I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!! I drove out of my way to support small businesses, next time I want to put $400+ in Lucchese boots I will stay home and go on ZAPPOS because they at least they have: 1. BETTER PRICES 2. 365 DAY RETURN POLICY (Which is is better than your so called 'policy' enforced by a snappy manager) 3. Polite Customer Service (See comment above on how I feel about the Manager) 4. They actually have a selection and SIZES (What kind of store only offers store credit and exchange only BUT has nothing to exchange, she literally brought me the boots I returned to try on....and some even looked bent up and worn) 5. I don't have to feed the meters when the Manager leaves in the middle of a conflict for a coffee break. P.S. I rarely review places other than restaurants- only when they deserve either good or bad attention. On a recent trip to Middleburg my fiancé and I visited Lou Lou's three times because I thought their items were so adorable and reasonably priced for a boutique store. The shopkeepers/owners are friendly and it really is such as pleasant place to shop! At the end of the weekend I walked out with a dress, belt, and purse and loved the experience. Definitely a "must visit." Open a store in the Raleigh/Durham area! :) read more

I try to stop in at Lou Lou at least once every season. They get a great assortment of designer clothes, ranging in price from surprisingly affordable to the more expensive, and they seem to stock sizes and styles to fit just about everyone. I love their spring and summer dress collection, and they always have cute tops for nights out on the town. The sales rack is also worth a look - I find that especially if you are like me and nowhere near a size zero, they usually have a great selection of larger sizes from the previous season (and sometimes even the current season, since their stock seems to rotate pretty quickly), all generously marked down. There's a small assortment of cute jewelry on-hand and much more in the way of accessories just down the street, at Lou Lou Too. Sales people have always been friendly and helpful, making it a nice and welcoming place to shop! read more

I had the best experience in this adorable shop on Saturday! I was singing in a wedding band at salamander and once I got there I realized I didn't have a belt on my dress to hold my in ear monitor pack, I know super random right? I called Lou Lou right away,as I had passed it on my way to the venue and have always wanted to stop in. The girl on the phone was very helpful and friendly and said that they could help me for sure! As soon as I got there she showed me the belts first and then I asked to see some formal dresses just in case I wanted to get something different. At that point another sales associate came over and started to help as well, I felt like Julia Roberts in pretty woman they took such good care of me. I found a dress I loved but it needed a different bra so they found me a bra-let and even safety pinned it in to the dress for me. I found a beautiful belt that I loved but it was too big and so these wonderful women found a way to poke a new hole in the belt to make it fit me perfectly! Not joking when I say I left there feeling like a million bucks....and when I walked back into salamander all the guys in the band said "wow"! Thank you ladies for such an amazing experience, you completely made my night, I felt so confident and beautiful in that ensemble! read more

Not an enjoyable shopping experience. Was in the store for about 40 minutes without being acknowledged once, while seemingly everyone around me was. It wasn't busy either. I had many clothes in my hands to try on and had to ask someone if they worked there to get a fitting room. It seemed like my being in the store was an inconvenience. To top it off there was a very snarky sign in the dressing room that says something along the lines of "stealing jewelry is illegal don't do it" framed and in a really cutesy font. *rolls eyes*. People working at this store just seem to have a bad attitude. read more

I don't want to give any stars because I have been shopping here since I was in middle school and am now 26. I love Lou Lou. However, my mom and I came yesterday and received cringe worthy customer service. The associate on the clock was overbearing to the point in which I could not leave the store fast enough. I have worked retail in large and small shops for many years. I understand that a healthy push and friendliness is needed to take a sale and extra step. Returning to a customer with suggestions more than 3 times, even more than once, after polite but firm rejection is unacceptable and leaves the customer feeling alienated. The sales associate harped on my mother to come out of her changing room after she said no. It was over all such a weird and uncomfortable experience. I love this store and I hope you can do a better job in training employees in the future. read more

I have bought gifts here for my Wife and Daughter for 6 years. Unfortunately, I have recently found that the friendly staff mask an unfriendly owner who took an unreasonable, if not arrogant posture when he finally called me back in response to a problem. The store imposes a rigid 14 day return for credit only policy. NO REFUNDS, even if you return a $480.00 pair of ill-fitting boots on time, and even if the store is out of stock to make a proper fitting. Makes no difference that the person you purchased the gift for lives far away and is in town only for a short while. Oh, and good luck seeing the sign informing you of this policy. You will find it somewhere by the check-out counter, likely behind some other merchandise or holiday decorations. Sorry to the friendly staff, but I will be using up my store credit and not returning thereafter. read more

Returned a dress here today that I purchased 2 1/2 weeks ago. The dress was never worn, tags still on and I had my receipt. They only allow exchanges or store credit. I so disagree with such a stringent return policy that I will not shop here again. read more

There is a clothing shop and then across the street is a boutique by the same name that has jewelry, purses, scarves, and other cute accessories. My girlfriend and I did some Christmas shopping in Middleburg today and just loved this place, It has a lot of wonderful, unique jewelry and gift items. The sales ladies were friendly but not pushy and didn't seem to mind that we spent forever just wandering around. And they wrapped our purchases so beautifully, I will be back! Charming! read more

After I explained the situation, Lou Lou flexed its usual return/exchange policy and I was able to get the items I preferred with minimal difficulty and maximum speed.
