The first designer referred me to Anita, who listened, seemed shocked, and then announced their fee policy. However, she said, since they apparently had done work for the prior owner of our house, perhaps the third designer in the office would like to take the job. That designer refused, citing their fee policy, and couldn't even recommend another company. I left feeling humiliated, as if I should have known that they don't do "small" jobs. Perhaps their advertising should mention these fees. I certainly will not use their services in the future, and I will not recommend them to any neighbors or friends.

I bought my new home from Richmond American, where Darvish installed the LVP flooring. During our…read moreinitial walkthrough, we noticed that the planks were not installed correctly, with gaps and not securely locked in place. We asked Richmond American to address this issue, but when the technician came out to fix it, he simply hammered the LVP flooring together without properly securing the planks. I informed him that this was not the correct way to fix the flooring and that the pieces needed to be removed and properly locked together. However, he stated that it was not part of the service request to remove the baseboard and pieces for proper installation. He then left, stating that it was not his problem. Richmond American and Darvish have both refused to properly install the flooring.

Probably the best thing you can say about our original furniture is that it was eclectic. More truthfully, it simply didn't really look that great, pretty much a "before" project on what you'd see on HGTV. Once Vanessa and Michelle got through with it, the interior of the house was totally transformed. The first step was Vanessa came through the house with her contractor, Arlin, and recommended changes to be made, including updating ceiling fans, light fixtures, installing recessed lights, etc. We didn't do everything she recommended but we did most. Vanessa coordinated all of the contracting work done by Arlin and his team, and provided all the quotes. The prices for the various jobs were very competitive, generally cheaper than other estimates I received from other contractors. The bottom line is that the results speak for themselves. We received multiple offers and sold the house for $110K over list within 5 days for the highest price ever sold in our neighborhood. I couldn't have asked for much more than that.
