As what I witnessed, the store mis-priced some bird seed (?) and would not honor the price (customer service rule #1) - then ... argued and threatened to call the police on this woman who just was asking them to honor the price marked! Horrible customer service that resulted in the loss of a sale and a customer…read more I needed 15 ft. of plastic chain cut for a feature film production currently filming in West Columbia. SC. I went to this location earlier in the production to get the same amount of chain and was told that their bolt/chain cutters were broken but I was able to get assistance from the glass cutting section to cut the plastic chain. Today, I asked for assistance and a staff member was paged. I waited for about 10 minutes and no one showed up. I was able to get the attention of who I believe is the hardware section manager, Pam. She told me no one was coming to help me because their bolt cutters were broken. I told her what happened last time and even found a pair of cutters and asked if we could use those. I was told that we could not use those cutters because of some sort of policy. I went to customer service and they said they would check with the pipe fitting section to see if they could use their cutter to cut the plastic chain. A call was made and it was responded to...by Pam. I don't know if she was on some kind of power trip and had already decided that they weren't going to help me, but she reinforced and repeated that the pipe cutting blade was only for cutting pipe and they couldn't help me. So basically this store has an entire wall of chain and a manager who refuses to find a way to help people who need chain buy chain. It's a hardware store.
