They marketed this as a brand-new, updated home, but it is actually a cheap flip job with outdated everything. They slapped an awful, disgusting paint job over structural issues, installed terrible flooring and cheap carpet, and left popcorn ceilings galore. Under the surface, the place is falling apart: there are active leaks in the basement, the bathroom fans don't even work, there is terrible foundation work, and the A/C unit FROM 1993! Despite paying a premium for a supposedly 'updated' house, you are forced to shoulder 100% of the expensive maintenance burdens of a homeowner without getting any of the actual benefits or equity of owning the property. You have to pay out of pocket for these costly repairs while the actual homeowner hides completely behind Three Doors and Complete Property Management to avoid any accountability. To make matters worse, their home warranty company is a complete joke. They use endless loopholes, pre-existing condition clauses, and deliberate delays to deny legitimate claims, leaving you entirely stranded when those ancient systems inevitably break down. Whenever a crisis hits, the owner stays invisible, the warranty company offers zero protection, and the management group just points to the fine print. It is a predatory setup where you take all the financial risk for a lemon of a house while they hide in the shadows and cash your checks.

I said please do not waste my time and offer me 'like $385k'. Pat said, 'oh no, we do not do that. So I proceeded. I chatted with their agent next and we set up a time to meet at the house and appraise. I again said please do not waste my time if this is just going to be a lowball offer, again even saying 385k as an example of an offer we would be offended by. After three days of communicating and arranging my schedule to to meet Shawn at the property, his offer was $325k. The zillow estimate on our house was $445k and the Zillow offer to buy it was $401k. This was such a colossal waste of time and could have been avoided with honestly and integrity.

Also, seeing houses with her was an educational process for us: she'd teach us about cracks and discolorations and the neighborhoods, etc. What changed our destiny with house hunting was how Angie went ahead with getting the seller's enclosure and making an appointment for us in two hours. I had moved into one of their freshly rehabbed 1-bedroom apartments in the Demun neighborhood. Immediately I noticed that there was no ceiling fan in the bedroom. I asked them if they could install one, and a few days later, they put it in. I really wasn't expecting that. I didn't need to call them often for issues, but when I did they were extremely responsive and capable, and the staff was nice to deal with. I usually paid my rent on time, but when it was late, they didn't complain or charge me any additional fees. I can't say this will be the same for everyone else, it could be because I had lived there for a while and they knew I was good for it. During the whole time I lived there, they only raised the rent once, by about 10%, which was reasonable. I didn't feel like they were greedy and always trying to get more money from me. When I had to leave the property, I asked them if they'd be willing to let me end my lease a few months early, and they did so without any penalties. They also returned a good portion of my security deposit, which I honestly wasn't expecting. Paying rent will always suck, but with landlords like Cronin, it will suck the least amount possible. If you have a family emergency or have to move, you are treated as a burden, even if you've rented from them for several years, follow all their policies perfectly, and have always paid on time. You have to follow strict policies for guests, extremely low noise levels, and may not own a dog. The buildings have a high tendency of leaking through walls during heavy rain. The sewer lines also back up. Their rent is much higher than other landlords in the area. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.

In response, they will tell you that it's not a hole in the ceiling, that it's not sewage leaking from the ceiling but "clean water," that the dirt is not their responsibility because the residents are supposedly messy, and that the company responsible for cleaning the building has nothing to do with it. The owner's company also manages the condo association, so in reality it's the same entity. When scheduled work to replace the pipes was done, we were warned that there would be no water for one day. However, no one warned us that there would be no water the following day as well. When we asked, they simply replied that there was no water and that it wasn't their responsibility. Think carefully about whether you want such "adventures" for an extremely overpriced rent.
