However, I did see a few things that I liked and probably would have considered a purchase if I were actually seeking to decorate. Before leaving, I called at 9:00 a.m. to let the store know I was on my way to pick up my order. When I arrived around 10:40 a.m., the experience immediately went downhill. I stood at the customer service desk while three employees were present, yet no one acknowledged me or asked if I needed assistance. Everyone appeared frustrated and completely uninterested in helping customers. After waiting, I finally got someone to assist me. Unfortunately, it only got worse. By the time my order was being loaded around 11:15 a.m., the two employees handling the pickup were rude, short, and abrasive. There was no greeting, no communication, and no appreciation for the fact that I was picking up a significant order. I work in Greenville and rarely shop the Columbia location, and this experience reminded me why. The difference in customer service between the two stores is night and day. Greenville has consistently been professional, friendly, and helpful. Columbia, on the other hand, made what should have been a simple pickup stressful and frustrating. When customers spend thousands of dollars and plan their day around picking up materials, they deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend the Columbia location. If you have the option, I would strongly suggest driving to the Greenville store instead.

After such a terrible experience, I needed to regroup and get a new clothes washer as soon as possible. I accidentally found the Appliance Home Store when I was Googling local businesses. I went to their website, reviewed their inventory, and found one I liked within a few minutes. I actually went to the Appliance Home Store in West Columbia beside Big Lots, which is closest to my house. I walked in when they opened and had my purchase finalized within 20 minutes. Two hours later, same day, the washer was delivered, set up, and tested by the nicest movers I have ever done business with. I purchased a state-of-the art GE Profile 5.0 capacity washer for the same price I got my basic Whirlpool 4.5 washer that died after just 6 months. It was the most seamless transaction and delivery I have ever experienced after years of dealing with both the good and the bad when purchasing major appliances. Just for fun, I checked other competitors for this same washer and most of them are out of stock and on backorder. I cannot say enough good things about the Appliance Home Store and their awesome service. They charge a small nominal fee for delivery, set up and haul away of old appliances, but it is worth it and these guys are one of the few that can do same day delivery on major appliances.
