Stopped by Lovers while on a roadtrip to grab essential items & they had pretty much anything and everything you'll need if you are ever traveling through the state. This gas station was large with various gas pumps, food options, a decent size barroom, & even a place for people to shower. It truly is a one stop shop! The food actually looked pretty fresh and as you can see, there are chain restaurants types food and beverage options! They had self service check out so I didn't have any interactions with the employees, they really just kept to themselves. As far as cleanliness, overall it wasn't bad. Definitely a great place for folks, especially families to stop, stretch, and grab necessities while traveling!

Clean restrooms were a welcome stop after spending the last half hour driving through sideroads in this part of Georgia to avoid a major backup on the Interstate. This seems like it's a larger store than others with more roller grills, more coolers and more snacks. Located right off the interstate and while it's not quite as "turn free" as some other entrances and you will need to cross the road to return to the highway. I do wonder why there are bobtails taking up all the RV spaces today. Love's always has the squeegees with the long sticks. With my Sprinter van, this is a huge help. Oh highway I - 85 rest stop and welcome center, how I love you!…read moreWhen we crossed into the state where the civil war begun, I felt lonely, lost, and full of despair. Then across the river there arose such a clatter! I sprang from my car to see what was the matter! Away to the window I flew like a flash, Rolled it down quickly and threw up the sash! The moon on the breast of the clouds in the sky gave the river below a shine to my eye. Then what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a welcome center and rest stop, to which I would steer. When I arrived in the parking lot, I found a variety of Coca Cola and Pepsi cola vending machines, their bright fluorescent lights emanating from the cages they were locked in. For the record, I prefer my vending machines cage free, free rein, and fed on a strict diet of alfalfa and soy bean compost. After perusing the options of the hog tied vending machines, from which my dear friend purchased a bag of sour patch kids to share with our group, I made my way around the beautiful building (which was constructed in a very brutalist architecture style), under more fluorescent lights, into the men's restroom, which was guarded by an angry green door. Once I entered, I was joyfully greeted by a crystalline structure of square white subway tiles. The top row was adorned with little green palm trees celebrating the heritage of South Carolina as the Palmetto states. Fun fact, during the American Revolution, the Palmetto trunks were used as barricades by American soldiers due to the fact that their rubbery consistency stopped bullets with an incredible proficiency. Once I had completed my business (the details of which I will spare you), I was educated on the resources available to those who find themselves victims of human trafficking (in both English and Spanish, ¡fantastico para las victims bilingües!) I returned to the parking lot where my car was safely kept. (The vending machines hadn't moved, thanks be to the cages). Next to my car was found a complimentary bag of chips! They were wavy, the best kind, ruffles, a good brand, and the bag was pre opened! Upon further inspection, they weren't even wet, which is extremely impressive considering they had been pre opened! Overall, the I - 85 rest stop and South Carolina State welcome center, (the welcome center is open from 9 to 5 Mondays through Fridays for those who are interested in learning more about the wonderful state of South Carolina, one of the thirteen original colonies!) is a place full of whimsy and joy! I'm am sure of the fact that it if I had visited this welcome center and rest stop as a child, I would have had many many years of fond memories. Parents, do not strip your children of the classic experience of seeing the I-85 east bound rest stop and South Carolina welcome center! Love, Road Rage

I stopped here for the first time in 10+ years. The waitress was so rude and the restaurant that I just got up and left, I walked over to the other part was looking gonna do my laundry, walked around the store and look, and I thought it was a lot lizard approaching me, but it was an employee, between touching my arm and calling me, baby and telling me to let her know if I needed anything. I figured I'd just go on down and get my fuel, not realizing there was food down there. That little girl that's working there has the prettiest smile and even looks like Goldilocks, everything on that bar looks so good. I couldn't decide what I wanted, so I got two plates and it was as good as it looked. I hadn't had food that good since the last holiday with my family, there must be different management for each building because you can tell that front building nobody gives a shit, and the fuel house like it wasn't even a part of that front building. I would definitely stop in there again just to eat in the fuel building, and I love the shop. The truck shop them guys have always been fantastic. Don't waste your time walking that parking lot to that front building, the iron skillet looks like it's halfway shut down. They just need to go ahead and sit at the rest of the way down. It's disgusting in there if you're hungry go in that fuel building that food was really really good.

This one although older was very clean during our stop. I rarely use the facilities at these rest areas when traveling in the RV, but after walking around to get the blood flowing again after driving for a number of hours I did here. The restrooms were spic n span clean I will say it didn't appear that the traffic was very heavy through the area so your experience may differ depending on what day and time it is. There are plenty of Truck and RV parking spaces and the same can be said for the car side, with easy access from either parking area. I booked and prepaid through hotels.com, and this was NOT disclosed. I went back and looked at the fee section to see what was listed and it only says $50 hold for incidentals. Ridiculous policy because I'm already here and even if I could cancel and get a refund I'd pay more last minute to switch to another hotel. (Hotels.com typically won't let you cancel and if you do it's a hassle). The excuse from the clerk is "well you booked through a 3rd party and we don't tell them about it, but it's on our website. You have to go to our website. This made my blood boil. Who books through a third party and also goes to check the website? NOONE! The point of using a third party is partially for convenience. I'm also told by her that if I don't pay I'll get a ticket. This is a terrible business practice and is ripe with potential for a class action lawsuit against Hyatt and the proprietors of this location ....which I intent to explore. I recommend avoiding any and all businesses that use these shady methods to extort more money from their customers. They act like they don't profit because of the booking through a third party. Well that third party gives the majority of that money to the hotel. I'm sick of businesses like this one who use the third party bit as an excuse to treat THEIR customers like an unwanted step-child/2'nd class citizen. Kudos to the clerk who kept her cool because I let her know in no uncertain terms my thoughts on the matter. This hotel knows they have you trapped and it's a small enough amount that most people will just pay it and not deal with trying to get a refund, finding another place to stay last minute, and switching hotels. And they count on that fact. Well I'm not letting it slide. It's not the $13 it's the principle. This feels like theft or extortion and I'm going to enjoy making as much of a stink about it as I can. Will be cut and pasting this everywhere I can leave a review. Enjoy your $13 peachtree Hyatt. Hope it was worth it
