Don't sleep on this hidden gem during cherry blossom season! The rest of the botanical garden is well worth a visit, with a greenhouse, polished garden favorites, and wild woodland scenery. There are also children's gardens and a small playground, as well as many benches with different views to enjoy. One of my favorite spots is the fairy garden right outside the entrance, with all kinds of small-scale flowers. Admittedly, I've only been to Meadowlark during two seasons and have yet to witness fall and winter. I'm eager to go for the holiday lights, which I've heard great things about.

There is a trail that goes around the lake. It's has stunning view because the lake is surrounded by spectacular houses. Also, a portion of the Blue Trail passes through the park. The Pink and the Blue Trail run throughout the city of Reston. I was a little nervous about using the trail and crossing the streets. But there are pedestrian tunnels to cross under the busiest streets. Every time I come to this park, I always see plenty of people exercising. 5 stars.

This is a great family friendly environment and I usually take my dog for a walk here once a day. The view from the lake is absolutely stunning. There are at least two docks if you have a boat or a canoe you'd like to take out on the water. There's usually Little League baseball games going on for the kids and people playing tennis at all hours but not in a busy or overcrowded type of way. There's also bathrooms and water fountains for people to use which is convenient. The gazebo has two grills and is perfect for an outdoor get together or a family outing. I would highly recommend this location to anyone trying to enjoy Reston's outdoors.

We loved seeing the animals including cows, calves, horses, pigs, peacocks, ducks, and very vocal sheep! Parking and general admission are free! There is a structure with shaded tables and bathrooms that can be rented for parties through the fairfax park site. If you do have a party there, it is a short and stroller friendly walk to the area with the picnic tables from the parking lot. Besides parking right by the soccer field/picnic table area and there's more parking across the street too. That parking area is by the water with ducks, geese, turtles, cranes and other wildlife. This is a great small neighborhood park, not something you travel far to see, but really great to have nearby for a short stroll and play sports at.

There are several play structures, spread out, and lots of shade. There's also tennis courts, a whole row of swings, and an obstacle course (more for older kids). There's a couple areas for younger kids and areas for older kids just based on the play structures. We lucked out with a gorgeous day and for the most part kids can distance themselves. However since it's huge the kids really are not in one area close together for long. The best part is the whole place is a rubber floor instead of mulch or dirt! We will definitely go again!!!
