I've been going here for 12 years. Ever since covid it's been awful and never recovered. Most times there are no carts. The produce quality has become the worst of any store we go to. The garlic is always spongy and disgusting. The employees are miserable which tells me the Schnucks family doesn't care at all about them. It's also more expensive than most other stores that are nicer with better produce. It feels like a profit grab. There is genuinely no reason to go here. We need more Trader Joe's in St. Louis. This is the closest grocery store to us, but we avoid it as much as humanly possible. Please do yourself a favor and avoid all Schnucks. read more

Debbie is a super star! She and Carlson relentlessly persevered and were able to get my prescription for seizure medication filled against what seemed to be "all odds ". I had all but accepted the possibility I was more than likely looking at an ER visit over a holiday weekend without my prescription. Debbie saved me from at the very least, much anxiety and insomnia. For me, this strip mall is for convenience, not so much for...opulence, if you will. It's right next to I-55 and in one of my favorite neighborhoods. The area has a lot of young families and professionals, and with a shopping center close to a major interstate, it could use some sprucing up. The featured stores are as followed: Office Max (soon to close) Stl Bread Co. Lowes Schnucks Crown Vision Firestone Autozone T-Mobile Great Southern Bank Starbucks A nail shop... and a few fast food joints. As I do find this plaza great for location, the stores and its ambiance is only ordinary. It doesn't really have a dog in the fight of competition. Part of its name rings true..."COMMON". It can be so much better. Recommendations: Trader Joe's Whole Foods Target Walgreens/CVS Home Goods or Bed, Bath & Beyond Also, the entrance/exit desperately needs some tlc. Loughborough Commons is a conveniently located strip mall that sits on Loughborough right off of Highway 55 in the Boulevard Heights neighborhood of south St. Louis City (10 minutes south of Downtown St. Louis). They don't have any clothing or department stores, but they offer most amenities that a a person would like to have access to. Pros: Not surrounded by other strip malls so traffic is manageable. It has all of the basics Right off the highway Lots of food! Cons: No gas station (everyone in the neighborhood wants one here) No Trader Joe's (Come on people, take a chance on the city!!) I know there's plenty of people who aren't fans of this shopping center; that it's "too suburban" to be in the city. But since I live close by, and I'm all for convenience and suburbiness... I like it. There's a Schnuck's (not as good as the Dierberg's on Watson, where I prefer to shop, but a good, solid grocery store and i'm there quite often); Lowes (not a homeowner, but handy for lightbulbs, plants and such); Office Max (don't frequent it); St. Louis Bread co (a staple of my diet); a Burger King (never been there, probably never will... plus, the drivethrough line is ALWAYS ALWAYS busy. weird.); a Starbucks (yay); nail salon (not bad; I should review them, come to think of it); cell phone store (not Verizon, so I dont remember who); Little Caesars, Chinese food place; Qdoba, an inexpensive hair salon (usually busy). The only thing missing is a drug store. I really, really wish there were a CVS or Walgreens there instead of Office Max. The one on Grand is pretty sketch, and the other closest drugstores are on Gravois-- not far, but not exactly close. oh, well, can't have 'em all. read more

Shear convenience for me as a southside resident is what gets a thumbs up. There are very few stores here I have not been a customer of, in fact, maybe only one; as a guy I don't need a nail salon. But let's take a look at the rest: Schnucks - big enough to have most of what I need, good-not-great beer and wine selection , deli, butcher, fresh fruits and vegetables and a drive through pharmacy window. Lowe's - not just closer to me than Home Depot, but also definitely better. Bigger, well organized and with a staff who can actually help you. But for small quick trips I'll still use the local guys, Liberty Hardware. Office Max - I don't go often but when I do, well staffed and stocked. Breadco - This makes it for me. I love this spot for a quick cup to go after running in Carondelet, or for meeting clients. Starbucks - For when I need extra caffeine. There's even a drive through window, though not well marked. Qdoba's, China King, Little Caesars - I've eaten at all of them and while none are my favorites, they are quick, easy and deliver what they promise. Tmobile - as a subscriber I'm glad they are there when I need them for hardware and billing issues with knowledgeable staff. Great Clips - easy in, easy out, inexpensive cut if that's what you are looking for. And I am. Yes, as noted in a previous review the concrete was broken but has now been fixed. And, in my opinion this is would not be a good location for a Walgreens/CVA [I mean, aren't there too many already?] or a gas station. All around, Loughborough Commons is a solid addition to the neighborhood. The only real issue I have is that the traffic flow is terrible. On busy weekends it's difficult to get into. And the upper shopping area is even worse if you need to turn left onto the exit. Through traffic in the parking lot creates some problems and does not seem well thought out. But the bottom line is that it has made my life easier and for that it gets 4 stars. read more

They definitely could use a secondary entrance/exit...it tends to get congested and can take quite awhile to make a left turn out of the parking lot where Starbucks is, or even when you're coming from the grocery store area - sometimes the traffic is so backed up that it'll take 3 lights just for me to get to make my left turn. Nice, clean grocery store, but I'll try to limit my trips to early morning or late night. read more

I work downtown and live in near South County. Love the convenience of this shopping center. It's close to the highway (Hwy 55) and can make a quick stop to shop at the Schnucks. I've been to the Lowe's, Schnucks and Starbucks in this center. Both are average stores for their chains. Very happy about the Starbucks. Was disappointed to see another bank go up. A gas station would have been nice. This would have been a "Yay! I'm a fan" review but their concrete needs some serious work. The exit onto Loughborough has major cracking. Cars drift over into the entrance lanes to bypass them. I notice that they have a security vehicle in the parking lot. read more
