We have been seeing our speech therapist, Gabby, twice a week for sessions for approximately six months. Gabby is energetic, playful, and terrific with children, and my daughter (who is 2) loves her. We have also worked with Madeleine, Eliza, and Devon (as a secondary therapist in our daughter's sessions) and we think they are all wonderful. One of the biggest benefits for us was that this office accepts our insurance (Aetna) and submits claims on our behalf. I would also like to mention that our older daughter had a great experience in speech therapy here as well about 18 months ago. Ms. Chen does a great job finding the right therapists to work with children who are knowledgeable and caring. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone thinking about having their child tested for a speech delay!

My daughter's therapist is positive, engaging, and able to captivate my daughter's attention and effort such that she has been able to practice and make progress on the sounds that are challenging for her. This is a remarkable skill - especially when working on a skill that is innately challenging to a 3-4 year old. In the last year, the clarity of my daughter's speech has improved tremendously, and most importantly, she is a far more confident, happy girl as she is able to communicate effectively with friends, teachers, and family. She is happy attending and truly enjoys her speech sessions. Josephine and her therapists are professional, exceptionally well trained, kind and great at what they do. We feel so lucky to have found this gem and highly recommend this practice.

I've had the pleasure of the service from the team at Premium Therapy for over 3 years. Katerina…read moreand her team are some of the warmest and empathetic individuals I've come across. This business is a real gem in the Inwood community. In my experience with speech pathologists their dedication is phenomenal, whether being flexible to a family's schedule to providing acute advice. In short I would recommend Premium Therapy highly to any parent. Addressing a negative review I read - Dealing with speech development issues can be a taxing event to any parent and it is very plausible for one to direct their frustration where it is unwarranted. With that said I want to put forth the following as my experience with the staff: i) the multi-lingual staff has always afforded the parents the ability to choose the language to carry out the sessions in, ii) Based on my conversations with other parents that bring their children here: The manifestation of traits that would benefit from consultation by a specialist are communicated as feedback rather than a diagnosis, and iii) ) I've never seen a child diagnosed with a condition other than a speech related matter.

My experience with Premium Therapy Speech Services was rather disappointing. I took my child there…read morebecause when I asked the pediatrician what I could do about my child's speech delay she said I should have him evaluated. After calling the first time I was promised a call back for an appointment but after a few days I had to call back myself to ask again. Communication and organization was really not great. When I took my child there, I have to admit the place looked nice and people were welcoming. Well, appearances can be deceptive. After the paid evaluation took place, I had to call three times (again !) to get a report which was useless because it didn't take into account (and admitted so) the multilingual aspect. After that bad experience I researched a little bit about speech therapy and found out that a child's vocabulary had to be evaluated by adding the words in all languages. Anyway, to make a long story short I took my child to another therapist a couple of months later and my child has progressed a lot. He started Pre-K in a bilingual school in September and his speech has improved a lot in both languages. PS : Any reviewer who claims any business is the best in the 5 boroughs either is lying or hasn't seen a lot of New York. It's fine for a pizza place but a child's speech development is serious matter.

I was made aware of my daughter Londyn's speech disorder by her then teachers at Preschool. It…read morecame as such a shock because I was able to understand every word she spoke clearly. I immediately scheduled an appointment with her pediatrician and once again it was confirmed Londyn has an impairment. I spoke with several speech pathologists in my area, however no one seemed to fit, whether it was scheduling flexibility price or personality. I was referred to Having Our Say by Londyns preschool. From our very first evaluation, Shontaye was very professional warm and welcoming. She identified all of Londyns deficiencies and devised a plan best suited for Londyn to succeed. Shontaye worked with Londyn 2-3 times weekly for over a year. Together they worked on reading exercises and making Londyn aware of which sounds come from throat or the roof of her mouth. Shontaye also reinforced positive techniques such as reminding Londyn to speak like a turtle (because she spoke very fast) so that she can be better understood. That is actually a technique that we still use to date and I've made her current teachers aware of. Shontaye created a solid foundation for Londyn to be conscientious of her pronunciation and speed in which she speaks. Londyn has developed confidence and is less frustrated when speaking in public. Londyn has had two speaking parts at her school in front of large audiences and I believe that is all attributed to Having Our Say. Thank you for time flexibility in schedule and efforts. Your commitment to Londyns growth and development will last a life time.

She provided me with the high priced Oticon hearing aids(I did want the best ones for me) with little backup info and NO instruction Manual. She left the room early (as she did on the second appt. also) and I was told by Samantha the intern or assistant there was no instruction Manual?? I called next day and asked Samantha if I could speak with Nancy DATINO ...I was coldly directed to call her DR. DATINO....she was not avaiable. I told Samantha said I must have a hard copy instruction manual. Samantha balked at this and said they only give instruction manual when the hearing aids are purchased??? Crazy! She finally not happily consented to send me instructions. I asked that a copy of my hearing test I was not given be sent also. These were sent and received. The instruction manual was indispensable; it had crucial, very important and indispensable info for these very advanced hearing aids. AND this office INITIALLY DID NOT GIVE ME AND WERE NOT GOING TO GIVE ME AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL UNTIL I PURCHASED THESE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE HEARING AIDS?? WILD! The instruction manual said I should have a hearing test with the hearing aids on...which I had asked for and Dr. DATINO said this test with hearing aids on was not done,. The next appt. I had lots of questions that were basically answered and I needed hearing aids to be reprogrammed a bit as I was not hearing well with them. They were reprogrammed. Nancy DATINO left the room. Samantha gave me an unidentified bamboo toothbrush and told me to brush the domes of hearing aid very well every nite...Brush them HARD Samantha said. Well instructions in manual said do NOT touch the domes...only a specialist does this I confirmed next appt. days before only to be asked again on line an hour or so before my appt. to confirm again I would be there. I confirmed and drove an hour to the appt. to find out Dr. DATINO has been ill all week and would not be there but would join us on zoom call. I DEFINITELY should have been called before this appt. and told the audiologist I WAS PAYING TO SEE would NOT be there!! THIS IS A NO BRAINER! And I had been asked if I was coming in an hour before my appt. with the office fully aware Dr. DATINO would NOT be there!! I drove an hour to the appt' to find her not present! I arrived at appt. fully expecting Dr. DATINO the audiologist to be present...I had an LOT of questions for her!! WELL I sat there for about 40 minutes with Samantha. Samantha trying to connect on zoom with DATINO and made several phone calls to her also all to NO avail. From our first contact with her office I said I had been made aware that time with an Excellent audiologist was of utmost importance!! I was with her assistant/intern Samantha more than with audiologist DATINO. And Nancy DATINO never showed for this last appt. I had a LOT of questions for her the audiologist! I told Samantha to please have Dr. DATINO to definitely call me so I could ask her my questions. I then returned the Oticon hearing aids I was trying out because I certainly did NOT want to continue care with the irresponsible attention, information and lack of time provided by Dr. DATINO. I told Samantha I still most certainly wanted Dr. DATINO to call me ;I had questions. No surprise she never called. I would tell anyone to AVOID this practice. I ache for those that are unknowingly taken advantage of! And the $ a patient can pay...oh dear me! Terrible!
