There are never enough checkers no matter what time of day. I understand not being able to get decent help but any help would be an improvement. And the checkers that are manning the open lanes are basically turtles or inept at their job. Go to Aldi sometime and watch those checkers work their magic scanning items. The folks here always look like they hate their jobs or their lives or both and are happy to share it with you. Many tags on shelves are in the wrong place or missing and the ambience is in the theme of funeral parlor. The self checkout lanes are plentiful, but you can only have 10 items or less, which is rarely the case for me and the people manning the register section are Nazis about that rule. Tell me, would you rather let me squeeze through with five extra items or lose the entire sale and have to put all the items back? If you look at competitor stores, you'll see that they don't have those limits anymore so Schnucks is behind the times. Better yet, get rid of half the normal checkout lanes since they aren't being used anyway and replace them with self check. I only have myself to blame because I chose to come here when I know better. I will never cheat on my wonderful Aldi ever again.
