Beautiful and clean campground. Make sure you pick the right spot if you're looking for peace and quiet away from kiddos.

The…read morepark is famous for its picturesque beauty, walking trails that winds through forests overlooking the Missouri River. I visited the park in winter last yr and fell in love with it. Primarily I just hiked around but I saw many people bird watching, and enjoying the quiet nature as well. The best part is the scenic overlook that gives a beautiful view of the river valley, especially at sunset. When I visited the park, it felt calm and less crowded. That definitely makes it a nice place for families or anyone who wants a break from busy life. My suggestion to everyone one is to hike at this park and then head to the town of Weston to enjoy some hot wine at Pritle Wineries followed by amazing food at the O'malleys pub.

Small park that nestles along the Missouri River…read more Trails for hiking and biking exist on the eastern side. You can also camp and picnic. If you hike along the West Ridge you will climb up to the ridge and come up to some overlooks that look into Kansas. The park was unmanned on Indigenous Peoples Day, but folks were able to access the park. If you have pets, the park has a small dog park at the front end. Plenty of benches can be found along the lower trails to take a load off. Right now the leaves are turning into their fall shades and the birds that come in the fall are arriving for the birders that are on the hunt. Plenty of information can be found at the trail head. There are clean bathrooms. The water fountains don't work, but the taps do. The weather today was awesome. I will return.

Blue Springs Campground - Lee's Summit, MO…read more We recently stayed at Blue Springs Campground, located inside a well-maintained county park in Lee's Summit. It's a gated campground, which made us feel secure, and they offer a discount for military veterans--definitely appreciated. We tent camped on a site with electricity, but found that the space had very little flat, grassy area for setting up a tent comfortably. It's clear that this campground caters more to RVs than tent campers. That said, the campsites were spacious, and the entire campground was clean, quiet, and well-kept. Bathrooms were functional and generally clean, but one downside was that they didn't provide hand soap, which felt like a basic necessity that was missing. The location is a big plus--just 15 minutes from Arrowhead Stadium, which is super convenient if you're in town for a Kansas City Chiefs game. Be aware that outside firewood isn't allowed, and you must purchase it on-site for $7 per bundle. Overall, it's a peaceful, tidy spot with generous sites and a great location--just be prepared if you're tent camping, as amenities lean more RV-friendly.

I forgot to check in while I was here. This is a great camping spot when in town for a chiefs game…read more It's only 17 minutes from the stadium. Also, there is easy access to the highway and a mega gas station. Super Walmart and super target are also less than 10 minutes away. What I loved about it, is that it is small and easy to get in and out of also if you get a spot with electricity and water, the water is right there in your spot, you don't have to trudge to a common area water pump. The couple that runs the area is super friendly and helpful and the grounds are clean and well kept. Also, another great thing about it practically all the campers there are in RVs so it appeared that no one else was using the bathrooms but us. Major score and they were also super clean and free of spiders, I personally am very thankful for that. Blue Springs is now our go to spot for future games until it gets too cold to camp. The only downside is that you cannot bring outside wood, you have to get their wood @ $7 a cord and the prices are small and dry and burn up very quickly, 4 cords of wood didn't even last 1 evening. So while the spot with water and 50 amp electricity was just $56 for 2 nights, we spent $35 in wood and after that burnt out, we just did without. Also, DO NOT USE GPS to find it, you will end up over an hour away on someone's private property on a dirt road, you must use the directions via Google.
