I've been here twice so far and I have to say this place is...awesome! I'm sad that I haven't discovered or frequented this place more often. It's everything a vegan would want in a restaurant. I always have a hard time ordering because there's so many options, but nothing that I've ordered disappointed me. The flavor, the texture, the taste is unique to each dish and the quality is certainly there. My favorites here is the Katsu Curry, Korean BBQ chicken, I don't usually order Ramen in restaurants but all the Ramen they have here were pleasant surprises, Thai Basil with the fake egg was great, the Mongolian Delight is not just a delight for Mongolians, but for us as well...the texture of the vegan beef was like the real deal and tasted savory and delicious! The quality of food here is off the charts! I endeavor to try everything on the menu eventually, it's too bad I'm from out of town, I can only come here when I'm visiting family. They also have a great selection of vegan cakes that I love that are not to sweet or overly decadent with overpowering sweetness, but perfectly light and creamy and soft. They also have coolers where they sell bulgogi japchae noodles, tuna and bulgogi beef sushi rolls and other frozen vegan meats that you can buy to make your own food at home. The place is small but clean, comfortable for lounging. If there's no room inside, they also have shaded outdoor seating which is just as comfortable on a nice cool day. The owners/staff are like machines, there was only two of them working but they crank out the food in good time and the quality doesn't suffer, it's always on point. You gotta admire that. This Loving Hut location is amazing! We've been coming here for a few years and the family that runs it does a phenomenal job. Prices are on point and can't be beat. You won't see the desserts in the online menu but the cakes and cookies are soo good! Occasionally there will be a vegan pie, like banana cream or butterscotch, very tasty. My favorite cakes in order would be Pandan, Chocolate Caramel, Ube, Carrot cake, Cookies and Cream, and then Pumpkin Spice. I have not tried the lemon cake or the Hummingbird Cake yet. The drinks are great too, not too sweet, love the matcha Latte. If you do go, depending on how busy they are and how much you order, there might be a little bit of a wait so just come mentally prepared as it's just the two workers. The croquettes were a nice size, a little smaller than a regular iPhone 15 length-wise and it comes with 3. It was crunchy on the outside and creamy, packed with veggies, on the inside. The crunchy crust complimented the soft insides and with each bite there were bursts of flavors. The Katsu curry was also amazing. They also give you an option of brown or white rice. The curry isn't just plain curry with a few pieces of veggies. No, they pack in the veggies. The chicken was also really good. Just like the croquettes, the outside is crunchy, the inside like a chickpea/soy looking inside. I'm loving the Loving Hut! My visit was just before closing on a Saturday evening. Parking in the outdoor shopping center lot was easy and ordering at the counter was quick and easy. The menu was filled with several pages of tempting Asian inspired vegan choices. We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich, the Spicy BBQ Burger, and a side of brown rice. Our food arrived quickly, was decently sized for the price, presented well and most importantly, delicious! The sandwich was better than the burger. It was also a lot larger in size. Life is full of decisions ................ go to the right and get a juicy hamburger or go to the left and get vegan - today, I got vegan at Loving Hut. And, I don't regret it at all! I was really impressed with the flavors and textures of our 2 dishes. But this restaurant is small, you can see from my inside pic half of the inside tables (there were only 4 tables). There is outside patio seating with a bit more tables. Even though we were there in the late morning, it was already hot inside. If you are here because you saw their website, you might come to the conclusion this is operated like a big chain - it doesn't appear so. The décor and operating style appears more that of a locally operated business. Check out my pic of their packaging - you don't see this type of recycling commitment very often. We started with the appetizer: Crispy Roll. The outside was quite flaky and crispy, and held together well. But the veggies inside were mushy. The sweet and sour sauce was quite pleasant: not to overpowering and, finally a S&S sauce that, wasn't too sweet. Our first amazing dish was their Nasi Goreng (without the heat). When you see the pic you'll see the vegan fried egg - a first for me. The texture was 90% of a real fried egg cooked over hard - yolk and whites. The flavor was about 80% - really quite good considering. (okay, I'm a carnivore so that's my flavor guide). This dish has the traditional Java fried rice which was wholesome and quite flavorful. I liked the veggies with the rice, it gave a nice chew to this dish. Our next great surprise was the Orange Pineapple. I'd have this again instead of the usual Orange Chicken at other Asian restaurants. The deep fried battered soy protein had the texture of chicken. But it's their sauce that makes the soy protein similar to Orange Chicken. The sauce is orangey in flavor and, finally, not sickeningly sweet. There is a depth in flavor and sweetness that melds together well. There are orange rinds and pineapple; this adds a zing of real intense orange flavor that pairs well with the pineapple flavor. I came here for takeout for three, and they were pretty quick to get my order ready. Parking was not bad either. They shut off the dirt plot across the street where people used to park, but there is a good amount of street parking available. Also, people park in non-designated spaces in the parking lot, so they're not very strict (which is nice.) I tried their Mee Goreng noodles, Indonesian croquette, and coconut milk thai tea. The Mee Goreng noodles were delicious and a comfortable amount of spicy, but I wish they had more sauce. I thought them kind of dry. The Indonesia croquettes are now my favorite appetizer there. They are so crispy and flavorful, and they are a decent size. The coconut thai tea is very rich and creamy. I don't know why I've always been skeptical of eating at Loving Hut as a vegan. Normally I am one to avoid the overprocessed Soy Protein meat alternatives, which is why I have avoided this franchise for so long. After my visit, I regret not eating here for the 7 years I've been vegan. I come from the Bay Area where Loving Hut originated and there was always this aura surrounding it and the Supreme Master. However, separating the beliefs from the food, the food is excellent and I could not ask for anything more at the price point. The service at this location is quick and they get the job done well. If your not one to entertain the spiritual enlightenment while eating, then ignore the inspirational quotes and propaganda tv in the corner. Just do not let the stigmas keep you from trying the food. read more

I have a confession - I probably end up eating here too often. That being said, I suppose that gives me a pretty wide experience in what I've ordered over the various times I've been here. Anyways, I like the food a lot and it's become a regular stopping area for me - for good reason! I'm not a vegan or vegetarian or really anything at all, I'm practically raccoon/goat-like in my ability to eat anything I see, so don't be afraid to stop by just because you're not vegan or anything. First thing's first - Loving Hut is in theory a chain restaurant associated with this religious group (I'm not an expert, but they have pamphlets lying around if you wanna learn more), but every location is independently operated and it's clear that each operator gets leeway in choosing their own menu - because the menu is totally different at each location. I suspect strongly that the operators of this location are Indonesian, because the menu has an unusual amount of Indonesian food. As such, here's what I've tried from the menu. I've generally been gravitating towards stuff that's Indonesian since it's kind of unique and not something you find everywhere (not even other Loving Huts) - or just typical American food I've been craving for because I hate my body. Here's some stuff I've gotten, in no particular order. 1. Burger and Fries - Burger was absolutely great. Solid bread, tasty (vegan patty), juicy vegetables - everything you want in a burger. Fries were fresh and crunchy - though not my thing since I generally like thicc fries/people (thicc fries save lives). 2. Soto Tangkar - A very sweet, thick, Indonesian coconut soup. Very filling and tasty - and the mixture of savory and sweet reminds me of why people often love Asian fast food (which I, like any normal person, also like). A very "tropical" taste. 3. Fairy Tale Soup - Tasty vegetable broth. Recommended if you like vegetables - I actually generally don't, so I didn't enjoy this as much as the other dishes I've had (not a bad dish, it just tasted healthier than I typically like my food). 4. Mee Goreng - Absolutely fantastic. The savory, salty, just slightly but pleasantly sweet taste that you associate with Indonesian curry sauce, in a perfectly well-grilled, just slightly crunchy but also chewy noodles. I pretty much inhaled this, so it's extremely recommended. 5. Indonesian Croquette - What to say? It was a good croquette. Lots of nice tofu and potato products in a well-spiced, deep-fried exterior. If you like tasty food and calories, this is your thing! If you're still trying to be "healthy", possibly because you've brainwashed yourself into thinking that something is healthy just because it's vegan, ehh, maybe not for you. 6. Philly Cheesesteak - The cheese was pretty good, as was the bread and generous supply of onions, peppers, etc. The tofu tasted like tofu and was covered in a steak sauce that I honestly found too sweet for my liking - but I generally don't enjoy sweet foods. I didn't particularly enjoy this dish as much as I'd hoped, but I think most people (who have a sweeter palette) than me would enjoy it. 7. Spicy Scottie - Absolutely delicious, and I don't really usually like rice dishes. Every single piece of tofu was spiced and savory-morphed (no idea how to say it, but you know what I mean) into perfection - the vegetables were the same - and I don't like most "extremely flavorful, bundle it with rice dishes", but this one hit the spot. I also have no idea what a "spicy scottie" is or where the term comes from. I thought it'd have something to do with Groundskeeper Willie, but no, and even googling the name just gets me the restaurant menu. This will be a mystery that haunts me to my grave, or at least until the next time I order it, because I now want to eat it again. Parking is sometimes a bit of a hassle, since it's next to a Eureka and every hipster is getting their IPA. Sometimes I park on the weird gravel area across the street and that works fine. read more
