Love's got me out of a tough spot very quickly on a Sunday outside their usual service area. Our driver was excellent and very professional.

Tried to get my Son's truck back and they refused to let me pay with my credit card, the card must be in the vehicle owner's name! Meanwhile, we are racking up daily storage fees. When I asked the woman on the phone, "What happens to a vehicle if someone doesn't have the money?" She said, "You'll have to figure that out." If I cannot ask the company that has possession of the vehicle what is going to happen to the vehicle, who can I ask? Pancake house??? Figure it out she says. Absolutely unbelievable. If I could give a zero I would. I got into a accident on the freeway and was told there were a AAA company. I got towed thinking I was going home. The driver says I'm off at 5 so I have to switch drivers. They take me back to their yard and the man says you have talk to the girl inside. This place seems a little sketchy!! I think they have something going on with certain businesses to make a large profit. We were towed from a building with very poor no parking signs and we were charged $485.00 for a distance of 1 mile. Yes, our mistake didn't see the sign. Sorry, but that seems extremely high. At first, I wasn't so sure I'd called the right place because the lady on the phone did not seem to understand what 'CVS parking lot at corner of State and Calle Laureles' means; she kept asking me "what is the location across from?". Eventually she figured it out. But then... I was SO very impressed by the service by Glenn. He arrived promptly and was very kind, professional, efficient, and knowledgeable; he really impressed me with his care. His calm presence when I was having my crisis was extremely soothing to rattled nerves! He is clearly well trained in how to deal with electric cars. 3 days ago I wrecked my car and the SBPD towed in to loves towing. This companies prices are insanely expensive and it feels like a scam. This feels like a is complete a nightmare. The woman on the phone is one of the absolute rudest people I've very talked to in customer service. I'm always polite and respectful to employees that work in customer service because (I know first hand due to having past jobs in customer service) how frustrating and demanding it can be. I called to ask for the current price to get my car out of impound as soon as my finished my sentence she was quick to come at me with disrespect and attitude mind you this is my first car, first time getting in an accident, I haven't been been pulled over for a traffic stop prior to this incident. The woman straight up tells me, "FIRST OF ALL BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT COMING HERE YOU NEED TO GO TO THE SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT TO GET YOUR VEHICLE RELEASE FORMS. IF YOU CAN FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GET HERE AND WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME TODAY BE MY GUEST BUT I WONT LET YOU IN AND WILL NOT GIVE YOU YOUR CAR. YOU NEED THOSE PAPERS THAT SHOW THE POLICE GAVE PERMISSION TO RELEASE THE VEHICLE TO YOU END OF STORY. AND MAKE SURE THAT ON TOP OR YOUR $1,050 FEE, YOU HAVE AN ADDITIONAL $130 THAT GOES TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. When I heard I had to pay $1,180 for less an 72 hours of my car being there my heart literally dropped. I asked if they provided any financial assistance or payment plans and she said "NO WE DO NOT! WE REQUIRE ALL PAYMENTS IN FULL." And then proceeded to hang up in my face. I called back and once the call picked up I said "hello I just spoke with a woman on the phone but I think the call accidentally disconnected." As soon as she heard that she hung up again and wouldn't pick up the call after that, just went straight to voicemail. I was absolutely shocked. If I could give this joke of a company negative stars I would. Do not do business here whatsoever unless you're okay with employees talking to you like your incompetent and stupid because you don't already know everything about having your car impounded before hand. It's literally their job to inform people who are don't have knowledge about these kind of things beforehand, I'm literally 21 years old haven't even been licensed or driving for a year and it's literally my first time dealing with this situation. When I go to get my car before they sell it at auction in 2 weeks I will be personally asking to speak with the manager in regard to the extremely rude front desk phone operator. Unfortunately my car was towed by the sheriff's department, and when it was finally released to me, I headed over to Love's Towing yard where I was unable to use a card that wasn't my own, even with the other person present, so I told the owner that I'd pay in cash, and she responded by saying they'd be closing in ten minutes, making it impossible for me to get cash, meaning my car fees would rack up exponentially over the weekend. She didn't try to stay at all past 5 to help me out, even though she owns the business, and even though it was Friday, and she knew there'd be no way I could retrieve the car on the weekends, because they are closed then. The business also has no office hours listed online, as they only show their hours for roadside assistance, so there was no way to know that their office closed at five anyway. As a business owner, I would have been happy to stay an extra ten minutes at work if it meant that my customer would leave feeling accommodated and satisfied. As a human being, I would be happy to stay an extra ten minutes at work if I knew I'd really be helping someone. The business owner locked her door right at 5, even knowing my situation, and she chose dissatisfying and upsetting a customer over staying an extra ten minutes at the business that she owns, even though she is responsible for their reputation. read more

There are no false accusations and your generic comments that you leave offten "to making better decisions" isn't a validate responds when I was the third party in the situation. Either way screaming across a hall way Is not professional period and a small little post with tiny writing that is not even visible until someone points right at it is like a scam. Experience was horrible, receptionist was very challenging. Frankie the tow truck driver was horrible! I know they are run under DOT regulations, they really need to give him a random drug test. My truck suddenly didn't want to drive after we had ran over a medium size rock damaging my truck. LOVES TOWING came through and rescued my passenger and I from hazardous driving conditions, freezing temperatures, snow and rain. I have never written a yelp but felt I needed too today. I went in before closing to turn in paperwork for my insurance to pick up my car. I asked the lady who was really nice and she said I could get my stuff to go around the side but only I could go my son waited on the front in the chairs thank god. Since there was no lock and she said go around the side I assumed I had permission to go back there. The owner rushes to me yelling what I'm doing back there and what gave me the right. I tried to explain and he said I couldn't get my things. He really went out of his way to make me feel stupid and humiliated. But was so proud of being the owner and putting me in my place. I'm sure he is a nice guy but I don't treat people or talk to people in those ways wish people would do the same. I politely walked away and debated on writing a yelp but felt I should my first yelp ever. Just a tip don't yell at people or try to. The driver helped me reset the antitheft system, which allowed the car ignition to work and start the engine. So, I didn't need to get it tow to the nearest dealership to get the antitheft system and car battery checked. The company didn't charge me for that one-minute fix (and now I know how to take care of it if it ever happens again), and I was very grateful. I was also willing to pay for his time and expertise since it had never happened to me before. My car just stopped while driving on the 101. The "good Samaritan" tow guy could only get me out of traffic to a safe spot. He recommended Loves's Towing ... I knew it was just a few miles away. They were very helpful. Even though the traffic in the direction they were coming from was at a standstill, they arrived within about 20 minutes ... unfortunately, the driver did not feel he could safely get my car from where I was with the flat bed tow truck he was driving so had to return to the base and another truck was sent. I settled in for what I thought would be another 20-30 minute wait (still far better than the 2-hour wait I have had previously when using my Ins. company to send a tow truck) In about 10 minutes I suddenly noticed there was a tow truck pulled up alongside me .... we were hooked up and on the road in just minutes. I paid with a credit card and am being reimbursed by my insurance carrier. All in all, despite never wanting to hav your car just stops in traffic on a highway, the experience with Love's was excellent and also reassuring for a woman driving alone! read more

I had a bad experience today with Love's Towing Inc. 211 E. Haley St. Santa Barbara , Ca. 93101. Phone (805)965-8233 I was just helping my friend get back his car after they tow it yesterday. The girl in the front office was extremely rude and unprofessional to the point where I had to tell her that she needed to behave like professional. She didn't like that and she used a fowl language. She told me and my friend to get the F. Out of her office. Also one guy came storming out of the back and told us to get the F. Out or he is going to throw us out. We didn't want no trouble so we left the building. We sat in the front telling each other what we do now. Let them keep the car or beg them to take our money. We paid $580 to have the car back. $330 for the towing ( short Distance ) and $250 to store the car for 2 days at $125 per day. They treated us badly because they knew we had no choice and they over charge just because they can. I think the police should cancel the contract with them and not give them any business and they should consider the complaint against them. read more
