    Library lounge

The Threadneedle is an absolutely beautiful hotel in a historic building that does not appear to have been designed to be a hotel. The library lounge has a beautiful dome and it was a nice place to visit with clients and the rest of my traveling team. But the hotel has challenges such as the building support beam in the shower that narrows the width to just over two feet. You have to step out of the shower if you drop something or want to turnaround. The rooms have an outlet / socket shortage which forced me to sit on the floor to dry my hair. I couldn't charge my devices overnight by the bed which assured I woke up because I had to walk across the room to get to my charging phone. I was part way thru when I asked if there was a desk outlet which they had to show because it was hidden behind a wooden wall panel which I would not have expected to be removable. The rooms are small but beautiful and comfortable including the desk chair (a rare treat these days) and bed so I was able to get a good nights sleep. The bar and restaurant have limited but good food choices but anyone with allergies should avoid eating there because the staff is inexperienced and I had to remove the food elements I told them I was allergic to. People with Crohns disease should not eat here. They should also end each food choice with surprise because the same food varied greatly each time it was served but it was always good. I had problems with charges to my room which should not have been there but most were removed. The hotel offers zero benefits to elite members and I was charged the same as other guests including breakfast which should have been included in my room rate. Make sure to get a copy of your hotel folio because they did not mail it when I checked out. There are great hotel choices at far lower costs. This was my only choice due to short notice. My entire team moved to other hotels over a range of issues. I recommend you stay away from this hotel because beauty can turn out to be Pandora's box.

Wow! Just Wow! When you first walk in, I was blown away by the decor and the beautiful lobby. The front desk staff was so kind and our room was fantastic! The bathroom was huge as well as the closet, the bed and the room was enormous! I loved staying here. They had a great bar for drinks, we didn't get to partake in the tea time but it looks lovely. It was a great location just off busy streets so you had quiet when you wanted it. The underground wasn't far to walk too and great area to walk around. We will totally be back when staying in London! It is in the financial area of London, so things do close early and were closed for holidays so just keep that in mind when booking.

    The dome in the foyer

The problem with some five hotels is that you go in expecting the Ritz and you actually get a four star with extra toiletries. This was very much the case at Threadneedles. We got a good deal for a Friday night in the city and were impressed on arrival - the foyer area and the dome are amazing. The check in was quick, polite and easy. Then we entered the room and saw the bathroom... Or rather the bathroom door. I do not understand why some hotels have a glass wall or door between the bathroom and sleeping area. It means that if one half of a couple uses the bathroom in the night them the bedroom is illuminated. In the case of this hotel, it was a glass door. But it gets worse: you see, the door was designed not to close. That's right, it was on a runner which had a stop some five inches from the wall A preventing the door from hitting the wall but also meaning that there is at least a gap big enough to shove your hand through at all times. It's a massive design flaw because now a couple is forced to listen in complete clarity to their other halves going to the toilet. That pretty much destroyed the ambience of the hotel for me.

Great hotel experience! We walked and were greeted by a complimentary offer of champagne or wine. My wife and I opted for the wine. It was very good. Check in process was very smooth and the staff was amazing! The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable.

Best Hotel I ever experienced. So pretty over the top service. I been to many hotels for travel and fun with friends but this hotel is far out the best hotel service and so pretty. It's a little outside of London central but very quite and impeccable hotel. Best hotel service I ever had here. 1st off they give you endless water bottles here. Which is not common for London. Water bottles cost 3-5 GPB in London. The front desk ladies gave me champagne anytime I ask them for free. The beds are so big and comfy unlike many other hotel in London that are small and rock hard. This hotel is expensive but thank god I got a great deal with it through Marriot Rewards. The bath rooms are so pretty have a huge bath tub and shower very elegant. Huge closets like 3-4 huge cabinets and very modern. Full stock bar in your room but I avoided that. I order an awesome steak from room service delicious and yummy fruit and a tiramisu. I had to go to Munich, Germany after London and hotel front desk let me do a late check out until 3pm for free and it was so helpful for me to get ready and finish packing my huge luggages. I hope I return back here for another awesome experience here. Hope to be back in a year or so. Thank you Threadneedless Autograph Collection Hotel employees And thank you Gabriela for begin extremely helpful in places to go and how to take the train to the airport.

That's the bathroom door, completely shut...

A friend suggested The Laundry for a catch-up Sunday roast...and as I'm always willing to try new…read moreplaces, I thought it seemed like a decent place(despite my apprehension about only 2 menu items...lamb or veggie). We arrived, and immediately our drink orders were taken...although it did take quite awhile to get the drinks. However, my £9 Bloody Mary was pretty tasty...spicy and strong. As there were only 2 options for food...ordering decisions were made pretty quickly. One thing I found a bit odd though, was if you decide when you order your meal that you want dessert too...it's a £1 cheaper. I'm not really a fan of having to decide if I want dessert before I've even touched my meal. When the food came out, it was very pretty...however it seemed like a pretty small portion for £16. Luckily, I'm a meat eater, so I got a nice hunk of very tender lamb, but my friend who is a veggie, had to make do with a couple mushrooms(although she said they were very good). I also had one, lone brussel sprout on my plate...although that was better than a friend who had 1/2 a brussel sprout. It almost seemed like the food was there to look pretty, rather than to eat....either that or a tasting menu. Regardless, all of the food was really nice...delicious flavors...and to be fair, I wasn't hungry when I finished. A few people in my party got dessert. What looked like a slop of chocolate mess, with green ice cream...ended up being really nice. A chocolate mousse of sorts, with green tea ice cream and bits of pineapple. It looked a bit odd...but tasted good. All-in-all, I would recommend The Laundry. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was good, and the food tasty. Just be prepared to spend a bit more than you might want...and if you are a vegetarian, maybe eat a snack before you go. Or if you are super picky about food, call beforehand to see what's on the menu, since there are only 2 options. I certainly won't eat here on a regular basis, but a great place for a special occasion.

Went here for their New Years Eve party…read more The ticket price was pretty high for what the venue provided. DJ was okay altho musics were a bit of a snore 90's leftovers - and even then, some of the most generic 90's musics around. I expected more from London. The droves of kids on drugs were just fine with the playlists. They need 2-3 more bars for the venue size. They couldn't really well serve the 1000+ patrons. They also need for bathrooms to support an event of this size. All in all I was happy to be out of London City Centre for New Years - and hey it could have been worse! My main letdown was the music. Free foto booth was a +. At some point people had vomited in the ball pit and they didn't shut it down :/ Seems someone popped the bounce house halfway thru the night. I realize the venue and the promoter using the space for the new years party are separate - this is my experience for NYE only.

A-OK. I don't like places that advertise one cover charge…read morebut then change the rules whenever they want. I think is disrespectful. It's not about the amount, of course I can pay 3 extra pounds, it's just inappropriate to raise the price just because you felt like it. I also don't appreciate separating groups that are in the queue together, or for that matter, leaving people in the cold just to make the place look crowded, cooler, funner. We were in a group of four, they let two friends in and left me and my other friend behind for 45 minutes. We're texting back and forward the two people that were inside and they said the exact words: "I don't know why you are still waiting. They could fit 30 people and a jacuzzi down here". So yeah, thanks for that. So far you would say it was a terrible experience right? Well yes, but the music saved it all. The DJ was great, the drinks were affordable, the toilets were clean and the location is very convenient. If you want to grab something to eat before dancing, just go upstairs to Pizza East and have a nice slice (order one for me too). Beware: this places closes at 2 am, and if I were you I would pick my coat from the wardrobe 10 or 15 minutes before they start to turn on the lights.

We were ever so early because besides the bar staff, there were only two other people down there. No matter, we were able to make our own fun. The cocktails here are amazing. After the bar staff dissuaded our friend from ordering Jagerbombs, they persuaded her to order a round of Concrete Flips (Espresso, Amaretto, Kahlua, Egg and Sugar). Yum, yum, yum! Because we never learnt our lesson about mixing spirits, we ordered a delicious round of white peach Bellinis. I highly recommend. By the time we left, the place was rammed and it looked like people were settling in for a heavy night of drinking and dancing. I'm definitely going back!
