I was quite disabled when I arrived and it wasn't until I started to recover, near the end of my stay there, that I wanted to go home. I knew I needed to be there, and the staff members knew I did too. Most were attentive and supportive and any concerns I had (there weren't many) were addressed promptly. The facility is kept very clean, the food was good (they accommodated my special requests) and there are daily activities for the patients to partake in. Staffing however, could be better. Please note that the main reason I chose Sprain Brook Manor was for the physical therapy and it was definitely the right choice. When I arrived there, and I do not exaggerate, I could not sit up, stand up, walk, use the bathroom, write, tie my shoes or pretty much anything else that required the use of my hands, legs and back. Thanks to the amazing efforts of my physical therapist Gilbert and my occupational therapist Rolanda, I improved slowly but surely and, to the surprise of many, I was able to walk out of there and go home! I cannot thank those two enough and will be forever grateful to them for accomplishing the impossible!

Unfortunately, this week my physical therapist went on a medical leave. Before she left, she scheduled me to see another therapist. Today, I was there for my session with this therapist, who I have seen once in the past and did not like. But everyone deserves a second chance. This mornind, I was there for almost one hour. Other than a "good morning" when I arrived and greeted her, the therapist did not exchange a single word with me or even made eye contact. Note that the treatment prescribed by my orthopedist includes massage therapy, ultrasound, cold therapy, etc. During every minute of my visit, the therapist was in the computer. She only stopped doing whatever she was doing in the laptop for a minute to put detergent in and turn on the washer to clean towels. A nice, very young, but inexperienced trainee took the initiative to work with me during today's visit. She did the best she could, without any supervision of a qualified professional. PT Professional has billed my insurance close to five hundred dollars for each visit I have had. I do not know what they are charging the insurance for. Possibly, for more services than I have received. No doubt, the therapist I saw today could not care less for the work she was supposed to do with me. It was a really dreadful service experience. Based on my visit today, I would not recommend PT Professional Scarsdale to anyone. P.S. Several times I have tried to contact PT Professional Scarsdale by phone. I always get a voicemail. So far, none of my calls have been returned, as promised on the recorded message..   Update: I have received a call from the director of PT Professional in Scarsdale. The person happened to be the very same therapist who completely ignored me during my visit. That is, she is the person who should be making sure that all patients are being properly taken care by all therapists and personnel working at the facility. What a great leadership and model they have. A person who completely ignores patients under her responsibility. At the time of my appointment, there were two other patients at the facility. The three of us were being ignored by the therapist and were treated by a very nice and committed trainee who was doing, without any supervision, a work that can potentially injure patients seeking treatment. I kind of was shocked to learn that the therapist supposed to provide me treatment serves as the director of the branch. That is, sge is, ultimately, the one responsible for the quality of the services provided by all therapists. During her call, she offered a couple of excuses that are, in my view, completely unacceptable. Patients have nothing to do with any of her managerial challenges. It was her choice to spend the time in the computer instead of treating me during the time of my appointment. After this awful call, I have cancelled my future appointments. I have decide to look for another Physical Therapist service in Scarsdale. Please feel free to recommend. I am also thinking about sharing this incident with my health insurance.
