This was the first time I had visited the Love Cycle Studio in their new location. I had been to several classes at the old location and was impressed with the new location at the Grove. I was there for a collab class with Social workout club. They had fun Valentine's Day decor in the space. They have a lot of space with the front check-in area with a good selection of their merchandise on display. Then there is an area with tables and chairs and a counter for sitting and relaxing before class and then a locker room area with benches where you can store your items during the class. The studio was clean and had bikes in good working condition. I was assigned a bike and the staff made sure that I knew how to adjust the bike and clip in before class. The instructor Dom Hernandez was very energetic and lead an effective and fun cycle workout. He was very encouraging and positive with a lot of motivational encouragement. The cycle class was 45-minute rhythmic ride that incorporates the entire body. The class had great music and consisted of coordinated movements on the bike such as tapbacks, push ups, crunches, intervals and an arm workout with weights. I found myself at the beginning of the summer without a home cycling studio and Love ticked all the boxes for me. Located at the Grove it's centrally located near MoPac and 45th street. I can't really think of any studios north of here in the city and for me it's just 5-15m down the road depending on traffic so it's super convenient. They offer classes starting at 6 through the morning and classes later in the day after the workday during the week. Weekend classes are in the morning. The classes and the instructors are top notch. With some highly rated fitness instructors in the city. Since I usually go later in the day after work, I mostly take Dom's classes. He's an excellent instructor and he always delivers a high energy class with banging music. On Saturday's, I opt for Bryan's class where there's a video wall playing music videos. This is not some rinky dink projector you get on Amazon - really high quality/resolution and he picks the best videos to spin to. As for class format - it's fast paced so you'll get your cardio in. The routines match the music so you are never bored. I also like they have some more advanced moves if you're a more experienced rider but nothing unsafe and it's all optional. The bikes are also really supportive for the style of spin class and they really help with keeping good form. There's also at least 1-3 arms songs as well for those looking for some weight training in the mix and you can swap out heavier weights if you want more resistance. Classes runaround 45m includes time to stretch and cooldown. Plus there's plenty of room to get ready. Ample locker space and some cafe style seating to hang out after class. Free bananas and drip coffee. There are also changing rooms with showers. It also feels like a spa and I like how they went more with a spa look than the dark look at most studios. It's also well staffed - there's almost always someone at the check in counter and attendants to help you set up your bike. Parking is validated. As for cost, definitely a boutique fitness but they run great specials on membership and class packs. They are also on class pass and on the higher tiers of wellhub. read more

Love Cycling is 10/10! The experience I had in my BOUNCE class with Allee left me feeling inspired and motivated. I think I've found my cycling home! The class was upbeat and fun -- a lot of the songs focused on self love and that experience. Love Cycling is located in The Grove, basically right off of Mopac and is surrounded by other health studios, cafes, restaurants, and parks. They have a space outside the studio for you to sit and enjoy a banana or drip coffee while you wait. They currently have a special for first time visitors and I decided to try it out. The absolute BEST spin studio I've ever been to. The atmosphere inside is so friendly, fun & engaging. From the moment you walk in the front door the staff greets you with a smile and is helpful with any and all questions, even anticipating our needs. All the instructors are excellent and so encouraging of all experience levels. A friend who recently moved to the area invited me while I was in town. It's similar to our home studio where we are used to rhythm riding. The instructor was informative and jumped right in. The playlist was eclectic and we got a bit of everything at 7am on a Friday. I felt at home and because I was used to the style, wasn't uncomfortable. I could see how it may be intimidating to a first timer but the staff was extremely friendly so I would say, just try it if you've never done this type of cycling. It a fun style and makes the time go by fast. The studio was super clean and if I lived in the area, I could see myself making this my home studio. My friend has lost a shitton of weight and posted her 6 years with Love Cycling Studio on her Instagram and I was all "It's time." I signed up for a 7:30 class with David Garza on a bike next to hers and wasn't exactly sure what I was ready for, but I was ready. This place is beautifully bougie. I don't own a stitch of Lululemon and I'm not even sure I wore matching socks, but I probably should have. The people who go to this class are beautiful and I felt like I was on a prank show being among them. This place is classy with a capitol C ... and probably an accent over one is the letters, though I'm not sure which one. Don't let my insecurities fool you. Everyone was super nice and it's the kind of concierge service I would expect if I had one or two more zeros at the end of my annual income. I was handed rental shoes that didn't reek of sadness, the restrooms have value-sized bottle of Poop- Pouri and artful Tampon-en-vase in each stall. There's mouthwash and lotions and I almost missed the start of class because I was so enamored with the bathroom. I would've paid the $24 class feel just to luxuriate in there -- it's nicer than my bathroom at home! A young lady walked me to my bike and showed me how to clip in with my rented bike shoes. There was a cute hand-written note to welcome me as a first-timer and plushy white towel that I probably would have stolen had I not remembered I surrendered all of my identifiable information when I signed up. Plus, I didn't want to embarrass my friend. Though the room was club-dark and lit with candles, I could tell that there are regulars. They chatted and fist-bumped and adjusted their sports bras just so. It was a haven sculpted midsections and blowouts, but I give the gals (and 4 men) credit for SWEATING through it all for 45-minutes. Then David walked in. Commanding presence with muscles and thick flowing hair and energy, David. I love David. He heckled the regulars while making the newbies feel included. He knew people by name and how to push with love and an appropriate amount of teasing. Like the big brother you want attention from and not from at the same time. And his music. Music. Was. Awesome. I was dancing and swaying my hips and singing aloud so hard, I forgot I hate exercise. While I silently cursed David's ancestors through the arm portion, class flew by. What's not to love about LOVE?!? This studio is amazing! I initially found it using ClassPass and it's been nothing short of amazing. I love Megan's classes, she's super upbeat and always inspires you to do your best. She also usually has themed DJ rides which I love. They do charge $2 if you don't have your own cycling shoes which is totally reasonable. They also have secure locker spaces for your belongings during your ride. Besides the upbeat and badass rides the best thing is the chilled eucalyptus towels at the end of the ride ... GAME CHANGER!! The instructors are supportive and will push you while still being positive. It takes a while to get used to the pulses and tap backs, but it's worth it. Attended two cycling classes here while I was in Austin for work. The studio was a really easy one to drop in to with helpful front desk staff, an easy layout, and simple lockers. They are on classpass or you can pay the single drop in rate which is comparable to most drop in cycling class fees. The classes themselves were also really fun, although a little more heavy on the choreography and high RPM songs. If you like soulcycle you will love these classes, but if you prefer performance/heavier gear classes they might be a little fast. read more

If I could give them 20 stars I would !! As of today they are by far the absolute best cycle studio in Texas. They have the best damn instructors and the staff is freaking amazing !! I went to Austin for 6 weeks on unexpected not so pleasant circumstances. I was spending half my time in my hotel unhappy, still recovering from a broken leg . I am so grateful that I limped my ass into this studio it was my first class in 6 months. Their studio should be a training facility on how to run a kick ass cycle studio . The front desk greets everyone with an wonderful smile every single time you walk in. It's not just a smile it's the sincerity of everyone that works there. They make you feel so welcomed. They greet you with a cool wash cloth after the class and a smile. I am not sure where they found these instructors but I would love to pack them all up and bring them to my little city. The studio was so easy to coordinate with - they were very responsive, and even comp'ed the shoes for our group. The studio was beautiful, and stocked with free bananas and coffee. This April I had two goals. 1) Find a way to deal with crippling anxiety that wasn't vodka and 2) Get that summertime a$$, y'all! My girl friend introduced me to Love and I've been bouty bout ever since! As someone that rides their bike a ton IRL, the irony of paying to ride a bike that goes nowhere is not lost on me. I absolutely think it's worth the cheddar though and sometimes it's literally the highlight of my day! I've done spin before and always dug it but this is the first time in my life I've done it on the reg. If you haven't been before, imagine a large, dark studio space with candles, colorful dance club lighting (yay LEDs!) and a shit ton of stationary bikes. There's mirrors but it's dark so you just look like a hot silhouette of yourself for the most part. It also smells really good which is awesome. Then for about 45 minutes you dance on a damn bike and sweat your balls off. I go about two or three times a week and my favorites instructors are Megan and Bryan! Bryan has some boss taste in music and I absolutely adore the music video classes. It's rad y'all! Due to reality shows taking over MTV, music videos are a lost art form IMO. It's pretty bitchin' to see them projected large in the already awesome spin class environment. Bryan also seems to be pretty forgiving when we all lose the beat because our lady boners for the gigantic projection of Drake get in the way. It's impossible to not adore Megan's class! She's got that kind of overwhelmingly positive presence that makes you find yourself smiling up at her like a total fangirl. Sorry Megan, totes not a stalker! Also instead of stretching at the end can we just do a french braiding tutorial? I need the learn that shit from you! Like other spin companies, there is a bit of encouraging mantras and inspiring sayings throughout the class. Normally these would be vom worthy to me but it totally works here and isn't overdone. Never at any point have I felt like I'm in a dumb IG fitspo post or being indoctrinated into a cult which is refreshing! The other peeps in class seem rad. There is a good portion of hot 20 somethings in full Lululemon but there's plenty of peeps my age and older rocking some nasty ass Old Navy threads from 2008 as well. Gum, coffee, hair ties and earplugs are provided. After 10 years of being an event photographer, I'm pretty protective of my hearing so I do wear them. I recently splashed out on some high fidelity earplugs and it's been a game changer. Pro tip from ya girl! As a final note...the staff is also wonderful! I LOVE LOVE! It's hard for me to put into words how amazing this studio is. To even say it's just a spin studio isn't doing it justice. Love is so much more than that. When I first moved to Austin, I didn't know that many people and was looking for an exercise class. I found Love through Yelp and started going regularly. After only a few times, Morgan knew my name. She would always be the first person I saw when I came in and the last person to say good bye to me when I left. I felt seen in such a huge city and started to feel like I belonged. When I enter the spin room, I'm immediately greeted by Marcus. He always has a huge smile on his face no matter what. Even when he's running around making sure everyone is set up or setting people up in the complete dark. Right before we start, he gives everyone a high five. I can tell he loves being there and that contagious energy always pumps me up for class. When I'm in Megan's class I feel like the world around me stops. The only thing I focus on is myself and the bike. Megan taught me that. Her positive, fun energy lights up the room and she creates a space where you can be whoever you want to be. I've laughed, I've cried, and I've left all my anxiety, fears and stress on the bike. Every day I walk into that room, I'm so grateful that I have crossed paths with her.
