Wow, new owners have made incredible improvements. A must place to visit. They are still working hard to make this a premier destination.

It's alot of direction to venture into. The water park OMG massive slides, lazy river, kids sections, kid playground, swimming pool fun with basketball hoops what more could a kid ask for. Starbucks and ice cream store, a deli market, a bar and grill restaurant, a pizzeria there is plenty of options to eat. Arcade room available and mini golf as well. The cons are if you have older kids there is no outlets in the kid room in case you are thinking of bringing extra devices to entertain your big one. The outlets are in the main area and not easy to find. This lodge is cashless. They do not accept cash anywhere! Only credit card and debit card. They do have a cash card you can put monies on but just one time , so be sure to add up everything you plan on buying tax included because it's not a card you can reload. It does not give change back either AND it's a 2.00 fee to load. The arcade is the same way but you can reload on that card but it's a 2.00 fee initially. Staff was friendly and security was on campus. Parking is license plate based , they will ask for your plate number and after that you are free to park wherever fyi. Mini golf has its own outside section , it looked fun but just too cold to play. Wristbands are your keys. It's a $50 dollar fee to replace so make sure you guys keep that band attached. It' gets you in your cabin, water park, and activities around the place and stores if you attach to your credit card.

We visited during winter break and had an awesome time. The pool area is fantastic for all ages,…read morefrom toddlers to teens; they have various slides, a multi-level treehouse, and several different play areas. We also did the "Pup Pass," which was definitely worth it. It included a Build-A-Bear (my son's first!), ice cream, a cup of candy, and a $5 arcade pass. While the food on-site isn't the healthiest, it's decent. A great tip is to bring your own snacks or meals, as the rooms are equipped with a fridge and microwave. We found that one night was the perfect amount of time for us.

Kenna is quite amazing with her presentation and the quality of food exceeds any expectation we've ever had. Unfortunately, a quick getaway this time quickly turned into an unpleasant experience. After dinner both of our keycards stopped working. We called the Inn for assistance and knocked on the main door but received no response. Luckily, another patron of the Inn easily slid a credit card into the room door jam and unlocked our door. We were lucky to have someone help us get into the room but equally concerned with the fact that the room door had to be left open/unlocked for the remainder of our stay to avoid future lockout situations. Additionally, the lack of effort it took for someone to open our door is more than concerning for safety reasons. To top off a lovely day and a hiccup with our keys not working the Inn elected to charge us extra (above our nightly rate) for unknown reasons. Again, calls to the Inn were not answered or returned. I don't usually take time to write reviews and would have overlooked our room keys not working if it wasn't for the unknown charges on our card. It's sad to experience what I would call a potential for a 5-star review be handled so poorly due to a lack of any response from the Inn. I hope this review prompts the Inn to improve the quality of communication and duty of care for their patrons.

The lounge is lively with beautiful people, first class service (even when busy), a solid flatbread and tasty drink concoctions!! Beautiful, well appointed rooms and incredibly clean, up to date and awesome skyline views. Top it off with a fantastic location in the Crossroads...this is a must stay any time of the year!!

Valet & front desk were lovely. It ends there. I was disappointed to not receive a room overlooking…read morethe true city... not the crossroads and another wing of the hotel - after requesting such on a very slow Sunday. But hey... we got the top floor and could see the Ferris wheel and directly into other spaces of the hotel. The bathroom- supposedly luxury towels but were extremely frayed and thin. The amenities were fine but not special. The toilet is separated by a frosted 1/4 wall... but yet provided no privacy. It did serve to hide the look of the toilet though if that was merely a design decision rather than customer experience choice. The lighting was subpar. The internet was non existent and tv.. not even the option to stream your own Netflix. Which we needed because there was nothing else to do in the hotel (besides drink at the bar or swim with the rowdy kids on the terrace level ... or whatever that was). I woke up so tired after sleeping in the hot room (turned temp down as far as it would go, and had to kick off all covers) Just awful. When going to bed by 9pm and waking at 7am I should've felt rested and renewed. It was absolutely not my experience, nor my daughters. Overall, it's not at all the worst place... but definitely not near the top of nicest either.

My first room, a standard room overlooking the Plaza, had a minor issue with the TV and telephone. I went back to the front desk, and without any hesitation or questions, they immediately moved me to another room, actually, a suite. What a lovely surprise! I enjoyed relaxing late at night, watching movies, and enjoying cauliflower pizza from Martin City Brewery, just a couple of blocks away. The bed was very comfortable, and the water temperature and pressure were perfect. I highly recommend The Raphael Hotel to anyone looking for a great stay on the Plaza.

I reserved a Plaza-view room via Marriott BonVoy. I am Gold Elite. However, upon check in, the only…read moreroom available was room 101. (You know it's bad when the front desk apologizes before you've even seen the room.) For Gold Elite, that's unacceptable -- that's a "walk in off the street" room. Just poor run of house management by the booking staff. Indeed, I walked around the corner from the front desk to find that the room was small, dated, didn't smell good, the "plaza view" was an up-close view of the valet stand, and the bed felt decades old. Any room in a Marriott "budget" property is better than that, never mind a so-called Autograph Collection property. I went back to the front desk to cancel the room, and miraculously in the five minutes since check-in, two other rooms had become available, but neither was a plaza view, though they offered to refund me the difference. I was considering whether I wanted to change rooms when, at that moment, I saw a man walk into the lobby, ushering someone I can only describe as a "lady of the evening" with him into the elevator. No subtlety at all -- that's the kind of property this is. I asked to speak to the manager on duty, but of course there was no manager on the property. No wonder it's the wild west at this place! I immediately declined the alternate room and cancelled my reservation. I appreciate the courteous assistance from Amy at the front desk, but this property is gross all the way around -- it needs a total tear-down/reno. It's an embarrassment as an Autograph property. Marriott has some work to do to acquire a truly high-end property in downtown KC.
