Under the surface, the place is falling apart: there are active leaks in the basement, the bathroom fans don't even work, there is terrible foundation work, and the A/C unit FROM 1993! Despite paying a premium for a supposedly 'updated' house, you are forced to shoulder 100% of the expensive maintenance burdens of a homeowner without getting any of the actual benefits or equity of owning the property. You have to pay out of pocket for these costly repairs while the actual homeowner hides completely behind Three Doors and Complete Property Management to avoid any accountability. To make matters worse, their home warranty company is a complete joke. They use endless loopholes, pre-existing condition clauses, and deliberate delays to deny legitimate claims, leaving you entirely stranded when those ancient systems inevitably break down. Whenever a crisis hits, the owner stays invisible, the warranty company offers zero protection, and the management group just points to the fine print. It is a predatory setup where you take all the financial risk for a lemon of a house while they hide in the shadows and cash your checks.

I chatted with their agent next and we set up a time to meet at the house and appraise. I again said please do not waste my time if this is just going to be a lowball offer, again even saying 385k as an example of an offer we would be offended by. After three days of communicating and arranging my schedule to to meet Shawn at the property, his offer was $325k. The zillow estimate on our house was $445k and the Zillow offer to buy it was $401k. This was such a colossal waste of time and could have been avoided with honestly and integrity.

In response, they will tell you that it's not a hole in the ceiling, that it's not sewage leaking from the ceiling but "clean water," that the dirt is not their responsibility because the residents are supposedly messy, and that the company responsible for cleaning the building has nothing to do with it. The owner's company also manages the condo association, so in reality it's the same entity. When scheduled work to replace the pipes was done, we were warned that there would be no water for one day. However, no one warned us that there would be no water the following day as well. When we asked, they simply replied that there was no water and that it wasn't their responsibility. Think carefully about whether you want such "adventures" for an extremely overpriced rent.

Jen promptly contacted the sellers realtor and broker to ask questions and get us more information on how to mitigate the issue. She even offered to pay for and deliver the easement deed herself! Luckily it did not come down to that, and we were provided the signed easement deed well before closing. Jen also has a rock solid team to help support her. Jess and Jamie help with logistics and stepping in for the moments when Jen can't be in two places at once (though she tries!). The level of care and compassion they have for each other, which bleeds directly into all of their client relationships, is clearly something that would never be accomplishable working with a large corporation or real estate firm.
