Love's is inside the Public Market - tucked in the back, but so worth finding! I'm dairy-free, and they had six different vegan and gluten-free options, which is a dream. They offer free tastings, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! I ended up getting the vegan dark chocolate, vegan amaretto cherry, and vegan lavender blueberry - loved all three! The texture is like gelato, but the staff explained it's more coconut-based. Bonus: there's plenty of seating nearby, making it a great little spot to chill and enjoy your treat. Definitely coming back!
Delicious, premium ice cream with so many unique flavors. I love that everything is made in-house and you can really taste the quality. Its really more like a 3.89 more below. This is a cute little spot located in the food market with cute flavors including your basics. Do yourself a favor and get the blueberry lavender holy cow was it good. The other flavors were good enough but this is the clear winner The reason for the 3 stars is the portion size. I paid for a double scoop and I kid you not it was more like a child size. Maybe I'm just being a greedy American but I really have never went to get ice cream and was served such a small sized scoop... other than that amazing flavors and friendly staff.
Just stumbled upon this ice cream shop when we were at the marketplace for the first time in Grand Rapids. The prices were well the quality of ice cream. My favorite was the amaretto cherry, which just happened to be vegan. I wouldn't usually order this ice cream. That's chocolate is my favorite flavor and I'm not into vegan but holy cow was this ever great! We decided to go with a flight of five scoops which was a great choice. We ordered chocolate with brownie bites. Blueberry with lavender, coconut fudge, Heath crunch. The young woman who scooped ice cream for us must've loved her job because she offered everyone a taste test, even if they were ready to order!

Example I ordered a White Russian and it came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a rocks glass with vodka and Kahlua poured over it. I picked at it in the glass then asked to have it mixed up into a milkshake. They were very accommodating. Note: If you do get an alcohol ice cream, you do have to stay at the bar/seating area until you are finished. The facility is located inside the Eastern market. When you go through the front entrance to the building this facility is directly to the right. They offer grass-fed dairy ice cream non-dairy vegan gelato milkshakes waffle cones pints quartz flights their alcohol options include: Woodford reserve, makers Mark, Kahlua, Tito's vodka, and amaretto to name a few. I tried a few samples of their ice cream, their dark chocolate and the lavender blueberry. I ended up getting a cup of the lavender blueberry as well. The taste of the lavender blueberry was light, refreshing and delicious. The facility was clean and Open seating. The staff was helpful and very friendly. Prices reasonable for alcohol and ice cream. Worth the money for the day I had.
One of my favorite Gelato places ever. The service is always exceptional, with a smile, and they give good portions with lots of love (No pun intended ). They are located at the Downtown GR Market and it's such a perfect place to go, cause you can enjoy a meal and go right down the first floor near on of the entrances and enjoy a sweet afterwards! The ambiance is so cute and chill :) You can go there for any occasion with anyone and created wonderful memories there while you and your loved ones enjoy some yummy sweet treats!
Love's gelato is my love language. As someone who is dairy free and is drawn more towards vegan options when it comes to desserts, I would highly recommend Love's ice cream. It's located in the downtown market, the staff are always genuinely great, and they now offer online ordering (Great for when out of town). Over the years, with family and friends, I have tried and loved all of the following vegan flavors: Lavender blueberry, dark chocolate, mint chip, cherry, orange mango, pumpkin spice, peanut butter, and etc. all are delicious.

I love how they have just as many vegan options as non-vegan options, as ice cream places usually will just have 1 or 2 vegan flavors. I got amaretto cherry and I'm OBSESSED. I love love love Love's!!

When looking up ice cream to try in Grand Rapids, I saw that Love's had great reviews so I was unphased by the 25 minute walk it took us to get there. In the end, it was soo worth it. Not only does Love's have a great assortment of vegan and non-vegan ice creams, they also double as a chocolate shop with some adorable Michigan themed goodies on display. Even better, this particular location is nestled inside of the Grand Rapids Downtown Market, so you can pursue to your heart's desire at the many other booths and restaurants in the building. We had a great time strolling through with our frozen novelties. If you're an out of towner like me, it's definitely worth a stop by on your next GR trip.

I got an ice cream flight, which is 5 tiny scoops of different flavors. More ice cream places should do this, it's genius! All of the ice creams were very good, with the caramel cashew being my personal favorite. My companion ordered a yuzu soju ice cream cocktail and it was also a hit. If you're too stuffed from all the other stalls (which is understandable), they have abundant flavors of pints to take home for later. It is expensive, but within reason for good scoop shop ice cream.
This Love's is inside the downtown market. We tried the ice cream flight which was 5 scoops of ice cream for $11. Because we don't eat dairy we tried 5 of the 6 non-dairy flavors: amaretto cherry, lavender blueberry, blood orange mango, coconut fudge, and superhuman (which had lemongrass). All of the flavors were very good, but I really liked the amaretto cherry, superhuman, and coconut fudge. It's great that they have so many non-dairy flavors! People who worked there were really nice. The flight can't be ordered to go. read more
This was simply the best find ever. In the beautiful and super fun downtown market, there are all KINDS of beautiful artisan food type businesses! One of these is Loves and 100% I will be back to enjoy this delicious ice cream that is allergen friendly! I wish we were going home so that I could take a few pints with us. Any hours and family knows what a gem it is to find something somewhat close as a special treat. I had the coconut fudge swirl and the dark chocolate, and it was simply divine! read more

We got served! Hip little ice cream vendor inside the Downtown Market of Grand Rapids. Love's offers a variety of homemade chocolates and ice creams. They offer dairy-free and vegan options as well. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Take advantage of the samples! I'm a coffee fanatic so it was only right that I got the Mad Cap flavor. The ice cream had the right amount of sweetness. It was also soft and velvety - call me a psychopath but I had no problem with biting into the scoop. Haha. It's conveniently located close to the exit, so you can stop by for a quick pick me up after grabbing your groceries/take out. :) read more

My siblings and I were looking for a lil' mid-afternoon treat on a Saturday afternoon recently, and noticed Love's glorious ice cream signs near the entrance of the Downtown Market. With terms like "grass-fed" and "frosé" shining like beacons in the night high above everyone's head, how could one resist?! My brother, sister, and I all found something to snack on: both of my siblings picked dairy treats, while I made a beeline for the alcoholic frosé scoops. It ~is~ finally spring time, after all. My scoops were served in a cute little wine glass, and I was instructed to stay close by because I couldn't take my alcohol outside of the Love's corner. While the three of us sat on stools at the shop's cute little wooden bar, I noticed quite a few fabulous things that made me look forward to coming back: First of all, Love's serves an array of alcoholic ice cream treats. My frosé scoops were delicious, don't get me wrong, but I wish I'd known there were more options to get a little buzz! Oh well, now I know for next time. :) Second, the shop's draft prices are RIDICULOUSLY low. I'm talking, $2.75 for a pint. I've never heard of that low of a price in my entire life! This has gotta be the hottest bar in town... right?! We really enjoyed our experience here and I'm glad we found it while craving some cold snacks on an April afternoon. read more

Love's Ice Cream is a cute shop in the downtown GR market! They have lots of rotating flavors of Ice Cream, vegan gelato and sorbet to choose from. (Both dairy and non-dairy options). I sampled a few before selecting my flavor and tried the soulful ginger, black cherry, choc fudge brownie and the mixed berry crumble. Each of the ice creams had a unique flavor and I ended up deciding on the black cherry in a waffle cone. I really appreciate what they are going for with all the different exotic flavors combos, but I just don't think they've quite nailed the flavors, or the texture of the ice creams. Also, the cone wasn't as fresh tasting is I would have expected. It was a little pricey for the quality in my opinion, but a good option for unique ice cream or for those with dietary restrictions. Also the decor/branding/atmosphere is great! Customer service was also good! read more
This is some of the best ice cream we have had in a long time. We stopped at downtown market as tourists and the wife decided we were getting ice cream. I had the blueberry and she had Mexican hot chocolate. We shared and the two flavors complemented each other perfectly. We didn't have a chance to taste the many vegan flavors, but we've heard they're all delicious. Love's is on our list of must stop places when we are back in Grand Rapids. read more
Holy moly. This place was fantastic. We stopped at the Downtown Market to check it out when in Grand Rapids this past weekend. I wasn't even hungry, after a half sandwich at Founders and some tacos at the Market, but after trying a sample of their vegan ice cream, I was hooked. I'm not vegan by any means but my stomach usually hates dairy, so to find a vegan ice cream that tasted creamy like these did was great. I asked and they said they use coconut milk (vs soy or almond), so perhaps that's why. I had the rosewater pistachio vegan gelato and the blueberry or blackberry one, I believe it was. The ice cream isn't inexpensive (about $4 for two small scoops) but you get what you pay for - it was fantastic. It looks like this is the only location of Love's, which is sad (come to the East side of the state!). Check it out when in the area! read more

This is an awesome boutique kind of ice cream shop. Their ice cream is delicious and home-made. Some of it is Vegan and so so flavorful. My wife and I split the flight and tried 5 different half scoops. The staff was extremely helpful and even convinced us to take some chocolate home! Kudos to the owner for an amazing establishment! This place is the cutest! I went here knowing that they offered vegan/dairy free ice cream, which is very exciting for any ice cream lovers that can't have dairy! And they also had more than just vanilla and chocolate, which is especially hard to find. I'm not keto or low carb, but I appreciate them offering a keto option for those who are. I also love that they use natural ingredients to make all of their ice creams. As for taste, I thought it was delicious! The texture was nice and smooth and creamy, and the flavor was bold. Highly highly recommend stopping in if you're nearby, especially for anyone with dietary restrictions. read more
