The worst condescending customer service. My Wife brought her car in for muffler service, because it was loud and getting louder. A flex pipe was replaced and two aluminum mufflers costing over $800.. After the " repair", it was louder than when it was brought in! The " mechanic " claimed it was loud because she didn't buy the steel mufflers. After many other opinions- this company turns out is a scam. They used to be reputable. Now- very rude and VERY condescending- like I said. I am in the process of passing along this information on Social media to warn others about shady dealings . Absolutely no quality and no value. Any other corner mechanic would be a better choice. Don't waste your time and hard earned money coz they are thieves. read more

My 2006 Honda CRV had rusted out pipe by catalytic converter, missing heat shield, and apring bolts. They took me as a walk-in. The price for the parts and labor was phenomenal!! I was in and out within the hour. Highly, highly recommend!!!! read more

Had a great experience. I just showed up. The owner told me they were under staffed today and it would be a while for him to take a look at my Explore. With in an hour of leaving it he call me and told me the problem and what the costs would be. 2 hours from start to finish. Brought my car today due to the loud noise from my exhaust. Took me right away and brought me under the car to see where the leaks were. Gave me the option to fix one spot or the two. The second spot wasn't as urgent. But given the option to have them both done. I decided to have both done do so I don't have to worry about it. The mechanic was so fast and detailed in what he was doing. I watched him work and was so impressed! It took less than an hour and my car is running so quiet now! I highly recommend this business! Been here twice already. Both times for an exhaust repair on two different vehicles. Extremely happy with the repairs and cost. I wasn't overcharged and I wasn't given the upsell treatment. I found out they do inspections and repairs. I'm going to start bringing my cars here for repairs now because I'm impressed with the value and service. worst place to go to don't ever go to Lou's custom exhaust. They will screw up your entire exhaust system to the point where you cannot find parts to replace the exhaust yourself because they screwed up. When they welded my exhaust, which was less than a year ago, they put a new muffler on and it's already got a hole right at the bead where the welders, so now I have to replace the muffler all over again but I'm doing it myself because these guys suck so bad they won't even bother with you and they don't even bother helping you out. They would rather screw you over then fix what they screwed up. read more

After reading everyone's reviews, this place is a complete joke. Took advantage of the fact that I was a women and alone and they charged me $300 for an exhaust repair that lasted only 30 min. Everyone else's reviews on here are proof that they took advantage of me. On top of that I drive an '09 Infiniti, and it turns out I need a new wheel bearing. The guy at Lou's quoted my repair and said it would cost $1000. I figured, if I pay this I'm an idiot. I called up the INFINITI dealership and they quoted the repair at $400. Lou's Custom Exhaust is a complete robbery and took advantage of me and basically stole my money because I had no knowledge of how much an exhaust repair would cost. The owners, the mechanics are all a bunch of thieves and I do not recommend going to this place. read more

STAY AWAY. Cut out my catalytic converters and never replaced them... which is ILLEGAL. I went in last year to get 2 flex pipes done and nothing else. Just brought my car into another Lou's because they had rusted out and the guys in this shop (they're all franchised) tell me I have no catalytic converters! Walked me in to show me... Sure enough they're GONE and replaced with straight exhaust pipe. How does an EXHAUST specialty shop put an illegal exhaust system on a car? "Probably just got lazy and didn't put them back on" this guy says. $600 later and I'll repair the damage this place did to my car. read more

Took my volvo a couple weeks ago due to the check engine light being on. He said and swore that it was the catalytic converter and that it needed to be replaced in order for the light to go off... $500. Got my car back the next day and the light was still on and the issue was not resolved. Took the car again for them to see what warranty was present for their work. WITHOUT their authorization they replaced other parts on my car and charged me $700 for the car thermostat which was perfectly fine. $1,200.00 later and my car was still not working. I took the car to a third party to have them look over what was "fixed" and none of it was necessary. Do not trust these guys with your car or your business. i DO NOT recommend them in any capacity. Think twice before taking your car there or else. read more

The guys that run the show here are kind of unprofessional but they know what they are doing ! It doesn't seem legit with the way they handle customers compared to other places but I'd recommend repairing your exhaust here ! They are good with welding and do nice work ! My exhaust piping literally rotted before it got to the muffler part so my truck was loud as hell driving without a muffler basically!! A brake place tried to scam me thinking I didnt know what I needed! Right up the road at a brake place they said it's gonna be about $400 to repair the exhaust and they were offering off topic services I thought that was bullshit so I brought my truck to lous as a walk in they did the work exactly how I wanted it and they charged me $80 . I usually deal with the Kingston NH location and they are 5 stars all the time.. They were busy and I had an immediate need so I drove out to Manchester for a leaking flex pipe. Staff was not there at 8:00am when they were supposed to open.. They opened around 8:05 and had my car in on the lift by 8:10. They charged me $360 to replace both front flex pipe sections. My car was completed and back outside by 8:50am.. While I appreciate the quick turn around time, I felt the charge was pretty high for 40 minutes of work.. Even a very high quality flex section is $60 at most.. So I paid $240 labor for 40 minutes on the lift?? They told me its a flat fee of $180 per side. (I've paid $100 per side in the past at Kingston) So.. Quickly done, but not a good value. I'll make sure to use Kingston next time. read more

I came into the shop today to replace a muffler that failed inspection. First of all, there was no one to greet me besides a little girl with a puppy. After waiting, a mechanic came out who could not even give me his full attention. He was more concerned about the children running around and joking about the puppy POOPING in the garage with another mechanic. The mechanic would not look at the paperwork about why the vehicle failed inspection. He also asked me for my keys three times, which I was trying to hand him but he wouldn't look at me. Finally, he took me under the car to show me the underside. While he's showing me, one of the girls came under the car with us, and again the mechanic stopped talking to me and directed all his attention to the girl. While I'm UNDER the car with him. He tells me I need more work than I know I need done, because of the paperwork I had that he would not give me the time of day to look at. After all of this, he gave me a price 3x more than the competition for additional work I didn't need. I wish I could give a 0 star review for the waste of time I went through today. read more

Just went in to Lou's Custom Exhaust and legit had the best service. As a female I often hate dealing with car related things, but felt comfortable and at ease here. They took my car in right away after I was late for my appt. They looked at it and fixed the issue right away at hardly any cost. I am extremely happy with their level of service and the way they fixed my car. I highly recommend them and would trust them with my car any day. I also noticed every customer in there was happy and satisfied with their service and the pricing. The exhaust pipe between the muffler and catalytic converter broke off yesterday and after finding Lou's on google, I figured I'd give them a try. I called and after explaining what happened, they told me to bring it in and get a free estimate. I was so worried they would tell me it was going to cost about $1000, but they told me it was nowhere near that and they could fix it right then and there. As I sat waiting, the receptionist was very friendly and we spent time talking and laughing. The work on my car took about an hour or less and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. I went in there with an exhaust that I had tied up so I know what was underneath the car. when I first went in he charged me $100 over what he promised me it would be said it would be 500 at worst case for a true dual exhaust tried to charge me 6 never put the flex pipes back on that were on the car when I drop it off told me it would cost extra to have them put on and then exhausted self rattled like crazy the car wasn't ready when they said terrible customer service read more

I was lookin to get my brakes replaced and the guy who has been there for 40ish years helped me out. Great service! The people here are wonderful! The prices are really fair and they never do anything without your knowledge and consent first. They are always willing to explain everything thoroughly to you before they start working on your car and they even go as far as to show you what needs to be repaired, so you aren't feeling like you're being ripped off. I went back to lous to have a oxygen sensor put in the sensor they installed was defective I talked to the manager and explained to him that my check engine light had come on again after I left he told me to bring it in and they checked it saw that it was a defective sensor and ordered a new one and put it in for me without any hassles now that's what I call customer service at its best good people here I highly recommend them read more
