Sooooo I started renovating my living room & kitchen at the end of February 2023. So I started shopping for appliances. But I'm not finding anything that I liked that suited me. So I Bing (Like Google just different search engine) Appliance Stores with great service. And Gringer popped up. Tom gave me a tour of all that they had to offer including the downstairs. He also informed me that if I chose to use them that I could buy the appliances and they would hold onto them until I was ready for delivery. I liked this option. Seven months later, because wrong windows were ordered & kitchen floor needing to be replaced with new floor joists. I'm finally back at Gringer and Andrew helps me this time. Keep in mind both times I go to the store after work in my work clothes, so I'm kinda not smelling that great, diesel fuel & dirt on my sweatshirts. Not cute at all. But They treated me as if I had walked in with a Chanel suit. No judgement. And he does some thing that I think all customer service people should do. He asked me what I liked in the appliances that I was looking for what my style was, and what features that I needed. Then said he would put together some appliance packages. He asked me what I was OK with. Like if I needed to stay with the same brand or was it OK to mix and match and he said he would email me what he had for me & to go over them at my leisure, and get back to him. I appreciate a person who is a man or woman of their word, and he did exactly that. He gave me many options. He got back to me in a timely manner along with the options. He emailed me all of the spec sheets and everything had the cost on it. I went to appliance world in Huntington, Plessers in Babylon, Capuano in Farmingdale, several PC Richards and yes, even Lowe's and Home Depot. And online of course. So yes, I shopped around but from my first meeting with Tom and Andrew, I knew it was gonna come down to service which is very important when buying appliances . But not only was the service great the prices were outstanding and the fact that they checked out every rebate and discount for me was awesome. Finance options were also explained thoroughly. I didn't get delivery until February because this project is ridiculously long. So Gringer held my appliances for me until I was ready for delivery! My contractor took even longer to hook them up so I didn't know how great they were until this weekend. But I cannot recommend highly enough Gringer's exemplary customer service from beginning to end. And beautiful appliances to boot! 4-22-2024 read more

On August 30, 2024, I paid for the purchase of a refrigerator that was in stock. The seller Andrew Hever said that he would call in an hour to clarify the day of delivery and installation of the refrigerator and... NOT ONE CALL in 2 weeks. On September 11th I decided to find out where my refrigerator ? And only when I opened the door Gringer& Sons store I heard an angry scream "what do you want?", naturally I paused, but having decided that no one in their right mind would shout at a buyer like that, I was wrong, this scream sounded again when I approached the sales counter, 2 other sellers sat in silence, apparently this is the usual Gringer & Sons company procedure, to greet a buyer who has ALREADY paid them more then 9000, and has the audacity to ask where his purchase is. Today is September 13th, and I still can't calm down after this insult. And I still don't know where my refrigerator is and when I will receive it. Do not trust these people for installation! Some years ago, I paid them $350 for installing a window air conditioner. Just for the installation. I have never had a problem with my air conditioner, but the City of New York was inspecting my building and they say the unit was installed incorrectly and must be removed. I can now see that the brackets were left in a free floating position rather than resting or attached to the ledge. I called Gringer and they are accepting no responsibility, as it was installed years ago. I have the original receipt and they should assume responsibility for their incompetent installation. read more

Had to go through 5 damaged dishwashers before we got a good one. They tried to convince my contractor to take delivery of a damaged unit because I wouldn't know since it was in the back. I would give this store 0 if I could. We went shopping in this store today to look at appliances for our new kitchen. When we walked into the store, I immediately noticed a strong smell of cigarette smoke. I should have immediately walked out, but I stayed, as my wife was anxious to see their products. The strong smell of smoke persisted, and I later noted a female employee standing inside at the closed front door smoking a cigarette. I couldn't believe my eyes. I immediately left the store. Exposure to second hand smoke carries multiple harmful effects. I will be contacting the NY State Department of Health to report this violation, I am certain it is illegal for an employee to be smoking in a store in which they are employed. read more

I ordered a range from them and had a delivery scheduled for 10 days later. The day of my delivery I had to call to find out the time and was given a window of between 10am and 2pm. At 3pm I had to call again to find out where my range was, and was informed that the range wasn't put on the truck and that the warehouse didn't have it. They offered me no solution other than to wait potentially a month and a half for one to come in (no guarantee that it would) or to just give me my money back. Horrible experience. read more

Our dishwasher broke last Saturday. After researching models on the computer we chose a Bosch dishwasher in the 500 series. Next, I compared prices at Lowes, PC Richards, Sears and various other stores. (Home Depot does not carry Bosch). A friend recommended Gringer. I called and spoke to Arline, giving her the make, model and lowest price I obtained. Within ten minutes she called me back with a lower price, including two rebates, shipping and installation. Needed to replace my dishwasher with one that would accept the custom panel we have. PC Richard wouldn't install the panel, I'd have to do that for myself. Our refrigerator in our weekend home died last Friday afternoon and with Thanksgiving coming up, I was worried if we'd be able to find a replacement in time for the holiday. One big problem I discovered - our fridge has odd dimensions with built in cabinetry surrounding it, so we'd have to find one with nearly the exact dimensions as the old one, or else we'd have a BIG reconstruction project on our hands. A quick search on the net (Best Buy/PC Richards/Home Depot, etc) revealed almost nothing that would fit. I live in New York City and am familiar with the Gringer on 1st Ave, so we gave them a call. The fellow there ( very helpful, who's name I forget) said they "might have one or two" at their Commack location and would have someone follow up with us the next day, Saturday. Sure they will...does that ever happen? Not in my experience --- Well, sure enough, Mindy from the Commack store called us early the next morning with 3 options and sent me an e-mail with the specs. We decided on a Fisher and Paykel unit which they had in stock, and Mindy said they'd do their best to get it to us Tuesday. She later confirmed that they could deliver it Tuesday and gave us a 3 hour delivery window. I called Monday to confirm, and was assured it would be on the way. Well, today right in the stated time slot, the delivery van arrived and the set up/install was easily done in less than an hour. I will also say that $75 for delivery and removal of a large appliance is extremely reasonable, especially in the New York metro area. (I mean Best Buy gets like $60 to deliver a small A/C for example!) So while I cant comment on the fridge yet, I must say that Gringer get's top ratings for service and support! Thanks again Mindy and Gringer overall - I'll certainly look to Gringer again for my appliance need! A++++!!!! read more
