Back door entrance to candy land

After reading a review from Steven B, I knew I had to stop in to get some candy. Not like you ever NEED candy, but sometimes you just WANT something special. Not sure how Monday-Friday works, but on Saturdays, you need to drive around back to enter the warehouse from the back door. Huge parking lot, not scary at all. The man working in the warehouse was very nice and willing to show us where specific candy was located. I was on the hunt for some candy cigarettes (because I am super cool like that). After a quick walk around the place (and down memory lane) we checked out with a carton of "smokes" and some sour straws. Prices here are less than Sam's and Costco. They have all sorts of concession candy, fundraising candy, mints, gum, individually packed chips/cookies, candy toys... I think this is definitely a place to go before Halloween candy shopping or if you just crave sugar like me. The man working was so happy we came and was shocked that we even knew about the place. They really are one of the best kept secrets in St. Louis. Located between Kingshighway and Morgan Ford in South St. Louis.

The nachos were fun, over-the-top, and perfect for sharing -- equal parts playful and indulgent. The dirty soda was the ultimate nostalgic treat with a creative twist that made it feel brand new. I had 3 scoops of ice cream, opted to have it without any cones though but it was delicious. My husband has a chocolate shake which he loved. Aside from ice cream, affogato, coffees, floats, dirty sodas, vegan ice cream, and other delectable desserts, Sylvie Dee's also have a variety of nostalgic candies and treats! Now that it is almost summer, I am looking forward to coming back here often! They have a dog friendly patio! The inside is somewhat small but they do have some tables to sit at and enjoy your treat. Staff was friendly and quick even though she was by herself. I cannot wait to come back.

I hate to leave a bad review, but it was the weirdest interaction.. or lack there of, I guess??…read more The website and the hours on the door say it closes at 10pm. I got there around 8:45pm. As I was walking to the door, I see a man cleaning the tables. He walks toward the door as I'm walking up to it. We're literally standing face to face with the door in between us. I smile, he is stone faced. I go to open the door as he walks away. The door is locked. I try a few more times, thinking maybe it's me. I look around at the hours again, but next to it is a "we're open" sign. I try maybe 3-4 times more before I give up. I walk to the window and he's sitting at a table toward the back, looking at me. We just look at each other, then he looks at his computer. I turn toward my car, then turn back around and he's still looking at me! I sat in my car, confused. He never looked back up from his computer, so I left. Highly disappointed.

They made a fresh pot of coffee and even went the extra mile to go get ice as we came in later in the evening and they had run out. I did tell them they didn't need to, but he insisted which I thought was outstanding. This quaint little café is so charming inside. It allows people to gather eat a sweet treat and have general conversation conversations where you can actually hear one another. They do have outside seating too. The chocolate cake was soft and as a non-cake lover I found this very delicious. Definitely worthy of sharing. I ordered a quiche to go. I had mentioned they didn't have the spinach feta pastry that I had before. The gentleman stated we have some in the back, I'm happy to get you one. So I ordered that too. And although this was only our second time coming, the fact that they'll make a fresh pot of coffee in my opinion is key to a great café. I will keep this in my rotation of places to go.

HURRY! YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO GET YOUR VALENTINE'S DAY CHOCOLATE!…read more And Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company is the place to do it! Walking into this St. Louis Hills business you are hit with a waft of sugar. Your inner child comes alive and it's hard to not just be in a good mood. Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company serves up the richest creations in every shape possible. There's pops. Bars. Letters. Animals. It's incredible to think that if you can imagine it, they probably sell a chocolate in that shape. Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company also offers smaller handcrafted, flavored chocolates for you to pick from. Fruity creations and salty creations to select from. The customer service is top notch too! When I recently visited the store manager helped me find exactly what I needed. She was so sweet. Pun intended!!

I saw 11:30 as my tour time, so yes that was my err. When I arrived at 11:15 for my 11:30 tour the girl who greeted me was friendly and polite, but supervisor was NOT. When I questioned if there was any chance they could fit my party of 3 into next tour, he rudely replied all tours were booked full for day. I stated I had traveled over an hour and was met with another rude reply, we are booked full for the full day. Will I reschedule, no. I was offered a hat and a free piece of candy. Not their fault I did not read the email accurately, but don't offer tours on the website when it's not available. The Chocolate Cafe next door was another disappointment. Terrible watery hot chocolate and hard stale Chocolat du pan croissants.
