Ugh. I really hate to do this but where to even start with my last transaction at Lowes. I was ordering new appliances for my home. This was Dec 24, 24. I already knew what I wanted. That store didn't have the specific refrigerator but the associate reassured us that it could be ordered. Great. So I noticed the order on the screen didn't match what I picked out. We went back and forth as the associate is telling me it's the right model. He had my partner convinced too and I'm like no. So he pulls it up on the next screen and that screen shows the right refrigerator but that's not what was in the cart. He is adamant it is. This was about 20/25 minutes ordeal as I went back to the floor to double check. The associate reassured us it's the right one. Come the 28th, the appliances are delivered. The exact one I did not want lol. As I was so strongly sure of but was repeatedly told otherwise. I called the 800 number to explain what happened. The rep says thanks for the feedback. I'm like well it would be nice to speak to someone from the store, she says why? Lol as if receiving the wrong refrigerator is no big deal. So a store manger calls me. Looks up the refrigerator, couldn't fine one immediately but could have it delivered in 2 weeks. Cool. New refrigerator comes and guess what? It's the same one, same model, different color. Disappointing. Next issue, I applied for a Lowe's card. The associate said it's usually instant but today it wasn't and I should hear back in 3-5 business days. That was odd to me but just closed on a house so maybe that's why? Idk. I let the holidays pass and I call the 800 number. The rep says "oh, the store associate never called to verify you, let's do that now". Instant approval. I could have benefited from 12 months no interest but I guess no big deal because I'm sure i will need a lot of home improvements in the coming months. But still. How does appliance refunds work? I kind of want to return the washer, dryer and refrigerator and start over somewhere else. The service just doesn't seem worth the big purchases. This was a lot on top of moving from out of state all in the same week. Everyone is acting confused. I don't know where to begin. read more

Staff is friendly and helpful. Wouldn't recommend curbside pickup on a weekend but a wait is to be expected.

The biggest issue was absolutely no one to help. The store isn't staffed well at all so you're basically on your own to find what you need. The other issue was one of the few people actually working in the store was an elderly woman and she continuously hacked all over the place, no hand over the mouth no mask just nasty open mouth coughing. Someone please tell this old woman to wear a mask or go somewhere secluded if she's going to cough all over everything. So unhygienic. And staff the store please. Customer service sucks! Needed a replacement window. Waited at their replacement window section for a few minutes an associate called for assistance for me. Waited a few more minutes an associate came to the section but did not acknowledge me she went to commuter and did something and left. I waited there for 15 minutes or more. No one came so I went to customer service and asked about the area where I needed assistance she called someone and she told me that the person that worked in that area was on lunch break and there was no one to do customer service while she's at lunch. This Lowes is newer than most of the Lowes in the region. The store is cleaner but it seems like there aren't as many employees working and the inventory isn't as strong as some of the smaller stores. The staff at this location is friendly. Depending on the day, the garden center entry to the parking lot may not be open to the public. read more

Avoid this location if you can. Everyone happens to always be on "break" so no help. You will see a crowd of employees hanging out in front of the store frolicking, I'm assuming those are the ones on "break". Good luck trying to get a manager to help. Cashiers will apologize while they frantically look for one. I even called the store while there to ask for a manager and watched customer service employee put me on hold to socialize with each other. Best time to go, if you really need to, is right before they are closing, they all come out to assist you so you can get out of the store. read more

I love this place. Like any other Lowe's you go to, they have everything you need from top to bottom. But the customer service experience here definitely varies. In appliances, they are freaking elite. They are subject matter experts with their equipment and helped making my washer dryer purchase experience an easy decision. They didn't even try to cheat/convince you into buying something that you don't need. Now... the customer drive desk has fairly new people. Unfortunately there weren't many go getters at the front. If they didn't know how to get the answer, they wouldn't even take the extra step of getting management to help resolve your issue. Overall, I had a good selection experience but unfortunately had a very poor close out experience. I'll continue to come back because they never fail or have what I need. I just dread making it to the front of the checkout line. read more

I had a refrigerator delivered today and had paid for delivery and pick up. The refrigerator they delivered was severely damaged and they refused to pick up. I asked them to look at my receipt and again they refused. I teeter and totter between Lowe's and Home Depot. I love home improvement stores but I must say Lowe's treats it's veterans very well. We went in for a few bolts and walked out with new patio furniture. I found a set I liked in an ad laying around the store but had trouble finding it. I couldn't find an employee to help and several walked by and could see that I was on the search for something but didn't offer to help. The lady in the garden center could have cared less and just sent me on my way. When I got home with wheel barrow and plants, three items were missing. She had not bothered to give me the bag with the items. This is the worst Lowe's ever. The store layout did not reflect what was online/app. Their inventory is is low and customer service sucks. They told me it'll take them 24hrs to gather my app order even though all the things I bought was in the store. There were a lot of worker just walking and playing around. Sam's Crossing is one of the worst Lowe's stores I have ever shopped. The management is non existent. If the new CEO is trying to save them by laying off 9,000 employees, he should start with the management. The lines are ridiculous and the Managers do not care. They hide from customers and don't want to "manage". They let the employees congregate and discuss their personal lives while customers walk around the store trying to find someone - anyone- to help them. There is always a pile of merchandise left at the front because folks get tired or waiting in line and leave without buying anything. My husband and I came in to buy a new shower. While in the shower area a lady came by and was rude to my husband & asked him to move his hand. He was leaning on the freezer looking up at the shower I was pointing to. Then when I picked out the shower we was going to purchase, I checked the box to be sure everything was in it ( weary from previous purchases!) While checking out, the cashier DID NOT check the open box, she fixed it. A Lowe's employee walks in and says "my girl".... I immediately put everything together and realized we were being profiled! He said that thinking she checked the box for stolen goods which she did not!! I was offended as he tried to carry on a conversation with us about my husbands Eagles hat! This morning was a disastrous morning at Lowe's Sam's Crossing in Columbia, South Carolina. I purchased 60 tan retaining blocks (item#12233) which were on sale for $1.50 until Wednesday, March 27. The associate in the Garden Center loaded 12 of the blocks for me to carry with me on Wednesday. I scheduled to pick the other 48 up by Saturday, March 30. When my friend went to pick them up with the receipt, they brought out 48 gray blocks, which is not what I had purchased. Long story, the Garden Center associate keyed in the wrong code for the tan block. When trying to exchange the blocks for the correct color, a customer service representative said they did not have any in stock. This was not true. I check on line and the inventory for the blocks stated 751 in stock. My money was refunded. After calling and giving the correct code, customer services then verified that they did have the blocks in stock. I was told that if my friend returned this morning he could go ahead and purchase the blocks at the sale price, which ended on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 since it was their associate fault that the wrong code was keyed. When he returned to purchase the 48 blocks, Lowes did not honor the sale price. Needless to say, I was very disappointed because the customer service was really smelling like a skunk by now. I asked for the corporate office phone number, the manager, who by the way refused to give me her name, put me on hold for 18.26 minutes. She never returned to the call, therefore I called the store on another line to request the corporate office number. When I asked for the number, the person on the line was nasty and again refused to give her name. I can't believe this kind of service is acceptable with Lowe's. read more

She pointed me toward an area and when I got there I found vice grips. I asked another employee and told me "there in the tools section". Lol! This is becoming comical. We were frantic to find a fridge. We had been without one for over a week, were on a limited budget and need something fast. We were at one Lowe's location but they could not deliver for another week and a half. We called this Lowe's and was helped by an employee who was very patient with me over the phone answering all of my questions. He found inventory and prices in their system for me and even found the same fridge $40 cheaper at their location with a faster delivery time. We drove the 30 mins to the store and the same employee helped us further by working out a delivery date to be delivered the next day because of our situation. He went above and beyond and I will definitely return to this location for business because of dedicated employees like this one. Thanks Alston!!! read more

Went to turn in carpet cleaning. Wasn't sure where to go (Return or Register) since they changed things around up front. Was trying to get one of the two women near the Return section's attention. They saw me but they were too busy talking to each other and doing something else. No one said anything like "I'll be with you in a minute" or anything. Tried to get someone's attention to ask where do I go. I asked Bonte she mumbled and was walking away as she was talking. I had to ask her 3 times since I couldn't understand what she was saying. Finally, she reluctantly said you can do it here. She still was not speaking loud enough. She mumbled something again while she was walking away never looking at me as she talked. I later realized she when to get the book to complete my turn in. She was not friendly or welcoming. Then she asked if I cleaned the machine. I said of course. Then she said oh because a lot of people say no one told them. As she was giving me my refund, she suddenly came alive when she saw the woman behind me. She started talking and laughing with her. She was so eager to help her. She basically ignored me when she saw the other woman. Poor customer service. We all should be treated equally. You shouldn't pick and choose how you treat customers. She gave me the impression she hated what she does and don't like dealing with customers. But with the other woman she was totally different. Wish there was self service so you don't have to deal with some of the attitudes/personalities of some of the people on the other side of the counter. We ALL matter. read more

Worst customer service ever!! Desperately needed some discontinued tile. This Lowes was the only Lowes in the area that had any and only had 5 boxes. I called, spoke to the manager, told him my dilemma and asked that he please set it aside for me with my name on it and I would be in to get it. I got there an hour later and it was gone.
