This was my first time visiting this shop. I ordered a small amaretto coffee. I took one sip and it tasted only of cinnamon. I asked the barista if there was cinnamon in my coffee and she said, "Yes, we put it in every coffee." Without asking??? What food establishment just willy-nilly "adds" something like cinnamon to every single item they make without notifying their customer? I would have gotten a refund but my friends were ready to leave. I ended up just sitting my full coffee on the counter and walking out. $7 (tip included) just wasted. read more

This store is absolutely adorable and a perfect place to pick up gifts. They have local peanut butter and nuts, homemade chocolate and taffy. There is a large selection and the people who work there are happy to help you find the perfect selection. I'd highly recommend the vanilla bean marshmallows - they are delicious. I ordered the Pecan Carmel Cluster basket rather than flowers or a nightgown for my 92 year old Mom. All these years I got her those and Almond Joy bars, which she didn't like because she couldn't chew the almonds. Yesterday the basket arrived and she was thrilled, and immediately dug into candy. Products are top quality and unique. For example, their peanut butter is delicious and has a wonderful texture and is one of the few peanut butter products that has only two ingredients: peanuts and sea salt. On top of that, they have excellent customer support. When a jar arrived at our house broken, I simply emailed them a photo. Within a day they had already sent us not one but two replacement jars to make it right. We love supporting small businesses and Koeze gets it right. read more

Koeze's is a specialty store known for their nut mixes and chocolates. They have a large variety of high quality nuts and an assortment of gift items and seasonal snacks as well. Upon entering Koeze's an employee always greets you with a smile and a free sample. Always a bonus and the shop clerks are really personable and helpful. I stopped in recently to get some items for sponsor gift baskets. I was given helpful advice about what would be the best options for the baskets without breaking the bank. The baskets turned out so cute with the addition of chocolate pretzels, a tin of mixed nuts and a beautiful chocolate bar. They always offer to wrap gifts up for customers which is a nice touch. I have to recommend two of my personal favorite items here: the milk chocolate pecan clusters and the milk chocolate sea foam. The pecan clusters (turtles) are divine. You can buy them individually or by the box. There's also a beautiful glass case option. I have to exercise all of my self control to resist buying them daily! The sea foam is delicious as well. Crispy, caramely, and sweet. My friend Hillary's favorite! The last time I was in, the shelves seemed a bit empty which was less aesthetically pleasing. Koeze's can be a bit pricy so keep an eye out for sale items. I also have been less than thrilled with the chocolate truffles here. The domed shape candies with different fillings are frankly not worth the price or calories. I recommend sticking with the Koeze brand and avoiding these truffles. read more

Good enough for Zingerman's, good enough for you. I was at Zingerman's and the only peanut butter that they carry is Koeze's. Living in Holland, I figure I'd head to GR to check out Koeze's. Got some of their peanut butter (cheaper than Z"s) and enjoyed a sample of their peanut puddle. It was good! They also had some of the largest cashews that I have ever seen! read more

Our reason for coming in today was solely to purchase a surprise for grandma, but we ALWAYS love coming into this store. We are greeted with a friendly smile everytime, and always offered a sample of something wonderful upon every arrival. I had a toddler with me, and they went behind the counter to find a more toddler - friendly sample for her to enjoy. How sweet! The only bad thing about this store is that it has turned me into a chocolate snob! I cannot handle the cheap - waxy checkout lane candy anymore. I have to have the good stuff! A great sweet shop in the Knapp Corner area. They have a wide array of nuts, confections and their signature peanut butter. The staff is friendly and will usually offer samples of various sweets (that's how I got hooked on the chocolate-covered peanut butter creams.) There are lots of gift ideas here as well. I grew up with Koeze's Nut House close to my house in Wyoming. I now live outside of San Francisco and if I am visiting GRR (which only happens every few years), Koeze's is ALWAYS a stop. I will go well out of my way. I was delighted to see that I can now buy Koeze's peanut butter in my SF grocery store! The peanut butter puddles are unlike no other. And the dark chocolate turtles. It is not cheap, and yet it is some of the BEST chocolate out there. Yay! And the people who work there are so incredibly nice! One of my grade school friends, her mom worked there for 20+ years, and every time I go in there she still remembers me. THIS is hometown at its very best!!! Go Koezes!!!! read more

Fall is caramel apple time and no one has better caramel apples than Koeze's. Their other treats are great, too. But their caramel apples are in class by themselves. Amazing! read more
