I was pleasantly surprised by Restoration Hardware on the second floor and we were told it must be pretty new bc it wasn't there before. I enjoyed walking around and window shopping. There is a lot of money in this mall and some of the stores were very pretentious (Louis Vuitton, here's looking at you!), but it's a fun browse and if you are looking for one of these stores in particular, you're in luck bc they're all housed here under one huge shopping mall. Rarer and rarer these days... Mall was well-kept and clean. The bathrooms needed some TLC but, it was mostly a clean and spacious mall.

It's fantastic, isn't it? Lots of stores to choose from and there's even a restauarant. High quality merchandise sold for a decent price here, make sure you tip well because service here is awesome. Employers are calm, and non-hostile and don't mind at all when you ask them anything. Sometimes you do have to be patient when it comes to clothing stores, so that's my tip. What an epic shopping center! Luxurious, fine and fun! I totally recommend hopping here for a shop or a bite. Come with friends, that's another tip!

I could see how this could be a mad house with tons of crowds during peak times but it was nice and easy when we were here on a Saturday morning.

There is a heavy police presence that frequently drives around.

I was hoping to find a few new appliances for home, but couldn't really find what I was looking for. But we did see a lot of toy options for our little one, and possible outdoor pieces for the summer. Check out was easy, but because it was an overstock store, no returns. There were a lot of good deals throughout the store, so definitely stop by if you're considering some new furnishings.

Every time I'm here, it reminds me why this stretch has such a loyal following, because it's one of those places where you can land with no plan at all and still end up having a great time by just letting the street carry you along. The storefronts flip from quirky to arty and classic that keeps the walk interesting. Mini golf and bowling, too! Two unique things that make the Loop uniquely the Loop are the Planet Walk and the Saint Louis Walk of Fame. The Planet Walk is a scale model of the Solar System that stretches a half mile or so along Delmar mapping out the distances between the planets. And alongside this, the Walk of Fame runs along with stars honoring famous Saint Louisians (Saint Louisans?) set into the sidewalk. It's fun to spot names you know and names that are new to you. Chuck Berry. Maya Angelou. Tennessee Williams. Nelly. The Loop is named for the Loop Trolley. It launched in 2018, hit some operational and funding issues, and ended service in 2023. I'm bummed that I missed the opportunity to ride it. Maybe it returns one day? But even without the Trolley, the Loop is one long ribbon of activity. Used furniture quality is all over the place. Hearing can be difficult in this warehouse-like building, especially with fans running. An employee possibly told us to get away from a certain area or possibly asked us what we needed. We asked but couldn't hear her reply. Then she asked us what we needed (for sure asked this) and when we told her, she seemed... displeased. I don't know. Maybe she was just having an off day. Not a big deal. Maybe one day I'll have a home and get to buy something here. Who knows?

Mark Twain Village has occupied this space off Fifth Street for more than a half century. However,…read moreit's transformed considerably from a smallish indoor/outdoor mall into a several scattered shopping areas. Aldi anchors one section, Duluth Trading Co. another. Bass Pro stands by itself and stand-alone businesses are spread along the edges. The parking lot is nightmarish. One bottleneck occurs at busy Aldi directly inside the Fifth Street entrance. Columns hide pedestrians until they step into the traffic lane, making for sudden stops by unaware drivers. The other bottleneck is at Bass Pro due to shoppers crossing the driving lane. A better entrance is the Fairgrounds Road entry, or from Boone's Lick Drive. Mark Twain Village has a lot of variety.
