While certainly not exhaustive, I've spent some time looking at dog parks around the country…read more(Virginia, South Carolina, California).
I challenge you to find a better dog park than the Vint Hill Dog Park!
The owner is extremely attentive and caring of this dog park, visiting the park nearly every day of the year (certainly with exceptions).
She picks up things that others are expected to pick up (yes, you know what I mean!), cleans & straightens as needed, conducts repairs, spreads the wood chips with wheelbarrow & pitchfork, and she even weed eats & mows the grass.
I'm certain that there are many other tasks that I don't see or don't understand are required to maintain a dog park.
Nonetheless, I am extremely thankful and grateful that she is on the frontline doing good deeds for any and all dogs and dog owners.
As you can see, there are internet trolls that like to say negative, nasty, or vile things and post inaccurate and completely ignorant comments online (because it is easy & requires no effort!) because they got their feelings hurt or they got their pride nicked. I'm sorry delicate flower...
Look at our society, there are too many people that have NO RESPECT for any authority whatsoever, so when you approach them to take corrective action, they get offended and outraged that you've called them out.
Yes, there are RULES to any community endeavor. It's not about the rules being enforced... why are you not obeying the rules that are clearly and visibly posted at all park entrances?
Are you so special that the rules do not apply to you?
Is it too much to ask you to not park in front of the gate and block others? Does that have to be a rule? But we all know that common sense... isn't!
I've seen grown men and women fall to the ground after dogs hit them as they ran past. If they can take out a 150-300 pound adult, what do you think they can do to a 40-120 pound child? Who is responsible when that happens?!?
I've seen children get upset at a dog for taking a ball, frisbee, or some other toy they had. All the toys in the dog park belong to the dogs!! They are not for you to bury and keep away from the dogs. Why are you getting upset with a dog for taking their toy from you? Oh yes, that's right because you are a child that doesn't understand what is going on here (but your parents should!!).
There is an extremely active and vibrant community of dogs and dog owners that regularly attend this dog park.
You can go at nearly any hour during the day (with inclement weather exceptions) and see dogs enjoying themselves with the other dogs, the many toys, obstacles, or just free space to run & play.
The park has benches surrounding beautiful trees with grass in some places, wood chips cover much of the ground so that it is not just a dusty barren lot.
There is a gazebo that can protect you on rainy/windy days and there are plenty of chairs to sit on and many toys/obstacles that engage your dog and get them going.
And again... I challenge you to find a better dog park than the Vint Hill Dog Park!
