I am writing to report a severe violation of food safety, cross-contamination protocols, and unacceptable customer service at the Ocala Love's Travel Stop location (#363).An employee making bread was resting it directly over the open meat bins while applying cheese. As a result, loose cheese was repeatedly dropped directly into the uncovered meat containers. When I observed this, I immediately notified the staff that I do not eat dairy/cheese and politely explained that I could not accept food contaminated by the cheese falling into the proteins.Instead of offering to correct the cross-contamination or remake the meal using uncontaminated ingredients from the back, the staff completely refused to accommodate me or correct the issue. This forced me to walk away from my order.Dropping cheese directly into the meat bins creates a massive allergen hazard for any subsequent customer who requires a dairy-free meal. I request that district management review the food handling practices, glove-changing protocols, and customer service training at this specific franchise location immediately. Love's is usually a great stop for restrooms, coffee and snacks. Today's visit was no different and was a positive stop. Easy to find parking for my Sprinter van and get into the store where the clerk did give a "Welcome to Love's" as they tend to do. Men's room was in good shape so I pushed the "green" button after I was finished. Coolers of sodas and juices and cold water. Premade sandwiches, cups of fruit and hard boiled eggs. And the coffee station with options for ground-to-order and all sorts of creamers. Maybe not the cheapest fuel in the area by a cent or two but still competitive. I went to this Love's to come and take a piss. Thought it was pretty good. Sure the counters were a bit wet but nothing can be perfect. The floors were very nice, it didn't smell bad either. Last stop to stretch and gas up before destination. Typical Love's gas station. Exterior with gas pumps, interior with snacks, cold drinks, grab and go food and Chesters Chicken for warm food and Subway for sandwiches. The women's bathroom needs to be cleaned more often. The floor in the stalls had toilet paper and there were no toilet seat covers. This restroom had the smell of urine. The sink was semi clean with water all around different places on the counter. Push hand soap with auto paper towel dispensers. It's an okay place to stop. read more

I was traveling through on Thursday morning and happened to leave one croc I was very tired- I called 2 hours later and asked them to grab it for me- it was 6:54 am Thursday morning I called- I then called to check and see if it was still there and nobody could find it but also nobody could see who was working to ask what they did- not only did they say they were going to keep my personal item for me till Monday like I asked- nobody put a note on it. it would be another thing if I didn't call and they told me they'd keep it but that's pretty fucked up for someone to throw it away with out asking their employees what it might be. read more

The restroom was clean and the fuel prices are what I've come to expect from a Love's Travel Stop, more expensive than most options in an given area, which seems to be the norm for this brand - so why do I continue to stop at Love's Travel Stop? My frequent stops at Love's is usually about purchasing diesel fuel from the fueling island located on the opposite end of the property, rarely do I stop here for gasoline but today when the rental car's fuel light illuminated I pulled in here at Love's out of convenience and got to experience the more chaotic side of this place - the trucker drivers go by a code of ethics and are generally courteous to each other and exercise a certain amount of patience's, I guess that's why they are often referred to as professional truck drivers, the four wheelers operate with a different agenda usually exhibiting a more aggressive side which includes fighting for positions at the gas pumps and they have no problem blocking or abandoning their vehicles while going inside to grab a dog off the roller grill or wait in the endless lines at the fast food options while the cars needing fuel jockey for position at the first vacant pump. Unless you've experienced the professional side of the operation this front end of the business probably seems normal and in many ways it is. The interior operation is pretty much the same, there's the cashiers tending to the masses and then there's the professional fuel counter where a stricter protocol is followed and it's much more organized, it's amazing how travel stops have been rebranded from the old truck stop but somehow they coexist although in a bizarro like world, I'm likely to choose a different option when purchasing gasoline being there aren't as many perks as there are when purchasing hundreds of dollars in diesel fuel... read more

Stopped here to get propane because the Loves we stopped at first could not seem to operate the propane equipment. He told us to go to Ocala. Propane there was 2 bucks more per gallon. Nope...No one available to fill propane tanks...Big disappointment. read more

I've had quite a few Love's in my day. This one is in Ocala. Ocala me maybe? It's a good Love's for doing my online work and plugging in, but only because I have my own Wi-Fi. Otherwise I'd have to pay for theirs. If you want to have a place to hang out near Ocala, in a parking lot or even inside, that's 24 hours in the middle of the night, which is pretty safe, this is one of your best bets. I have to give them a good rating even though service was not the friendliest in the world cuz they have the water that I wanted and I felt safe inside and outside while I was here and even got some work done. read more

What we once called truck stops are now referred to as travel plazas. Obviously an attempt to broaden the appeal to the traveler in general and not just the truck driver. Love's has made this transition from truck stop to travel plaza very well and appeals to their automobile side while still serving the truck drivers. One thing that is missing in Love's is a sit down restaurant, but they do offer fast food alternatives. All in all, a convenient location to fill your tank and maybe your belly (and maybe buy a trinket or two). read more

We pulled in here exhausted!! I didn't even grab my phone to take pictures, that's just how tired I was. The customer service from Loves to the Subway/Chesters that takes up a portion of the store was actually really good. We were welcomed, patiently waited on and the bathrooms were clean (thank you lawd)! There were at least 5 stands of fresh fruit including some in a refrigerated area near the register (greatly appreciated). Not to mention the fruit was all fresh and sweet!! ....Oh, and the Subway was fresh as well... As it should have been! I must confess that here in Ocala Florida I have officially fell in love with Cherry Limeaid, this icy has stolen my taste buds for life. Happy Traveling. read more

My boyfriend & I stopped at this gas station on our way back to Georgia to get gas and tea to keep us up on the long ride back home. When we walked in the store we did not get greeted like the white ppl did but sadly we let it slide ( wrong thing to do) then soon after We noticed that we wore getting watched and followed through the store while we wore getting our things. So I asked her what was the price for the tea and a lady named kim rudely responded " it's next to the cups" I was very close to just leaving it & going a block down to the other truck stop but my boyfriend talked me out of it. I honestly believe it was because of the color of our skin so that means we wore getting racially profiled by two white ladies one by the name of Kim. Directly off I-75, this familiar road stop offers more than just fuel. I found quite the potato chip selection here while on my drive up. I grabbed a coffee and filled my tank is what seemed like a desolate strip of Florida I was looking to pass. The detour didn't derail my ETA by much and I was able to at least move my legs before continuing my drive up north. It's mostly considered a truck so it has that rustic vibe to it but that's okay with me. The service was what I expected during a late overnight visit. I grabbed some refreshments and snacks to keep me going as I headed on out to fill my tank. The fuel prices are pretty good and it's vicinity to the highway make this a frequent stop for those traveling on I-75. It's open around the clock so that's helpful. read more

Getting Diesel and it took over 30 MINUTES to get 50 gallons! Pulling a 5th wheel & getting to a pump & out of station was a nightmare!!!

Ok so Chesters is in there they were staffed like four folks behind the counter, cool. I walk up a dude was putting food in the warmers right in front behind counter. Buddy said nothing... so I stood there let him finish what he was doing. I finally just started talking gave him my order. He was acting like I was bothering him. Paid him left. Unfortunate. 2 stars cause Subway was delicious. 1st, shower door lock was broken and I was told that its OK that it's broken. Huh? It's OK if strangers walk in on you in the shower? 2nd, copper levels in water was high in the shower I was in (see pic) so don't drink the water. 3rd, I paid $5 cash for fruit cups so no change due, but the cashier did not ring it up or give me a receipt. She left and threw the chicken back I said hey what are you doing I'm paying for that. Pitiful prices for diesel. Drive 2 miles further and it's 30 cents a gallon cheaper. Subway is like a feed trough: skimpy veggies, service with a scowl: can't blame them they are slammed and probably paid minimum wage. Decent hot dog stand. Good assortment of chips. It's a truck stop. read more

I live close by so I buy fuel at OCALA Loves from time to time. THE FUEL PUMPS ARE RIGGED to reset the fuel selection AFTER you have made your fuel type selection. Here is how it works; you put in your credit card and it is approved. Next you take fuel (gas) hose and put it and you tank and select your fuel grade. Here is where it gets tricky, you select a grade of fuel and the selection lights up. During the next 5 seconds or so you selection is forgotten and all of the grade lights come on again as if you have not made a selection. Your back is turned away from the pump as you go about to fill your tank, you don't see the grade selection lights come on. When you pull the handle and begin to fill your tank the PUMP now selects the highest grade of fuel since the pump erased your selection. Loves have gotten me a few times with their scam and I have ended up unintentionally buying premium fuel for my lawn tractor. Stay away if you can. read more
