I got the large acai bowl and it's cheaper if you pay cash ($18.25). A bit on the pricey side but very delicious! Nice service, super cute menu, I'll definitely be back to try something else

Acai consistency was more watered down. More like a smoothie consistency. I added strawberries, and would think they would be fresh but they were frozen. Great service but wouldn't come back here.

Great spot if you're looking for a smoothie bowl with lots of diverse options! Their bowls all have a healthy spin too with fresh ingredients like ginger, tumeric, bee pollen, etc. My monkey bowl was a bit toooo ginger for my liking haha since i was craving more of a decadent type bowl, however it was still a nice spot to grab for an afternoon snack!

Love love love! Had an acai bowl and been craving one every day since the first time i tried it. I got a classic acai bowl which had granola, peanut butter, banana, honey, chia seeds, and blue berries. So simple yet so delicious - you can tell they make their food with love. So perfect for a hot summer day. Lots of different healthy food options from smoothies, juices, smoothie bowls, salads, and toast. So glad i came across Loved by the Sun! Definitely stop by if you are in Hilo.

I love this place. It is my favorite place to go after a nice long walk in the Japanese Gardens. Whether it's the Heartbeet or the Mermaid Juice with the fresh Acai Bowls, I am never disappointed. The staff is so friendly and kind they greet you with a smile and are always happy to have a conversation. I have to be honest, I haven't tried anything else but the wonderful blend of peanut butter, macadamia nuts, honey, and bee pollen because it is so delicious. I visit the island frequently to stay for long stints of time with family and one of the gals said you are here so much you really should sign up for rewards. There is nothing but Ohana here and it shows. The presentation of the juices and bowls also shows all the love they have for their food and their guests. I look forward to seeing you all in December!

Beware about the loyalty program!!It seems like a scam!Over the last year I've spend over 100$every visit.I was building up points&1 of my previous visits in Jan,I was told I received my 33 points needed to receive$10 off.I was told it never expires.I live over 1.5hrs away.So I don't visit all the time.I came back in Mar,I was told that the$10 was no longer available,the loyalty program went up.The young lady said it was the policy and could not change it.I mentioned to the young lady that I was told it never expires.& if I had earned*10 dollars then I should be able to use it since it never expires.Her response was unkind and a bit nasty,w/dirty looks.Saying it's the owners rule not mine.It was such an incredibly rude tone&look,that I decided to put back my order,I had not finished paying yet.I asked for my receipt and then I took time to tell her why I returned my order.Asked for the owners contact&name,I explained I was contacting owner regarding the 10$credit only not the young girls unfavorable response.I was honest with her directly &I said it with kindness. I thanked her for listening before leaving. She asked what is was she had done&admitted that she was frustrated with my questions.I felt we had a productive conversation&no hard feelings.THEN I read my return receipt&this is what was written to me(posted in the pic section&at the end of post labeled***) I was shocked,never spoke w/the owner.I'm all about love,kindness,&gratitude&it didn't begin in25:)I was just born that way.So to whom ever wrote me on my receipt no worries.SO JUICY HAWAII right around the corner from you is happy to have my business,&a bonus:all the ingredients posted on the bottles as required by the health department!:)I 100%recommend So Juicy Hawaii made in Hawaii by Hawaiians!Organic too.Many Alohas.just remembered when I givted LBTS the most beautiful biggest avos. Loved by the Sun is one of those food establishments that you feel good about eating at. The workers are friendly, and the food is delicious and healthy. There is limited parking on the same street that it's on, unless you park along Kamehameha Avenue. Nonetheless, the parking game is worth it for this food. I called in my order because I was unsure how crowded this place would get. I ordered the beet salad and a super cosmic acai bowl. The beet salad was so yummy! It had a lot of different toppings and crunchy textures. There were beets (of course), feta, Mac nuts, cucumbers, and onions on the salad. I think the Mac nuts added a nice crunch. It also had balsamic dressing, which was perfect. The super cosmic bowl was super yummy too. We ordered a big size to share, and the thing was huge! I didn't know that you are allowed to choose your base, so I went with the regular acai. I think you can choose from one of the smoothie flavors as your base. The cosmic bowl had the most interesting toppings I've ever had on an acai bowl, but the mix of flavors and textures made the bowl perfect. It had cacao nibs, goji berries, peanut butter, hemp seeds, and more. The acai was pretty good, but more on the watery side. It might've been because I waited some time to eat it, and it was previously frozen, since we called in our order. I would definitely recommend this place for a refreshing meal when in Hilo!

This spot is fresh, local, tasty and healthy- can't go wrong. The love bowl is a no-fail lunch. Smoothie bowls are great for sharing breakfast with someone. One of the few quality health food spots in hilo. They are known for their fresh pressed juice selections (liquid juice cleanse pack options available). Also pretty good tasting salads with fresh ingredients. I also have to note that if they have their to-go fridge pad Thai made with kelp noodles GET IT I was so surprised how flavorful and full it made me 100% impressed and satisfied. Wow! If you love fresh juices you want to visit this place. The young lady that owns the business spends her day making concoctions of juices designed to minister to the different health needs one might have. She combines things like carrots, beets, celery in imaginative and thoughtful ways for patrons to ingest healthy and delicious drinks. So good were the drinks that I thought they would make great mixers - just add some rum or vodka and you will have yourself a designer cocktail in a jar. Brilliant. Sofie grilled the proprietor about the virtues of the different drinks. My eyes glazed over from the intense and detailed discussion of the benefits of the different drinks she prepares. I just enjoyed looking at the beautiful natural colors of the drinks in the chill case. If you want to know about the drinks, the creator is overflowing with information on her drinks and most willing to explain them to you. Loved by the Sun is the northwest passage to 5 quarts of vegetables into a 1 pint jar. See it, taste it and believe it. read more

Amazingly cute little gem! The juices are fresh and use local ingredients. Sarah the owner is great and very friendly! My friend had a sprouted bagel with cream cheese, sprouts and olives and devoured it in minutes! I had the blast juice and feel amazingly energized by it! It's like an explosion in your mouth! Nice spot with parking... Although you may miss the spot entirely. You park, walk in, and it kinda looks like an office space until you make a B-line 4 steps straight away. Then, you get to the good stuff. Tried one of the juices, Watermelon / Lemon and it was delicious. Will be back to try the other juices. read more

The juice is delicious. I prefer this shop over any others here on the island that is making cold press juices. The owner is very loyal to our local farmers and organic produce. It's all healthy stuff and it speaks for itself, if your into health and your body you can tell why this company stands out above the rest. No extra added sugar or eye candy for sales. Honest and hard working family run business. Walk in and talk to Sarah, she's the friendliest and is a wealth of knowledge eager to help everyone! I found this place last year and have been in love since. The owner Sarah is a doll and so passionate about cold pressed juice and cleanses. They have the best combinations of juices and flavors. The portions are huge and they are quite generous with their bottle returns and loyalty rewards. The nut milks are one of my favorites. Popped in here to grab a drink and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. I tried the lilikoi coconut smoothie with OJ base. Not only was the drink well-blended and cold for a hot day, the juice was incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. I'll be back! read more

This is about their service and not about their products. 3 of us went into the store knowing exactly what we wanted - we saw what they offered online and were also very thirsty and hot from walking around town. We went in and there were 2 customers who had finished purchasing what they wanted at the counter. The lady behind the bar saw us but went on to have a conversation with the 2 customers about the weather, what to do in Hilo, and the products they had. We waited for about 3-5 minutes without being services. We left without buying anything. read more

We stayed in an apt above so I decided to give the place a try. I usually don't juice nor do I buy it often so fresh pressed was a bit of a new experience for me. I thought they were well made and delicious. The place is in a weird location but don't let that stop you from trying it out. read more

We came upon this Juicery in March of 2019. What an amazing find. We tried the Lemon/turmeric/ cayenne juice; the cashew/ turmeric/honey milk/ and the almond/cacao milk. They were all very delicious. We also tried the nut balls, sunshine chips and we had Love Bowls. Everything was amazing--- WOW! And the person who helped us was so warm and lovely. We had just popped over from Kona for the day. The next time we make a Hawaiian trip I will work a cleanse into the vacation and take advantage such a great lineup of juices. We highly recommend! read more

the best cold pressed juices in the island! my favorites, ENDURANCE (watermelon lemon beet and cucumber) SUMMER LOVE( pineapple, lilikoi and chia seeds) DETOX (cucumber celery parsley kale cilantro and lime)not only they are tasty but also super healthy for your body, i have done a cleanse detox for 7 days drinking only loved by the sun juices and wow i feel great!! i even quit smoking right after and i think the cleanse helped me not to crave cigarettes, like my body was clean and didn't want any bad stuff. Service is great, and its a local family that owns it! what better that? If u have a chance to stop by DO IT! read more

We stopped in here on a sleepy Tuesday morning. Ash, behind the counter, greeted us warmly and shared a nice conversation with us while our smoothies were prepared in back. The smoothies were excellent (I can't remember the specific names). We aren't a huge fan of the sustainable straws, but overall it was a nice experience. We will definitely be back, for both the deliciousness and the kindness. read more

So thankful that Hilo has a new place to get such amazingly delicious, healthy juices. Learning that the owner is conscious of where she is purchasing her produce helps me feel at ease when buying these beverages as well. Loved by the Sun has filled the gap in Hilo as far as producing great, healthy supplemental drinks that not only taste great but make you feel alive and well. I have tried all of the juice combinations, and my favorite one so far is The Cure. I highly recommend visiting Hilo's original juice bar. So grateful for my weekly visits :) read more

Cold brew coffee with fresh made macadamia nut milk and cacao? Yes, please. We were fortunate to stay close and visit almost daily (only because they're closed Sunday's); Sarah is amazing and her juice blends will change your life. Loved by the Sun was created to support local and organic agriculture of Hawaii! We strive to utilize as many local ingredients as we possibly can and are always developing new relationships with farmers. From the amazing produce we press the most nutrient dense juices on the planet, blend up some of the most delicious smoothie concoctions you’ve ever tasted and make epic salads & bowls along with a handful of avocado toast options. Most items are vegan and vegetarian or can be modified to accommodate if necessary. Our food is outstanding, but what we are most known for is our awesome customer service! As a disclaimer, I'm not the biggest fan of shaved ice because of how sweet the dessert tends to be, and because more often than not, there are a bunch of artificial colors used in the fruit juices. When we looked at the menu, I was impressed and excited to see the emphasis on quality of their ingredients: no artificial flavors or colors, no aspartame, no high fructose corn syrup, and no preservatives. I was sold. Although we were tempted to create our own shaved ice, we ultimately went with "The Local", a soursop and liliko'i combo topped with haupia cream. Between the two flavors, I enjoyed the sour sop side a bit more since it was the one that was less sweet. The cream on top was absolutely delicious, and reminded me of the light and airy frothed milk cream you find on many boba drinks these days. There's a generous amount ladled on top, ensuring you can have some in every bite without having to carefully ration out the cream. Overall, I'm a fan of Kula Shave Ice. Definitely a great dessert to enjoy on a hot day. Worth checking out if you're ever in Hilo.

There are public restrooms next door and there is free parking nearby about one block south off on Ponahawai St and Punahoa St. You can also look for street parking. I would definitely return.

When a store is the only game in town for goods near a tourist entry point, one would expect/accept…read morehigh prices. Instead, Keaukaha General Store (within easy walking distance of the Port of Hilo) provided a great selection of sundries, some souvenirs of Hilo, and a small menu of Hawaiian favorite dishes at prices that were the lowest I've seen in Hawaii. My wife and I came here twice: first while walking into town, when we picked up souvenirs and an unexpected loco moco plate. It was a lot less crowded then, with us being the only ones there...allowing us to have a completely different experience. When we came back as we headed back towards the ship, other cruisers from the ship had discovered this place, and were stocking up on various things. It's a large modern space inside, with things organized displayed very neatly. There was no sense I needed to check for expiration dates. There was a portable ATM machine right by the door. A decent selection of alcohol at good prices were displayed (e.g. $8.81 for a bottle of Barefoot Cab or $18.99 for a 12 pack of Budweiser). I took the opportunity to get something I've not seen elsewhere: a bag of dried clams (aka Asari) for $4.19. Ended up finishing it that night...was really good. It has an all day menu, and was able to order a Loco Moco for breakfast. The all beef patty was very thick and dense, definitely from a frozen patty...good for Salisbury steak or Loco Moco, but wouldn't be great for a burger. The brown gravy was served hot and hadn't congealed, and the 1 egg had been cooked over easy, just as requested. It was obviously freshly made. It was packed to-go, with condiments and utensils available near the registers. There wasn't much space to eat inside, but because it wasn't too busy, found a space to sit in the back. I scarfed it down (probably too fast) while my wife finished her shopping. Also in the back, there are gourmet coffee machines and a chest freeze full of hand scoopable ice cream. There is a Pepsi self serve soda machine, along with various sizes of chips. My wife initially bought a couple of t-shirts as requested souvenirs for our travel mates ($25 a piece), and bought another one as we were heading back. On the 1st trip, she also liked a perfume body mist...the tester was the last one so the attendant sold it for half price ($14). For us, she bought a Hilo waterproof sticker for $2.75. And her favorite part of the store was the small portable Pokémon card machine, that dispensed random Japanese Pokémon cards for a quarter. She kept changing out dollars for quarters and ended up getting $5.75 of them...and a couple of them were hollos that we like. They do charge a 3.25% credit card fee, so cash is preferred when possible.
