The park is really nice on the old side. They did open a new side and since it's new not any trees or shade. I only have two issues with this place. One is the garbage. There is only one spot for trash and it is far. They cater to long term people who stay there and they throw out the trash in way out. For the day or two campers not ideal at all. They should do what a lot of other places do and have you place garbage out at a certain time for pick up. Also they don't like people to use the bathhouses/restrooms. Very weird. We don't do solids in our rv so we use the bathrooms at the campgrounds. Well there is really only one and it's in the new section which is a substantial walk from the old. There is a really nice laundry room that is massive just put a bathroom in there and let people use it. There was actually a sign that treated to close the restrooms because they were getting dirty. Due to those two things that are very fixable it can not get 5 stars.

It was exceptionally hot the week of our stay there and we really wanted some shade to help break the triple digit temps. Site 8, a Premium concrete site with almost full shade all day. A large FHU back in site, with a solid concrete pad. Booked it all online and its pretty straightforward, the photos of the sites are pretty accurate. I believe the premium sites are worth the few extra bucks. Full concrete slab with a patio, a metal picnic table and a fire pit and shade trees. Most of the premium sites have partial to full shade. Our rig and HDT fit nicely on our site unhooked with some extra room, not sure it would of all fit in a lot of the regular spots. Our site was exactly what we were hoping for. The site was pretty flat, with a slight slope back but very easy for leveling the rv. Power, water and sewer drain are all on the drivers side of the slab and fairly close to each other, within a couple feet and on the shady side. A nice feature on the water hook up is the tee double faucet set up, allowing you to run a second water line if needed. Controlled access gates, the friendly camp host is on site, the park ranger patrols the grounds regularly. Its very peaceful and secure. There are limited interior lights on at night, so light polution is minimal. Did not use them, but the restroom and shower facilities looked well maintained and modern. Dumpsters are located in the middle of the park. One of the nicest county maintained parks with full hooks up available, that we have been to. 4.5 Stars rounded up for the great shady spot on a very hot week 01311

That being said, the park was pretty nice. It didn't feel crowded. It was a bit more spread out than others. The WiFi was pretty good by RV park standards. The owners were friendly too. It's a no frills place, but very well maintained - they keep most of the spots' hookups heated so that everything works well unless temperatures are in the 20s or lower for 2 days, which made our December/January weather much more comfortable. The common facilities are clean and tidy, and the campgrounds well maintained. They even had a small lot where we could store our trailer at no extra charge! Best of all though, the manager is exceedingly kind and genuinely concerned about the well being of her guests. This will be our go to choice in the area!

Large Full Hookup Sites…read more I've stayed here twice now with a very long 5th wheel RV. Both times, I made my reservation by phone (816-503-4805). The reservationist was very pleasant both times. I've only stayed in the West Loop and only in Site 73. This site is large and on a corner. It slopes to the front (street) pretty good. Bring leveling blocks for the front of your RV. The site is very deep and should accommodate the largest of RVs. The site has 50 amp power, water and sewer with partial shade at the back. Satellite from the roof is perfect here. I paid $30 per night in July 2017. I'd stay here again. Clean and quiet and not far from shopping, restaurants etc.

We attended the one day a year Strawberry Festival this year and really enjoyed it. There were many…read morelocal vendors and delicious strawberry treats to be had, and house tours for $10. The house tour was nice. The house doesn't have much original furniture, but it is period appropriate and the guides are very knowledgeable about the furniture and the house as a whole. I'm sure the normal tours are better than the festival ones, as there were so many people and not much time. It is definitely worth the time and small admission fee to tour this house and property.

The home was originally built by Colonel and Mrs. Harvey Vail in 1881. The 31 room mansion includes nine marble fireplaces and hand-painted ceilings along with flushing toilets and a built-in, 6000 gallon water tank along with a 48,000 gallon wine cellar. Christmas is the perfect time to visit Vail mansion.

By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Upon pulling in, the hotel looks closed. There…read morewas no other car in the parking lot and the front doors were locked with a hand-written sign that said, "call this number upon entry." I called the number twice before someone picked up, the man on the phone said he wasn't expecting a guest and it would be a minute before he could come down. After fifteen minutes, the maintenance man arrives to open the doors and he then begins searching for my reservation to no avail. He had to call the owners to come down and find the reservation since it was booked through a third party site. I insisted on forgetting about the reservation and decided I would go elsewhere, but the owner said that I would still be charged by the third party because he did not have authorization to override. It took over an hour to get to my room after the whole reservation debacle. It was then that I found out that this is NOT a hotel. It is 100% your standard motel. Online, it was advertised as a hotel, so I was incredibly disappointed. The front lot in the motel looks like it hasn't seen landscaping or any TLC in years. At first glance, the motel room looked ok. Nothing fancy, two full beds, a wooden desk, and a sink outside of the bathroom. Upon inspection, the bathroom was very dirty. The tub had not been cleaned and was lined with hair. Same for the toilet. I did not get any towels, and had to go back to the front office which was again locked, call the maintenance man, and wait for towels. The beds were disgusting, more hair and the comforters had a peculiar odor. I am so glad that I had brought my own set of sheets and a blanket and pillow. Overall, it was a very uncomfortable experience. I am glad that I was not traveling alone; the whole time I was here I felt like it was the pretense to a horror movie. Again, by far the worst hotel/motel experience I have had. Completely false advertising by the owners.
