After having my fill of Home Depot, I went to Lowe's in Commack for my last project. Thanks to Syed's expert and patient assistance--from placing the order to picking it up--the entire experience went far better than I expected. I went back for my next project, and once again Syed handled everything just as well, if not better. As a contractor, this store is a waste of my time, poorly staffed by limited knowledge people, I think the employees have low morale. I doubt I will use Lowe's anymore instead just find a Home Depot instead. On a side note: This is probably a very good stock to short as that I think they're going out of business. read more

I have never had such a great experience at a Lowe's than I did today on 02/11/23. And I used to work at another Lowe's. So I was walking around the store searching for something, and Glenn (from the Electrical department) went out of his way and first greeted me and asked me if I need any help? I told him I was looking for specific storage cabinets and instead of pointing or telling me an aisle number, he walked me right to it. As he walked away, I began to do back and fourth deciding which one I wanted. Unfortunately, they were out of stock on the item. As I was headed out, I ran into him again.. Glenn asked if I found what I needed. I told him they were sold out. He brought me back to the aisle, showing me on his workphone that there's more in Bay Shore and Stony Brook to get it, he told me how many at each store and even told me to take a photo of the item number just in case. His customer service skills was so on point and it blew me away. THIS is what I call customer service, everyone needs to learn from Glenn. I tried to find somewhere on the website that I could contact corporate or send the store an e-mail but unfortunately I don't see anything related. I hope this gets to his manager, and I definitely regret not walking up to his manager at the store. As a matter of fact, I'll give the manager a call instead because his service was spectacular. read more

Looking for the fertilizer Milorganite. Show photo of product to young girl working the cash register in the garden section. She gives me a dumb stare and asks what it is. After I tell her, she calls over an equally useless employee, who tells me "if we have it is way in the back in either aisle 1 or 2." I do manage to find it and lug it up back to the girl working that register. No comment like "I see you found it." Or anything approaching a real human interaction. This Lowe's is completely inept and in capable of following up. I had a front door replaced before the pandemic and last month had the back door replaced. Needless to say (typical rhetoric) due to the pandemic the door and labor increased exponentially. They sent one person to measure and draft the contract. Her measurements had to be double checked when we had another visit (and he said he was the contractor that'd performing the installation). The contract added a new storm door (which we didn't ask for since we wanted to keep our Anderson 3000 series with stainless steel bug screen). When we asked for an updated contract we never received it (lots of back and forth). Fast forwarding to install date (several weeks later): The person that did the second measurement was not the person that arrived. The day was cloudy but all weather reports indicated clear skies. Installer kept trying to reschedule. Installer removed our storm door and threw it in grass -damaged stainless steel bug screen. Installed literally took 10 hours to install. It took arguing and having to call Lowes to get authorization to put the storm door back up as the installer did not want to budge. Installer's assistant (son) did the worst caulking job ever. The disparity between our first experience and this theme is so great I tell everyone to avoid them at all costs! They have never addressed the storm door damage or the sloppy caulk. I had a really great experience in Lowe's the other day. Generally I go to Home Depot which is near my house. I happen to be near Lowe's and needed a few items and decided to check it out. WOW!!!! There are actually sales staff there in the isles that can help you and know what there talking about, Unlike Home depot were your lucky to find a single person anywhere in the store to help you. I have found my new goto store for all my home and fix up needs. The prices are about the same as Home Depot and they virtually have all the same things. The store was very clean and very well laid out. The staff was amazing I was in and out in 15 minutes Will definitely be going to Lowe's more often. read more

Do not get a kitchen installed from Lowe's in commack. I had a kitchen installed by Lowe's that guaranteed it the installation from them 100% the installer got glue all over my upper cabinet dented some cabinets and didn't even drill the draw boxes properly. they ruined my kitchen. I tried several times within the year to have them replace all of the damage that they did but they would never return a phone call. No one knew what was going on and now they tell me they are not gonna fix anything because my warranty is up, bad customer service on them . They let me believe for two years that they were going to replace all of the things that they damaged kept telling me my order was being processed and it would be shipped but nothing ever was done. First of all, it's a shame that Lowe's can't hire more competent staff. I have given them multiple chances before writing this, but they let me down time and time again. Here are 3 reasons to go elsewhere: 1) They lie about their low price guarantee. Showed them a lower price-point and they wouldn't honor it Unless I produced a skew number from the competing store! A live advertised price wasn't enough. Wow. 2) they don't value their customers time. We ordered items from them over the phone with a customer service rep who told us he would put the item behind customer service desk.... a 45 min line later, I'm told they don't have the item anymore (aka they sold it to someone else) they had my phone number - why not call and say they don't have it?? This is only 2 hours after hanging the phone up with the store mind you. 3) they don't honor social distancing during the pandemic. As I am standing at the small counter In my designated square on the floor, the rep calls the next person in line up to the same counter... when I tell them there's not enough room and I don't feel comfortable... the old lady looks at me perplexed and asks me how is she supposed to help the next person... hmmm how about they wait in line for me to finish like I did for the 10 people in front of me? Covidiots. This place is dangerous. Spend your money somewhere where the management is appreciative of your patronage and cares about its customers. Worst customer service ever. Went in for a question for insTallation pricing. They had me sit and wait for over an hour. After the hour they said that I have to buy the product and have the person come install it to see how much it will cost. Seemed outrageous so I asked to speak with the manager. Manager seemed annoyed and stated that's the new policy and said to call the installer for pricing. Called the provided number and that person said they no longer even install that product. Large amount of time and patience wasted. Will not be shopping here ever again. read more

I ordered a stove on August 29th and have yet to receive it. I have talked to Lowe's customer service and the store directly and everyone has confirmed the item is in stock and there is no reason for the delivery to be pushed down. They then re-schedule my delivery date and nothing. My item delivery date just keeps getting re-scheduled. This is beyond frustrating and shows they do not care about their customers. Every time I call its a run around and hold and just a waste of my time. I can't re-order the item to another store because they won't honor the price I paid for the stove back in August and want me to pay an additional $500. The worst experience I've had with an appliance purchase and at this point I don't even know if and when I'll get my stove. Update 10/30/21: Stove was delivered today BUT then the delivery guys were refusing to install and do haul away (which was paid for) AND the stove has a dent in it. Bought my grill on Thursday 5/28. Customer service person said it would be available to pick up Saturday 5/30. We gave ir an extra day and went to pick up today 5/31- unpleasant surprise- not ready. Customer service person said I don't know why they told you Saturday, assembly people are only in on Tues and Thursday. Grrrr. Maybe I should have gone to Home Depot or ace hardware. Mon, 5.29.17 Memorial Day. Lowe's, Brentwood NY. Hey I never knew this was Brentwood, always thought this was Commack? Back in the day we used to go to the "Commack" multiplex theater which was a Mega movie theater that was located here for many years. I have many wonderful memories of that movie theater seeing films with friends and family. Now enter the modern era.. Welcome Lowe's Home Improvement. I have been a customer of Home Depot for many years and I have visited many of the Home Depots in the area. My friends had told me that Lowe's is a different, upscale shopping experience. Well let's see. I was very pleased to see that THIS Lowe's is open at 6 a.m. That is GREAT, I am usually up early and many Home Depots do not open till 7. As I walked into the front door, I was very impressed. Lowe's certainly knows how to design their stores for maximum appeal to their customers. The sidewalk is adorned with BBQs and mowing tractors, as you enter another large display of shiny BBQs will greet your eyes. I walked around a little bit to get the lay of the land I was also impressed with the neatness and well-ordered arrangement of this store. The garden department was very large and professionally managed. I thoroughly inspected the health and condition of the plants being offered and found them to be of high quality. I am very picky, and knowledgeable concerning plants. I found unusual types of blooms such as healthy clematis Vines, hydrangeas in all colors. There were many decorative ponds, trellises and other upscale garden arrangements to augment your backyard summer paradise. I observed the employee carefully meticulously watering the flowers it was really a very large garden department here. I spoke to some of the staff members and tried them on their knowledge which was astoundingly complete, it is important that staff members possess a wonderful product knowledge in the items that they are representing. The only negative here is that there are zero, zilch.. NO supplies for your car? I came here specifically for car wash supplies. I do understand why they do not have any car stuff here? Come on.. THIS is a guy's store, guys like their cars. GUYS will buy car stuff when they are here. Please do not refer me to the old crumbling Home Depot up the road. So I was very impressed with the Lowe's and will return for my home improvement supplies in the future but not for my car stuff. Lowe's gets 4 stars Today! I had to deduct 1 star for NO car supplies. So folks, if you're in Commack or Brentwood or wherever, Lowe's has your garden supplies Cause here comes the Nice weather. JIM D. read more

I do enjoy this lowes for their clearance selection and their prices beat home depot's most of the time. But their customer service at this location is way below standard. I shop here every so often and also at the bayshore store. When comparing the employees and service, the bYshore location wins hands down. I recently purchased a nice piece of birch 4x8 plywood. While loading it on top of my station wagon, three employees saw me trying to get the plywood up and strapped by myself at 9:15pm. An offer of help would have been appreciated but was not offered. I never write reviews but this time, I have to. Purchased washer dryer on 11/5. Delivery was for 11/10. My receipt says 11/10. The salesman was happy it was 11/10 and actually told me they had the dryer and the washer is coming in from DC and will be ready for delivery. 11/9 came and I didn't get a call. Went to the store and told them that and they said a will call will be between 6-9 to give me a time. That call never happened. I still took the day off on 6/10. No show. I called and complained and was told it was coming on Saturday 11/13. They apologized. 11/12 I get a call with a time. All good. 11/13 at 10:35 get a call from the driver. He says he has a dryer for me. I ask about the washer and he says no. Told him not to come. Called store and literally got 3 different stories from 3 different people. An associate, a manager and head of shipping. All different stores. Do yourself a favor and just don't go to Lowe's to buy appliances. So many other choices out there. And if Lowe's wants to question anything I have written in this review, please contact me as I have all calls, emails, receipts etc. to prove anything said. I work 7 days a week so I thought it would have been convenient to place an order online for store pick up. the website states that generally the process can take up to three hours . Well about five hours past , I thought because of it being a holiday week maybe the store was busy, so , I decided to drive to the store myself and pick up the items. When I arrived to the store , there were associates just standing around . Everyone seemed confused and annoyed when we asked for help locating the items . After being sent in the wrong directions more than once. One associate out of entire store was able to help us. I came here on Thursday around 6p to use curbside pickup. The line for getting in the store was out the door next to curbside and the person in curbside pick up didn't have his mask on correctly so I left. I then wen again Friday morning at 7:30a and called while driving. I was on hold for 11 mins until I walked into the store to see curbside doors closed. Went to customer service where the woman did not have her mask on. She called someone else who approached too close. I asked him not to get to close and he threw up his hands in annoyance. I explain I have an immune compromised person living with me not to be offended. His mask was not covering his nose. The star is for that person who was then accommodating and brought the item out to my car. Lowe's needs to do a better job. read more

I usually go to a home improvement store 1-4x a week to get various items for the house. Sometimes I have great experiences, other times its awful. Every time I go to this Lowe's its great. First, its located between my office and my house. It's very easy for me to stop there on my way home. At the time I arrive, it's a weird lull. I think most people who go to home improvement stores usually go home from work, get changed, than head back out. This lull allows me to swoop in and get in and out without dealing with a crowd. Second, I've mastered online ordering with in store pick up. I usually know exactly what I need so I order it all online in the morning. I'll get a call a few hours later that the items have been pulled and I can just swing into the pick up area and get out of there in a few minutes. That being said, don't order wood/sheetrock. They give you bad pieces off the top of the pile. Finally, the location of this Lowe's is not convenient for homeowners. If you look on a map, this store is on the South Service Road just East of Commack Road. There are very few residential areas over there. Most of the whole area north to Vanderbilt Highway and East to the Sunken Meadow are stores. There is also a Home Depot literally like three blocks North in the Walmart shopping center. This is a great Lowe's. It's very clean and massive. DISCLAIMER: Do not let them assist you in loading the car. They do not care and smashed right into my car door with a ton of cement board. read more

This store is truly awful, especially the unhelpful and indifferent attitude of the management. I'd give ZERO stars if I could. Example - I've ordered products online, was notified that my order was ready for pickup - and of course my order (nothing special-order or unusual) was nowhere to be found. When this happens, management is NOWHERE to be found. Good luck trying to resolve an issue with a direct phone call to the store - you will either be disconnected or the phone will ring endlessly. I've tried to get help by calling the corporate 1-800 number - and Commack employees are RUDE and UNHELPFUL to the corporate people! I've found a few employees who actually appear to WANT to help but are prevented from doing so because of the terrible management and procedures here. Please try shopping at your LOCAL hardware store instead - you will be MUCH more satisfied!!! read more

I will never give Lowes my business again. Customer service is a joke. I was put on hold and transferred so many times I was on tthe phone for over two hours all three times I called. Every time I was transferred I had to retell the story to every employee I spoke to. You never talk to the same person twice. Even if you know the persons name it is impossoble to find them again. The "supervisors" make false promises and then don't even call you back like they say that they will. It turns out in order to purchase online you have to have twice the amount that you purchase as available funds because they put in a preauthorization hold and then a separate charge. Absolutely rediculous. My account was frozen by this for almost a full week. In order to get my actual shipment I ended up having to open a Lowes card which I feel may have been what they were trying to have happen all along. I had to take off of work twice for a delivery date that they kept changing because of what they did to my bank account. On the actual day of the delivery I had to change my schedule yet again because the delivery time was changed, only to have to delivery show up 2 hours early. It's lucky I was there. When I finally looked the product over it was complete shit quality, but at this point the entire process took so long that I don't have time to return it for better quality fence before my installation date. January 22, 2018. I purchased about $1700 worth of shades from this Lowe's in November of 2017. Gloria advised me that they would be delivered by December 20, 2017, possibly by December 19th. I followed up in January, and was informed that a partial shipment was delivered in January, however, the installer would not install the shades until all of the shades were delivered. Several other phone calls left me still with no shades on my windows. I was told that a manager would call me back. I did not receive a phone call. I phoned Customer Service, and was sent to another division and I was told that a company, Installations Unlimited would call me and arrange for installation of the shades. To date, I have not received a phone call or my shades. My safety and privacy are at risk. read more

I wouldn't even give this place 1 star for it's terrible customer service and unprofessionalism. My family decided to renovate my entire kitchen with Lowe's and paid everything in advance. They messed up our cabinet order not once but 3 times on shipment. Delaying installation and our appliance shipment. And when it was time to finally deliver our appliances, they forgot the fridge and made some bs story on why they didn't deliver it. So done with this company. read more

Store is neat and clean but never any staff to help with questions. I have been here 4 times now and every time it seems staff is hard to come by or frankly just don't seem to want to help. I always heard how Lowes was supposed to be a more upscale Home Depot. In the past that may have been true but my experience this past year (bought new house and am always in a hardware store it seems) has been that Lowes customer service is seriously lacking- at least at Commack location. read more
