Sake jello balls

This place is INCREDIBLE. If you are adventurous with your cocktails and looking for a relaxed bar with an immaculate vibe, Lounge Bohemia is the place to go. The ambiance feels like an underground 1970's basement that's very intimate and cozy. All the bartenders are so friendly, making jokes and really playing to the theme of each drink you order. I highly recommend getting one of the tasting menu flights (I did the West to East). All of the drinks are so creative and curated on theme. This is definitely and EXPERIENCE you do not want to pass up.

Lounge Bohemia is a subterranean, mid-century modern cocktail den in Shoreditch slinging high-concept drinks and, er, experiences. A-la-carte drinks are likely to be served in a pipe-like vessel or involve overflowing foam; the tasting menu presentation is even more creative. Despite the sighs about pretension this may inspire, my boyfriend and I found this to be one of the highlights of our August trip to London. Bohemia refers to the now-Czech Republic, not hippies, which the menu-holding books and vaguely Soviet vibes will attest to. I desperately wanted to ask where they got all of the gorgeous wooden furniture-- reproduction or restored, it's all very classy and low-key. Bookings must be made in advance via text, and I had no problem getting a weeknight spot less than a week in advance. When we arrived around 10 on a Monday, it was fairly full, though we ended up having the place to ourselves by the end. I went for their most popular tasting menu, based on a morning routine. My boyfriend opted for the trip into the woods, which he was warned had "no liquids per se" but did contain alcohol. She recommended we upsize one or both of ours for an additional fee, as they're really not built for sharing, and we should have taken her advice, as some of these are really just a sip or a nibble. Highlights of mine included the lychee bathtub starter, complete with hidden rubber duck; the Le Labo perfume-scented drink; the rum-and-mint toothpaste. The only one I didn't enjoy was the final "lightbulb moment" cocktail, a kind of homemade Red Bull, which I was fairly warned to save a sip of the previous drink, a lovely riff on Vietnamese coffee, to wash down. My boyfriend's experience was a bit more mixed. When he was presented with the first course, a fig eau de vie in a light-up mushroom vaporizer, we had a hard time containing our laughter. Being invited to lick a honey-whiskey sap off of a ceramic tree trunk didn't help matters. But overall, there was a lot of creativity put into it and there were some very tasty bites and foams along the way into the woods. Alcohol content is fair on the classic tasting menu, maybe about two drinks worth; there's almost negligible alcohol in the second. We spent about an hour and a half here. This could all easily veer into cheesy territory (and it's still a love it or hate it kind of place), but I found myself charmed by the experience, especially thanks to the storytelling from our waitress, who had the perfect balance of humor and professionalism. If you're a molecular gastronomy fan, have some cash to blow, and are tolerant of theatrics, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by Lounge Bohemia.

Lounge Bohemia was such a fun and unique experience. You'll definitely drop some change here, but it will be very memorable. We were able to snag a reservation for 3 just two days before for a Friday night around 9:30pm. They do a great job making the space feel cozy without feeling cramped. We got to sit on a comfy couch off the main area of the bar. Good luck deciding what to order. Their main list of cocktails (£8.50) has a lot of neat variety and combinations. The Ginger Gypsy was refreshing and did not skimp on the vodka. The malt chocolate drink was truly delicious - the most chocolate-y cocktail I've ever had (next to spiked hot chocolate, of course!). A table near us were getting lots of the awesome-looking molecular cocktails. We got envious and also ordered the Oaxaca drink, which included mezcal and mint served in a pipe (£14) . It was delicious and awesome! It was definitely a splurge but really fun and smoked. We felt like scientists. Free popcorn and self-serve water. Nice, chill crowd. The people working here were also nice and not pretentious, which was also a welcomed surprised for a posh spot like this.

You're friends will be envious, you'll be blown away. Nothing is what it seems. Hipster joint with the below ground, speakeasy feel. Cramped arches, a table and some sofa spill out like the 70s with Dating Game swing sounds filling the darkened bar royal. Thanks to EricaU for the invite to this "by appointment only" venue. It was a memorable experience. Russian Breakfast- stoli elit and dry chocolate served with dark chocolate and bermard caviar. Wow. I was amazed at the beauty of this drink. You must taste to believe. So good, I had two. Others enjoyed crazy drinks like the English tea served in a kettle. No bags here. This is booze buddy. Sat next to a routy bunch of lads and asked to me moved. We were quickly accommodated to a table of out own. Nice move by a fantastic staff. I actually don't want to give too much information away as words will not do it justice. Experience is the key to Lounge Bohemia. Don't forget to try and find the bathrooms. I'll give you a hint, there're two.

Lounge Bohemia has some super cool comfy cave areas which are perfect for lounging on after work. The cocktails are always beautifully presented with some really cool concepts although every single cocktail I've had there has been much too strong for my liking. They also have a no suits policy which threw my friend a bit so if you're in a full suit they'll make you casual it up a bit.

Funnily enough, found out about it when I tried to book Happiness Forgets. They were full but in their email, gave a list of other bars in the area including Lounge Bohemia. Was able to book a table for 6 at 9pm on a Saturday on Friday afternoon so that was pretty good. Atmosphere: Cool typical nondescript speakeasy entrance. It's just an open door between a corner shop and a kebab shop. Inside. the place has a really nice loungey feel to it. Lots of sofas and other comfy egg shaped chairs. Drinks: My issues with it are that the drinks gave me the impression of the sort which are cooler conceptually than they are taste wise. We tried - Sgt. Pepper: this was really nice. Elderflowery and peppery. - Ice Tea for two: not sure exactly what's in it, but it was really pleasant. Served in a steaming tea pot and with tea cups, it was just a really nice alcoholic ice tea. - Iced coffee: Average. Had a really watered down taste to it for some reason. Not really worth it. - Porcini Martini: Really great for one sip. Tastes like an alcoholic mushroom soup but it's really weird having such a savoury drink, and just not that enjoyable beyond the coolness of trying it. That being said it is a fun drink to tell people you had. Overall: Pretty cool spot, Chilled out vibe. Hit-and-miss drinks imo but worth checking out for sure.

Lounge Bohemia is my favorite cocktail bar in Shoreditch! Like a good speakeasy, it is well hidden from the public eye. Before my first time there, I passed by it a dozen time and never once thought it wasn't a part of the kebab shop. You would go down some narrow stairs to reach the basement lounge. The ambience of the lounge is quite chill and the decor is very retro. There are a few "cave areas" that provide more privacy and open couch areas in the middle. The cocktails here are out of control. Every cocktail has a cool name, comes with a small bite of food that compliments the drink and is put in super creative glasses. Some cocktails are prepared right in front of you, like the full Canadian Breakfast. The Whisky was pour out from a maple leaf shaped bottle into a glass filled with frozen blue berry! Some come to the table with so much style, like the tree sap. A bite of prosciutto came on a piece of tree bark covered in dry ice fog. I am fascinated when a new drink comes to the table. It has become my go to place for a night out with friends. And I have successfully turned a handful of my friends into fans as well. Make sure you call ahead to book a table, because they DO NOT like walk ins. They are nice enough to accommodate, but you don't get the cave tables!

Lounge Bohemia is my favourite bar. I always take visitor's as a treat and go mid week. If a place asks you to book first, then book, regardless of how empty it is when you get there. Also, their no suits policy makes sense if they are trying to create a certain relaxed atmosphere. There is no sign as they don't encourage walk in's and want it to feel like its a great secret you keep amongst your friends. I've never found it to be pretentious, it is what you make it. The staff are lovely and attentive and know everything about what's on the menu. My friend, visiting for one night only from NZ has the best martini 'of my life'. He's a great cocktail maker. I love the cocktails too, the jasmine green tea vodka is amazing, the absinthe drip is fun with friends - the lavender creme brulee cocktail is AMAZING. but feels almost like pudding. I haven't eaten here but I don't think I would. Its all about the truly great cocktails. I love the 20th century furniture and the low key jazz music. You are brought a little tray of 3 canapes and a caraffe of chilled water. The menu's are in quirky vintage Czech books - this place is fun and you can relax. Of course there are going to be pretentious people in there, its Shoreditch, let them be, they'll grow out of it. And also they don't make a venue - they just attend them for a bit, get bored then move on. This place is great - a little corner of calm amongst all the try hard places in east london - I love it.

We came here after dinner, and had an amazing time. It was funny because we had just been scoffed at by the bouncer at Duck and Waffle for looking too casual and not abiding by their open for interpretation dress code. Feeling insecure about our attire, we called Lounge Bohemia to see if they had a similar dress code, and they told us that our clothes would be fine as long as we weren't wearing suits! They WANT you to keep it casual haha. I got the morning routine sampler, which was a bargain for 30 something pounds. The drinks were ingenious. I think the bubble bath cocktail was my favorite. Who doesn't want to eat alcoholic bubbles out of a small bathtub and sip with bathwater from a straw?! The two women running the show (and it is an actual show where each drink comes with a story and instructions ) must be chemists or something because I'm pretty sure there was some form of liquid nitrogen in my light bulb electricity cocktail. The light bulb was painfully cold to touch on the bottom lol, so don't do that! The toothpaste was a really cool idea, but I didn't really enjoy the texture and use of peas. It reminded me of chewed up food. The sampler included a few other fun drinks. I deducted a point because I felt that their creativity was on point, but they seemed be more concerned with novelty than with the actual taste of the drinks. If you're looking for a simple strong and tasty drink, this might not be your first choice. However, if you're in the mood for extremely entertaining and exhilarating, average tasting drinks that will completely mess with your senses, definitely come check out Lounge Bohemia!

In 9 out of 10 interactions, the staff were genuinely excellent--warm, attentive, and clearly trained in the fine art of making guests feel like royalty (as you'd expect at this price point). There are multiple restaurants and bars to choose from, a steady stream of live music drifting through the late afternoons into the evenings, and quite possibly the best cleaning and turn-down service I've ever encountered--truly next-level pillow fluffing. Now, my one gripe: the light--or lack thereof. Despite having three decently sized windows, they're covered in a mysterious film that blocks natural light more effectively than blackout curtains ever could. It gives the rooms (and oddly, the lobby too) a slightly subterranean vibe--perfect if you're a vampire, less ideal if you're someone who enjoys knowing whether it's day or night.

We had a party of 13 so I understand there would be somewhat of a wait and that the whole Dining experience might take a while. We dined on a Tuesday night and the place was quite busy! It took at least 30 minutes from sitting down to get our drinks and another 10 on top of that for them to bring out some bottles of water. It seemed like our server was training someone new. They could have been more efficient, but it took a long time for them both to go around the table and enter in our orders. We were at a work after hours function so we all ordered from the 3 courses for 45 quid option. All of the starters sounded good, but I was slightly disappointed in the drunken dumplings as there were only 2, but the presentation was cool with them pouring the broth into the bowl at the table. I wish I had ordered the cheddar and shrimp toasties as they looked quite good! This place has awesome & fun cocktails, hence the Alchemist name. I didn't realize this at first so ordered a Mai Tai which was not nearly as exciting as some of what my colleagues ordered. Second time around I ordered the red zombie which came out smoking with a test tube vial of absinthe to add in! Definitely cool, but also a bit strong. I had the ribeye steak for my main. It was delicious! The cauliflower and potatoes very good too. Had the next level chocolate brownie for dessert. My only thought is it could have used a bigger scoop of ice cream compared to the size of the brownie but it was delicious! So good, in fact, that I had to finish every last crumb. The ambiance was nice. The bathroom was clean, but a little hard to locate. All in all, I would definitely come back if in the area again.

Upon walking in, you are greeted and in awe of the beautiful sitting area with its amazing stained glass dome. I found myself in awe each time I walked through. The rooms are also exceptional. Very tastefully decorated and not over the top, as some other higher-end hotels seem to be, lately. I also found that the cleaning service and turn-down service were magical. I don't know how they seemed to know when I had left my room, but upon my return it was always clean, and at night the turn-down service was a lovely surprise to find a small mint and a linen mist on my pillow. Now let's talk about something which is an often-overlooked feature of a hotel stay: the breakfast. This is typically a throwaway perk that anyone who travels a bit understands. At best, it's a spread of cereals and maybe a bagel or two. Most of the time it's served in a crappy lobby with coffee that has been sitting there for hours and servers who want to be anywhere else but there.  It usually screams, "Eat fast.  Please leave." Not here. Oh no. Even the breakfast is next level here. Sure, it contained all the normal things you would expect, such as bagels, toast, and cereal, but then they took it to the next level with some beautiful doughnuts, sliced meats and some cheese, yogurt with all the toppings you could want, and a beautiful selection of sliced fruit. However, what really made the breakfast experience phenomenal were the people. Specifically, Amesh, Epon, and Mohin. Each morning when I would walk through the doors, I would be greeted, and they would immediately take a coffee or tea order to go make it themselves. They were also incredibly friendly and attentive. I found their smiles infectious and a great way to start the day. This type of attitude was prevalent amongst all the staff.  They were simply the friendliest people of my day, and that really meant a lot when you are thousands of miles from home, in a city you don't know, by yourself.  Thank you!

Upon booking our room using the Marriott Bonvoy app, there was no indication that we had to pay an extra £105.25 on top of our point redemption; not on the app, not on the email confirmation. Upon checkout, we were told we didn't owe anything. When we were emailed our folio with the charge, we called the hotel and they said they would email us. No email came. We will have to find a resolution for this. If we had known there would be an additional charge above the points redemption, we would have just stayed at our other hotel room. The place had some nice architectural details, but everything else inside needed to be replaced. They looked old and dated. Also, I posted this review on Google maps. Looks like they deleted it. Update: We spoke with Marriott Titanium customer service. The hotel eventually credited us a week later, claiming it was a mistake to charge us. The funny thing is we lost almost $2 USD because of the change in the exchange rate.
