipt the girl told me the manager told me no. I ask her if she was calling me a lier and she then started to scold me and tell me she was doing the talking. Took me about a hour at Lowes to get a price match but I finally got it done. The refund was over $160. And the cashier acted like it was her money they were giving me.
