Just got 25 bags of mulch from Lowes. Paid for it and was told someone would help load it in the parking lot. There was a line 5 cars long waiting to be loaded and not one Lowes employee any where. I tried to call and the phone just rang. Finally someone came out and someone was on their way out. 20 minutes later still no one came. I ended up loading the 25 bags myself. Do not buy from Lowe's! Purchased two ceiling fans online through Lowe's. The put the original purchase through and then broke the amount into three parts and billed again. If you look on their FAQ you'll see this is a common problem. Large appliance delivery and installation: Hands-down, undisputedly the WORST experience one could possibly fathom. Do NOT choose this Lowe's team to deliver any large appliances. Save yourself the splitting headache and rent a truck to go pick up yourself. When ordering a large appliance from Lowe's, they explicitly provide a 4 hour delivery window in which they require you to be at your location during the entire 4 hours. They also require you to do prep work prior to delivery: physically clear a path in your home for the delivery team, measure dimensions of your old appliance, measure all door frames, etc. I cleared my Saturday schedule to make sure I was at my location from 11am - 3pm. At 1:30pm I received a call from a Lowe's rep to tell me the delivery truck was running behind, but they would be at my location no later than 3:30 pm (outside of the delivery window). That was a bold face lie as I received a call from the delivery driver at 5:00pm to say he was 5 minutes from my location. I told him he was outside of both the original delivery window and the updated expected delivery. It was also completely dark outside at that time, and my confidence drops thinking about installing a large appliance at night. So I asked for the contact number for the Lowe's scheduling team. The delivery driver refused to provide the info, and promised someone would call me back in 3 minutes.... That call-back happened 30 minutes later. When connected with a rep, I asked for the direct line to the warehouse manager so I could speak with someone who can provide me with accurate information as I had been 1. waiting around my home for the entire day and 2. lied to by multiple Lowe's reps the throughout the day. The rep would not provide any relevant info other than the warehouse manager's first name, Mark. That's it. Instead of processing a refund, I requested to reschedule delivery for a future date. If I find myself yet again waiting around, being lied to and receiving late updates, I'm requesting a refund and taking all future home improvement purchases to local Mom & Pop stores. I'll be delighted to pay a higher price if it means working with trustworthy, KNOWLEDGEABLE, reputable and solutions-focused professionals who can deliver anything above an OK customer experience. Needless-to-say, I have yet to step into this Lowe's location without waiting for more than 30 minutes to find an available associate. IF an associate becomes available, so far they are 0 for 8 in providing the right product and recommendation. Prepare to return your purchase the next day if any associate helps you. I'll eagerly wait for AI to take over all of these associate's jobs, because there is nothing left in the jar as it relates to Lowe's employee competence. I needed a piece of wood being blocked by a pallet so I asked for an employee to move it. He said he didn't work in that department and we waited for almost 20 minutes and couldn't find another employee so we had to move the pallet ourselves. We then found the wood wouldn't fit in our car so we waited in line to rent a truck. The employee made small talk with the person in front of us for 15 minutes. When we got to the counter we asked if we could rent a truck. He said no we aren't doing that now. We asked what time did you stop renting them. He said right now...... For me the store is like every other Lowes i have shopped at. they have a good selection and the prices are ok when using the store card with the 5% discount. Where this location absolutely fails is in the product delivery. I have had multiple late deliveries, multiple no shows, multiple no delivery notifications, and a refrigerator show up non-working out of the box. Unfortunately because I was in the middle of moving in to a new home and don't have my pickup anymore I was forced to have items delivered. The bottom line is make good on your commitments. Finally got a manager and she said that there was no one who could help me because the one person working was at lunch. Lowe's is the Walmart of things for your house. Cabinet knobs, weed whacker string, fire extinguishers, paint supplies, potting soil, ceiling fans - you name it. Prices are as competitive as they can be with Home Depot (though if your not in the mood to walk around a super store I highly recommend Pleasant's Hardware, one of the last normal hardware stores around, also with decent prices). Lowe's excels in their inventory and I also like the app which can help you locate the items you're looking for in this massive store - or it can help you check inventory and/or order online prior to making your trip out the house. Where it falls short is the staffing. You tend to either find no one in sight or you find employees in groups of 2, 3, or 4 talking to each other and not even recognizing customers until they're interrupted. Knowledge about repairs, tools, or home projects varies greatly from "Yes I can help you with that" all the way to "I have no idea what a hammer is or what aisle they're on". (Okay I might be a little extreme with that but you get the point.) Checking out also ranges in experience, but it's safe to expect one or two cash registers open along with several self-checkouts, sometimes manned by a staff person/sometimes nowhere in sight. I like Lowe's because they'll probably have what I need. Selection is good. Prices are good. I usually hate to look for, or ask for any assistance when I'm there though on occasion I've been able to find someone knowledgeable and helpful - maybe 1 out of 5 times. This Lowe's is conveniently located 5 minutes from my house. I believe its a really good home improvement store. They have some nice staff members. I remember over the summer I needed help loaded some mulch onto my truck. These 2 people were so helpful that I told them that I needed 25 bags of mulch and they just said for me to purchase them at the register and that they would grab all 25 bags for me and meet me in the loading zone to load them into my truck. They were so nice! However, I have encountered some rude staff members here in the past. Not a great experience. Compared to Home Depot down the road at Chattanooga Plaza, I believe this Lowe's is a bit understocked. I have gone here to buy a certain item, but I could not find it. I drive down the road to Home Depot, and they have it in stock. At the end of the day, this is a decent store. Same with Home Depot. It all depends if you like blue or orange. read more

I was in a Lowe's in Midlothian,VA. I was surprised how many people were not wearing masks. I asked an associate why they weren't requiring masks and she just gave me slack jawed response, "I don't know." I then went to the office and asked if shoppers were required masks and she responded that they were told by management not to ask people people to wear masks. I asked if this was a corporate policy and I was met with the same slack jawed response, "I don't know." According to Executive Order Sixty-Three, issued on May 26th, requires Virginians to wear face coverings/masks in public indoor settings to help contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. Why are you not requiring shoppers to wear masks? Is this a corporate policy of non enforcement? Never received a response from Lowe's. I have been a lowes customer for over 30 years. If this had been my first time there, I would NEVER go back and I'm not sure I will. The lawn and garden center was a clustered mess!!!! Nothing was merchandised properly. The plants were all intermingled together with no rhyme or reason. The sun loving plants were mixed in with shade loving plants and many plants were in several different places. I could not find accent plants at all which in the past had been merchandised all together making it easy to choose. When I checked out, I was the only person in line (not very surprising). I asked the clerk if they were out of hanging ferns as I could not find them either. He told me he would not be surprised but made no attempt to offer to find out if they were indeed out and/or if they had more coming in. They actually need to bring in a night crew to do a total reset on this department. The way things are, it will surely cost them some sales if nothing is done to fix it. read more

The woman answering the phone on 5/22 is by far the most rude customer service person ever experienced. The management is absent at best even when in the store. Do not buy anything you can't touch, inspect and walk out with that day. This location is overworked and mismanaged or Lowes has inept customer service training. If you want to be treated poorly, hung up on or told "you just gonna have to hold" then this is the store for you. While looking for shelving for our walk in closet the collapsed, we found some Allen and Roth on clearance..woot woot! Once we decided on which color to get we found these desks with a clearance underneath. We had an awesome guy that worked for lowes helping us. We all thought they were clearance too. However the worker began to scan our things to make sure the prices matched because we were starting to see things weren't what they seemed. The colors in the boxes didn't mat h what was stated in the description, boxes were missing items and taped back up and put back on the shelves. Noticed a huge difference in weight of the boxes..The lowes associate was awesome,as he was the one pointing out most of the discrepancies. At any rate the associate put the desks on the cart and scanned them,they were not on clearance. They were 136 bucks. He immediately asked if we wanted to have a manager come by. We said yes. Long story short the manager who was rather rude stated he can give us 10% off. I stated this was false advertisement and he should give them to us for the price they are displayed as. He stated he was not going to do that....there was no place on the shelf that had $136.00 as a price for anything. It wasn't one item it was three all on the clearance rack. I can't ask for more in a store: lots of selection, clean bright aisles and sales people ready and happy to help you. I've bought several appliances over the years and each time they are delivered on time and the selection is great and they meet all price points. Linda up at the return customer service area is the most happy cheerful and helpful person. No matter what time of day it is she's always perky and has a smile. 9/4 came in early. Asked very young paint associate about paints to use on my small project. Got 2 paints but Thank God didn't open either returned them both after getting better advice from a seasoned pro. I understand we all got to start somewhere but please educate him on the products you have. Also he needs to sound confident and needs more paint training 101. read more

If I could give negative stars for Lowes Midlothian Va. I would. First I had to wait 25 minutes for someone to come to the garden center to help me, I was getting a gazebo, was in a huge box that was not by the rest of the gazebos. While I was waiting for the manager to come a female employee was walking by and I asked her if she worked in the indoor garden area and she says No with a lot of attitude, not I'll get someone to help you. Then when the manager finally showed up, we had to look in five different places in the store until he finally found it. While I was waiting for them to get a fork lift to put it in my truck, saw same employee standing near the gate and asked her if they were bringing the gazebo she say "I'm doing something" again with a lot of attitude. Ordered on line a 2 gallon weed sprayer. Arrived defective, would not spray. The box it came in had been opened and retaped. Probably a return item. Returned to this Lowes and was treated rudely by customer service at return desk. Said right off the bat we don't sell that here. I gave her receipts and she still said we don't sell this here. Then kept asking what's wrong with it and told her twice it's don't work. It's a sprayer that doesn't work! After 10 minutes of looking at the receipt she hands me a receipt back and says nothing. Not great but not horrible. I've had problems returning purchases that were within the manufacturers warranty but outside of Lowes 90 return policy, if you sell a product you need to stand behind it, not hide behind your "policy". I could not possibly have a worse time with a retail establishment then I've had in this store. I have spent hours calling, trying to get someone to answer. I have had my washer/dryer delivery come at a time when I said I would not be home. They didn't inform me that I needed to buy certain parts for it. I will have to actually go to the store because no one in the whole damn place will pick up a phone. It's insane. And when I have been there it's almost as bad. Terrible Customer service. The employees SCREAM at the customers, for a mistake THEY made not delivering my appliances. Gayle in Appliances screamed over me the whole time telling me that it wasn't their fault they did not put my appliances on the truck that morning. The manager Al was standing right there while she screamed at me. I asked to speak with the manager and Gayle put me on hold for 40 mins while Al stood there and looked at the phone. (I presume he just stood there and laughed) He told me once he finally answered the phone that he was standing there the whole time Gayle screamed at me.
