Gaea Retreat Center is a special place. I visited it in July of 2025 and was amazed at how peaceful and lovely it was. It is a place where nature is protected, and people are valued. I felt safe and welcome. I visited with many people that day, including one staff member. All were fun, relaxed and so kind. I was told there is sacred ground there. In truth, all ground is sacred, but I know what they meant. I was away from my day to day troubles and felt a bit like Alice in Wonderland, the world was unique, not normal in the best of ways. Walking a trail, I came a cross a small treasure chest near a old campfire sight. I even walked the trail in the buff, loving the breeze and enjoying the peace. I left reinvigorated and ready for what life has next. I will be back and am glad to recommend this wonderful place. read more

Well where should I begin, my first time visiting Gaea was on the 11th of July. I heard some mix reviews from friends who told me about this place from their past experiences from many years ago. I just recently returned this past week for a day pass and and overnight stay as well. I will say that it was a really fun time. Facilities: Main Hall, Dining Hall, Registration office, Showers & changing rooms / Bathrooms, Camp ground, campfire pits, RV hooks, etc... Amenities: Hiking trails, Lake, Swimming, Fishing... My experience while I was visiting is that the retreat center is a bit of a need of a fixer upper. Many of the main buildings could use a lot of maintenance. However being that the location of this retreat center is out in the country side most of the buildings have begun to age with the time and weather. Which gives this place its earth rising based appeal to it. Personally beside what most people think this is also a wonderful place to host events. Many of the sites around Gaea are very beautiful and peaceful. If you are looking to have a fun time or get away for a weekend trip, this will totally give you that relaxing appeal to it. Whatever your searching for in terms of peace and relaxation this place is where it is at. I found many sites on the grounds that provided me with a bunch of both. I have also read reviews about is this a Nudist camp or clothing optional? This is not a Nudist Camp, however "Clothing" is optional In many areas of the grounds. If you desire to learn more about these rules and conditions you can call and find out or visit and speak with one of the caretakers on site. They can give you all the information in regards to this. My last remark will be that for me I personally found this place to be a wonderful peace of heaven near to my home town. Its nice that its so close near by, making trips out to and back is very nice. My desire for why I visited Gaea was to find a place where I could be Nude and find peace of mind while enjoying outdoor activities. This place gives me the freedom to be myself and meet and spend time with interesting new people. Its my hope that this land and its people on it help bring what I call Family into my life. Also one "Major piece of INFO" Please make sure you book a day pass on their website before venturing out to Gaea. You will not have any signal to access the internet when you arrive at the Main Gate. This happened to me on Wednesday July 24. Please make sure you book a Day pass or overnight pass in advance. Also their website page is under construction, so when you visit the site you will see a log in at the top right to make an account. If your wanting to book a day pass please follow these Directions: 1. Home Page: highlight Events - Camp Registration 2. Camp Registration - First tab - INFO - Register HERE - Click button. 3. New page will open up, Online Registration software for Gaea Retreat center tri-2 2024 will be the page you will be on. Next, follow the steps on how to Create Account and fully complete the application process. Once you have fully 100% complete the application and verified your Email, you should be approved. 4. Dashboard: Scroll down to Attendee Profiles and select "Add Passes" 5. Select Tickets - here you will be able to pre order your day passes and book ahead for which ever week or weekend you wish to attend. 6. Make sure you check the "Home Page" - Calendar for any upcoming events before purchasing your tickets. This way you can plan around the upcoming events and plan out your trip accordingly. 7. After you purchase your tickets you will receive a valid email from Gaea within 24hrs confirming your purchase and be given a active gate code for the days in which you plan to visit. Please Note Gate codes only work for single day use if you purchase a single day pass. They don't work for the entire week you may have chosen to go. Restrooms So back behind the Dining Hall you will see a large building facility and inside you will find the bathrooms, Changing space, and Showers. The bathrooms are what I would expect out in the country side, dirty, with spiders and cobwebs. When you go to into the large Facility there are 3 access doors. One leads into the bathroom which has 3-4 stalls with curtains for added privacy. A few sinks to wash your hands and paper towels. To the side of the Bathroom you have a public changing space, No privacy at all. On the other side of the bathrooms is the showers, they have 5 open shower heads and a few more in a curtain closed off section for those needing or wanting some extra privacy while showering. read more

Gaea Retreat is a balm to my soul. So far, I have attended twice, utilizing their clothing optional beach, but I look forward to returning for camping and further activities. Gaea is a welcoming place, though the distance of the drive prohibits me from going as often as I'd like. Don't forget to check the calendar on their website to make sure the areas you wish to use are available for your chosen date. Love the place. Great hiking trails and open fields, all nude if you wish, and I definitely DO!! Many side trails off the challenging blood and bluff trails that circle the lake and the field trails if you don't feel safe on the rocks. Great nude camping sites in many areas as public or private back in the woods as you like. ABSOLUTELY, check the calendar BEFORE venturing out. There are times the entire camp is reserved for use by a single group. read more
