One of my worst all time experiences with any car place. Completely rip me off and do not stand by their work. Had an ac system they just re did with a full warranty. Had less than 500 miles on it and they wouldn't honor transfer of ownership when compressor failed. Paid to replace and then ac still didn't work when went to use it for first time in summer. Spoke to other professional ac places- said they never should have replaced a compressor again so quickly without testing for other issues. They now said there is an issue with a fan and the unit cannot be fixed . These guys are happy to take your money, reccomend unnecessary work and not stand by anything. We have brought our car in to auto care plus a few times and things have always been great. Today service was exceptionally good. We dropped our car off for the day on a last-minute appointment for an issue of brake caliper freezing up. The brake caliper was replaced there a year ago, and without any hassle, they replaced the rear brake caliper and the rear brake pads and rotors under warranty no charge. Took my car in for oil change, tire rotation and front brakes. I have VIP card which mire that pays for itself with the items on the card. Did the advance appointment on the brakes with 10% off. I have been going there for more than three years since I returned from CA. Front desk guys are great. I won't say I haven't had issues with certain things but a phone call back to them always gets things straightened out. I am sure that I could get things maybe done cheaper some place else, but to me not worth it. They know my car and I know them. I appreciate that they give me a loaner car even for the day because now I do not live in Manchester. Do not go here! I dropped my car off before they opened to get a specific item checked out. I called them at 1PM to see what they had found and I was informed the car had not been reviewed yet. At that time I told the employee Rick that I wanted to skip the complimentary inspection they offer and just get the item I came there for checked out. After another 2 hours I showed up at the shop and asked if the car had been reviewed. I was told they just completed the complimentary inspection and now will look at what I came there for. Rick was working the desk and I asked him if he told everyone I did not want the complimentary inspection, he said he did but Barry told him they need to do it. After waiting another 20 minutes Barry came out to say car is done but he needed to type up some pricing for items they found during the inspection I declined to have. Barry proceeded to take a phone call while "finishing my pricing" and I waited another 20 minutes to leave. Don't waste your time here. read more

Started off as 5 star if you only get oil changes. Did front brakes on one of our cars with brake flush. 5 months later at next oil change they recommended a brake flush. Im like guys you just did it 5 months ago. The response was oh yeah we forgot to make a note of it. Took truck in for popping sound in front end wanted to charge 150 just to inspect it. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY My husband bought a car from his friend at work. A few weeks later the exhaust falls off while he's driving. The friend tells him that's OK, he had literally just had it replaced at auto care plus and there is a 50,000 mile or five year warranty on it. We call them and they tell us "too bad, the warranty is not transferable" 50k mile warranty on this piece of junk exhaust, but it hasn't even been 20k miles and they won't warranty their job. Also, before we knew the exhaust had just been replaced at this business we took the car to Subaru and they told us that the OEM exhaust had been replaced with JUNK parts and he was charged $1200 for it. read more

This was once a good shop, but something has changed. It was once a shop that you can trust in taking care of your vehicle and not take advantage of you. But it's now one that will hunt for the most insignificant issue and set up the discovery to be a major issue with required $$$ repairs. Brought in my vehicle for inspection (and other work never completed), and received a call saying "Congratulations.. Your car passes inspection ...but... we discovered over $1400 in additional repairs we'd like to do." And this was all done without full exam of the vehicle. Really?? Example - very simple item - low tire pressure which sets off the Tire Pressure Indicator. The fix would be - put air in the tire. Their way of now correcting the issue is to have you spend lots of $$$ to run a "TPMS System Diagnostics computer" related repair to diagnose any fault codes. As I said... Beware. The only "trust" you can be sure of is how they can empty your wallet. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID, went in for a state inspection and it failed for wiper blades, a upper brake light, license plate light and my emergency brake wasn't working correctly. They quoted me $2500 witch I said absolutely not. Went to pickup my Highlander and had to pay $208.99 for a failed inspection, diagnostic on the emergency brake and a bogus environmental fee. One thing I do not enjoy about living in New England is state inspection. It's only my second time experiencing it, but it's been super frustrating ever since & this time was no exception. Let me tell you what happened today: I woke up today prepared to pick up my car after getting the last bit of work done. I'm thinking everything's fine, & that my car's smooth sailing again Little did I know I'd be taking MORE time out of my morning to bring it back because a HUGE & dangerous error was overlooked. I spent $750+ on suspension work to pass state inspection ($1300+ total) at Auto Care Plus (Manchester, NH). After we picked up my car Scott tells us about this new noise or issue with the car & I'm just like (WHAT?). They tried to make it seem like my partner did a crap job replacing the brakes & rotors when he in fact did a much better job than they! We leave & as I'm driving on the highway, my left rear tire begins to literally WOBBLE & then this incessant singing noise starts coming from the brakes, all of which was not happening before I dropped my car off for the last bit of work. I bring my car back & we discover that the mechanic on duty failed to make sure my wheel was on properly & didn't realize I had screws missing from my rotor! Like what!!?! I love that they gave my car back to me KNOWING that this issue was going on AFTER they had worked on my car. I'm not sure if they wanted to make more money off of me or completely destroy my axle (or potentially cause an accident), but I still don't understand how this all happened & why I paid that much money to get a job half-done. Although my car is finally fixed, I will NOT be bringing my car back to Auto Care Plus for ANYTHING else, ever. Failed to put the oil cap back on after an oil change. Two quarts of oil spilled out all over the engine compartment. I was lucky that it did not catch on fire, as the engine was smoking and smelling like burnt oil. I cleaned up as much oil as I could, put a quart of oil in and went back. On top of that my 2 year old driveway is now ruined. Long story short they screwed up something as simple as an oil change. It cost me time and money. When someone called to follow up they apologized and offered a free oil change and advise on how I could buy products and clean my own driveway. I came in for an oil change and inspection. Very good shop with quality work. It passed but I knew the tire tread was close. They mentioned it to me and provided a quote for replacement tires which was competitive with the tire stores. They also said that tire rotation will be free when coming in for oil changes. I brought my car there for Inspection. They said I failed Inspection because I needed brakes. Not entirely surprised by this. It would cost me $2,021. I could not afford this. Feeling I had no other choice I scheduled an appointment to have the brake job. After I left the shop I decided to get a second opinion and was told my brakes did not need to be replaced and my car would pass Inspection. I paid additional Inspection fee and got my sticker. This year I did need the brake job to pass Inspection. It cost me around $900. Now that's a big difference. It's just not right. I think back on all the money I gave them over the years and have to wonder how much of it was not necessary. Shameful. Beware mature females, Auto Care Plus will hose you. read more

I just submitted a claim with the Better Business Bureau for this place. I sent my car to Auto Care Plus for a state inspection. They called and tried to upsell me $1400 for my car which passed inspection perfectly fine. I asked when they would start working on my brakes and Chris told me that it would be tomorrow. Afterward, I found out that they were charging $900 and other places would charge $500-$600. I called to cancel my service and Chris told me that they would have to still charge me $450 because they already took my brakes apart and supposedly scrapped my front brakes. They had already told me that they would be doing this tomorrow in an earlier call (which is recorded). Due to this, I am forced to have to get my front brakes done with them still for nearly $500. read more

I no longer have any service done here. I was a regular customer for years but had enough on my last visit. Went in for an engine skip on my 11 year old small pickup with 200,000 miles. I had already read the engine light code and it stated cylinder #1 misfire. I only use this truck for short trips & dump runs. Asked them to just fix the skip which I had a suspicion was a spark issue. They came back after having it for more than a day with a $1,600.00 diagnosis. New intake & valve cover gaskets, new plugs, wires, coil and a few more items needed then and for the upcoming inspection. I told them that was more then the truck was worth and would just take it home. They charged me $90.00 for their diagnosis. At home I checked the system myself and found the coil to be bad as I suspected. Bought a new one for $82.00 at advance, installed it and the truck has been running fine ever since. This was more than 18 months ago. I have since had the truck inspections done elsewhere and it has passed without issue. I can't remember this happening at Auto Care Plus since they took the business over from Trites Auto. It's too bad, they have a good location and it was convenient to have my vehicles serviced there. read more

But over the life of the vehicle, they will save you money because they do it right the first time, use quality parts, and have knowledgeable techs. Never had any problems with these guys. It's easy to schedule an appointment and they are very straight about what your car needs or doesn't need. My family owned a shop in MA so I would get inspections and oils changes here, but do major repairs at the family shop. When Auto Care recommended me services to schedule for the car, I of course checked with our shop and the advice always matched. I'll be moving back to NH soon and have no reservations about having Auto Care handle all of my cars maintenance and repairs. Been coming here for a few years now. They've always been honest and accommodating to any needs my car has had. Great customer service, friendly and knowledgeable staff. They're always willing to try to remedy anything that may be wrong with your car, but in some instances it requires ordering something they don't keep on site. In that regard, some of their services are slightly more expensive than a place that specifies in certain things. (Tires for instance - they can replace them but it is a bit more costly than going to a designated tire shop) Other than that understandable gripe, everything here is great! read more

Worse company I have ever dealt with. When you hear about sleazy mechanics they are the epitome. Was quoted $1,300 to fix a radiator on 2000 S10. When I said that was absurd, magically priced drop ( still $300 more then next expensive person). Was told "this will get you back on the road" or I wouldn't have agreed. Next day Im told I need a new engine (engine has 75k miles). When i told them that was ridiculous, "We never guaranteed it would fix the issue" what a bunch scumbags. BBB has an open case. Each visit was always painless and pleasant, with someone advising me on only what needed to be done, not what they wanted to sell. Recently my wife's Venza was rattling. Auto Care Plus quickly diagnosed it as a loose heat shield, ordered a replacement one when it was determined the current one was unrepairable and installed it in less that 15 minutes. If you have work done with Auto Care Plus you have to review their work. They charged for a state inspection and failed my vehicle for over $2,000 in repairs. Once they repaired the vehicle, they "forgot" to put the inspection sticker on the vehicle, as they forgot to tell me that it failed the emissions testing as well. After being stopped by the police, we brought the car back for them to make it right. Because it had been several months, the mechanics stated that it needed another $800.00 in work. I pitched a fit, and the manager called me and stated, "we don't need to do everything stated, some is warrantied on work we already did, other items can be tourqued... we want to make it right, for just $300.00. I asked them to give my car back. The owner reached out to me and when I questioned the safety of the difference in work and prices, he stated "every technician has their own assessment of what is slight, acceptable, safe, etc.". I find that a $500 difference is a big deal, appearently John Manelas doesn't. read more

I just moved here 6 weeks ago. I'd been here about a week when on one of the crazy cold days, I came home from work and my car wouldn't turn off. I called the first garage that showed up on Google in a panic at 4 pm. They were amazing. Lent me a car, identified the problem and fixed it up plus cleaned the inside of the car and fixed the broken volume button on my stereo. They called very few days with an update until the repair was complete. It wasn't a cheap fix but right in line with the estimate.
