No explanation other than the products I was purchasing were already discounted $1. The coupons had a discount value of $15 dollars. I explained to him through the cashier, as he would not come to the front of the store to talk to me to resolve this, that I called the night before seeking clarity on the restrictions of the coupons before driving to the store. I was told on that phone call they were straight dollars off coupons, any purchase, no restrictions. My purchases would have exceeded the value of both coupons. I put the products back on the shelf and left. Two weeks earlier I called to check to see if they had a product in stock. The employee was very reluctant to check the inventory and confirm if you had it in stock. I purchased products from this hardware store for years. It always had higher prices but good service, what happened to it? News Flash, for the same products, stores like Lowes and Walmart are 20-25% cheaper and the customer service is superior. These two incidents' let me know your employees really don't care about getting my repeat business. Your Choice.

We ordered the dishwasher, paid for delivery, professional installation, and the required installation kit. Prior to delivery, we completed all preparation exactly as outlined on Home Depot's website. This was a replacement of an existing dishwasher, not a new install. The plumbing and electrical were already in place, and there are existing 2-inch holes through the cabinet to route the water and drain lines, which is standard. After unboxing the dishwasher and bringing it into our home, the installers told my wife they could not hook it up because the lines run through another cabinet. This makes no sense given that the old dishwasher was installed the same way. Anyone with basic installation experience knows you simply tape the old lines to the new ones and pull them through. My wife even asked if they could complete everything except pulling the lines through to the sink cabinet. They said yes and then left without completing the install. I then called Home Depot customer service and, after being transferred three times, finally reached a supervisor. Unfortunately, it felt like talking to someone reading from a script with no interest in resolving the issue. Since it was clear this was going nowhere, I told them to come pick up the dishwasher. I will purchase from a company that can actually perform the installation they sell. I am capable of installing it myself, but I don't have the time, and Home Depot only allows 48 hours for returns. This entire experience was a waste of time and money. Very disappointed, and I will not be purchasing appliances or services from Home Depot again. Around $900 for Dishwasher $200 for installation now someone else will get that sale.

However, I personally think that Home Depot, in general, lags behind Lowe's in a number of key areas, mainly customer service and especially the garden center. Owner refused to take back purchase and to me it was unlaw to return chemical. Lowe's, Home Depot, and Ttactor SuppLu accept chemical returns. Also, DES (old DHEC) says there is no law that the chemicals cannot be returned. From asking others in area about my issue, they all tell me very unethical stories about this business.
